The processors are better for the M570TU, DDR3 support, a Clevo system, and far cheaper. The m17x can utilize sli of the 9800GT and run RAID0. The Mt570 is a better 'laptop' versus a desktop replacement.

Completely different chipset, cpus, memory, and this one supports quads and the 9800M GTX. They are quite different.

I never trust sites like these. Who is to say it is not an M570ETU incorrectly marked as an M570TU?

only a few sites have correctly marked/tagged it as ETU.... even Clevo has not done it. ;)

From the outside they look exactly the same, it is only a minor change on the motherboard. You're welcome to try a quad in your mobo, but it has been tried by various people unsuccessfully

hey guys am still dealing with 2 issues would be nice if anybody could help:

    1. my m570tu freezes after 2-5 minutes when i active the silent modus in windows vista 64 bit. just a restart via power button helps, so no working silent modus for me very annoying

    2. my esata device freezes the pc 4 30 seconds after activating, then the drives works 4 minutes till it hangs up again and crahes the whole pc, usb works fine

maybe i should reinstall vista you think that might help?

    greetings from germany

    ok
windows vista sp1 + all updates
    office 2007 ap1 all updates
intel chipset driver latest from the official hp
intel turbo memory & matrix driver latest from the hp
latest realthek hight definition audio driver
video2go latest video driver + modded inf
for the other device i used the offcial sager page to download the drivers...

yesterday i reinstalled windows vista completely fine in silent mode
so it seems to be a problem that only appears in a complete windows vista environment.

i thought maybe its my virus scanner (norton antivirus gaming edition 2009)
but it also happend after i deinstalled it

so i realy have no clue what causes the silent modus crash error
happens in my new vista as well

i now tried to deinstall the hotkey manager... hotkeys still work maybe it helps.

    greetings flode

    ps i forgot. the bios is up2date. 1.0.10 & 1.0.0.9 ec...

I am planning to buy 2x2GB RAM kit in to my 5796 instead of my 2x1GB. What would you recommend?

Flode, I'm not sure what is going on with your silent mode. As far as I'm aware, there is no silent mode, so I'm kinda confused. The fans have Full and Auto, but no silent like found in the M570RU.

As far as e-sata is concerned, a mobo replacement fixed the problem for me. The 570TU seems to commonly have faulty mobos.

DRevan, the best and most powerful memory out there is Kingstons new CAS5 1066mhz DDR3 ( KHX8500S3ULK2/4G ). It comes with a heavier cost, though. They have almost double the memory performance when compared to the standerd CAS7 ram that comes in the system. A new heatspreader helps keep the high end memory cool in intensive applications. They run about $228 for 4GB. 5-5-5-15 vs 7-7-7-20.
    http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/con...sp?root=&LinkBack=&ktcpartno=KHX8500S3ULK2/4G

If you don't care so much about memory speed and just want a good, cheap upgrade, I've always like G.Skill. 4GB can be had for about $90.

Is this a good gaming notebook to get if your not ready for the d901 (too expensive. http://Zepto.dk in Denmark is selling it (Hydra A17) for a good price at the moment. Is the T7350 or the P9500 a big difference? Will i be able to upgrade this baby down the road? Is a new model coming very soon? Because the text at the website indicates that they have a limited number of them in stock...

here's a small, poor quality but visible picture of the battery,

the top and bottom numbers that I posted are on the white stickers at the top and bottom of the battery,

the model number is painted in green directly on the battery itself and I assume refers to the battery

I'm curious about what you want the numbers for :)

I've had my 5796 for about 4 months and I have two nagging problems.

    1) My BOIS looses about 2minutes a day.
    2) 1 out of every 5-6 boots produces a nasty crackling sound from the speakers.

Neither are really show stoppers but it is a pain to re setmy time every few days, and reboot to get clear sound. any Ideas. I'm waiting for an answer from sager tech support now.

silent mode seems to work after a freash install of windows or while installing no issues at this time

but after installing the drivers & software at some point it happens.

alos it doesnt freez at the moment i press the button it takes some time.

yesterday i viewed tv 2 hours in silent mode no problem but then when i downloaded something and went afk system froze after 10 minutes its kind of crazy.

and i have no such issue with no silent mode system is realy realy rock stable

No idea where to get it. You'll have to contact somebody. Its not available for download anywhere that I know of. They put it on for my while my system was being repaired.

I'm not going to contact sager so you can be lazy ;) Something you have to work for.

theriko thanks for the two updates. Worked like a charm and my laptop booted without all the crackling noises! Wired thing I I had to re reg Vista and reset my desktop background afterwords.

Now does anyone know of Bitlocker is going to freak out about the bios change? I disabled it before I flashed the bios. I couldn't find any info on whether a bios update would effect thumbdrive key users.

Spoke too soon. The Bios update caused my computer to randomly reboot. It took a few to figure it out but it is User Pinning that is doing it. Time to see if there is an update for turbo memory.

Wholey Mary Mother of God what have I done!?!?!?! In 20 years of my computer geekdom I have only had one BIOS flash go bad. Though this one appears successful. I’m wondering if it didn’t bring more problems to the table than the origonal BIOS. Since doing the BIOS update My computer went nuts see other post I then did a fresh install of Vista 64 bit with latest drivers yesterday I could find. I have had 3 BSOD realated to Graphics card hardware issues. 3 random reboots that did not even leave any Error report. A slew of error reports telling me to update my ICH9 drivers to the latest drivers which the error report link points to the same ones I loaded. 2 error reports telling me to update my Robinson turbo memory to the latest driver which it aslo points to as the one I have already loaded and a Power BIOS Server crash. I’m trying to go through each one at a time but the random reboots are really freaking me out.

I have worked through each issue and to my suprize the Power BIOS Server crash is associated with the Hot Key Utility. What does that thing do anyway? I got the latest drivers from Sagers site. Maybe I should go back to the one on my Driver CD. I haven’t seen one of those Random Reboots in a about 5 hours except for maybe one time when I left for an hour and came back and my laptop was back at the login screen. Didn’t seem like a reboot, more like sleep mode, cause half my apps were still running, and several had to be restarted. One Question though. I tried to use the latest 64 bit Gforce drivers downloaded from Nvidias website. I uninstalled my old sager drivers, restarted windows, tried to load Nvidias drivers. First I got an eror about trying to run Nvidias 32but uninstall program in a 64bit enviroment, then an error about not running 64bit vista, when I clicked OK I got a third error stating I dod not have a compatible video card. So went back to Sagers drivers. They work pretty well.

LordSmack: Maybe you've download the wrong drivers, try the ones from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/.

I think the latest official mobile drivers are are these:
    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=22783

The drivers from laptopvideo2go do not have the physx engine included so you will need to download that separately: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=22708

Clevo's website does not work for many people, myself included. Your best bet to get the latest BIOS is to contact your manufacturer, eg Sager, Eurocom.
