Any idea where I can get it from ?

I am trying to see if there is any way to enable unlocked multipliers even if the CPU is not an extreme version. This could also apply to the new W860CU.

It seems that I have a few spare parts left from my M570TU. They will be going up in the Marketplace very soon, so you guys get to get a sneak peek before I put them up. The "x" denotes that it can be accepted by both the M570RU and M570TU (NP5790-NP5797).

    Backpanel for M570xU.
    Battery for M570xU.
    Hard drive bracket for M570xU.
    HDD SATA connector for M570xU.

All of these parts are spare parts, meaning that I keep them as a backup for my modded primary parts, and that these are barely used.

If only those would work in the M570 series... Sigh! But I just got my 280, so I shouldn't complain too much.

I don't know what is causing the problem yet.

I sent the laptop in and they replaced the GPU. Got it back and it still has the same problem.

It happened after about 1 hour of playing Aion, now it happens sooner, even when all the game settings are turned down to minimum.

Any ideas on what I should test or look at to see what the problem is? At this point, I don't think Xotic can/will find the problem very quickly so I'd rather try.

Another thing...does any1 have issues with Windows 7? I'm using Windows 7 Pro (but had the same problem with previous versions too) and random times (sometimes browsing the internet, but sometimes during games) the laptop freezes (sometimes I can alt+tab out and close the game)...but this only happens if I'm using the laptop with "Balanced" power mode, in "High performance" there is no problem, any1 know why? (I installed all the new Win7 drivers Sager have to download)

The test is running, and has found errors, but it's still going after 10 hours. It ran on my wife's laptop in 20 min, so there might be another problem brewing.

It's not HW issue (at least not on Win7), a lot of ppl have problem with random freezing on Balanced power mode. Try High performance mode. Would be nice to know what causes the freezing on Balanced mode tho... (The funny thing is, MS didn't fix this since the first public release of Win7...)

I don't trust that program...I had VGA issues, I runned it and got thousands of errors after a few min....so I changed my 9800M GT to a brand NEW GTX 280M and with the latest Sager VGA driver it gives this:

    Changing video mode to 640x480x16...OK
[2009.10.31. 10:25:03] Test started for "Primary Display Driver (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M)"...
    Trying 16bpp RGB:565 mode...OK
    TEST FAIL (Code: 8876017C)
    Trying 16bpp RGB:555 mode...OK
    TEST FAIL (Code: 8876017C)
    Trying 16bpp BGR:565 mode...NOT SUPPORTED (Code: 80004001)
    Trying 32bpp RGB:888 mode...OK
    TEST FAIL (Code: 8876017C)
    Trying 32bpp BGR:888 mode...NOT SUPPORTED (Code: 80004001)
    NO PASS COMPLETED

And with the latest NVidia beta driver it gives the same errors that it gave me for my faulty 9800M GT, but not after minutes of the Test start, in 10-20 seconds!
    Changing video mode to 640x480x16...OK
[2009.10.31. 10:16:45] Test started for "Primary Display Driver (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M)"...
    Trying 16bpp RGB:565 mode...OK
    TEST FAIL (Code: 8876017C)
    Trying 16bpp RGB:555 mode...OK
Error at [3EC00000]: must be FFFF, but found 7FFF (bits: 1000000000000000)
Error at [3EC00002]: must be FFFF, but found 7FFF (bits: 1000000000000000)
Error at [3EC00004]: must be FFFF, but found 7FFF (bits: 1000000000000000)
Error at [3EC00006]: must be FFFF, but found 7FFF (bits: 1000000000000000)

Error at [3EC0000A]: must be FFFF, but found 7FFF (bits: 1000000000000000)
    ...

Or this program isn't compatyble with GTX 280M/Win7 64bit? I've been playing+running benchmarks on my laptop since the VGA arrived and so far -*knock*knock*knock on wood- I didn't have the issues as I had with my 9800M GT.
Or you think the brand new VGA which I am using since 2 days, died allready? (Temps are ok too, it runs even cooler than my 9800M GT did)

ps: I checked the log from my 9800M GT and not entirely, but almost the same:
    Trying 16bpp RGB:565 mode...OK
    Trying 16bpp RGB:555 mode...OK
Error at [1F000000]: must be FFFF, but found 7FFF (bits: 1000000000000000)
Error at [1F000002]: must be FFFF, but found 7FFF (bits: 1000000000000000)
Error at [1F000004]: must be FFFF, but found 7FFF (bits: 1000000000000000)

I can't imagine how could the VGA die in 2 days without OC ... is this program working ok for you under Win7 64 bit?
I gonna try Vista 64bit...strange that according to this program both cards "have" memory errors, but only the 9800M GT shows symptoms (BSOD after 1-2 min in games), despite that errors pop up much faster during the test for the 280M...

I rerunned the test on Vista 64bit (Forceware 179.27), it took 34 min 15sec, 0 errors.

    Changing video mode to 640x480x16...OK

huh, it gave me a scare there :D
Looks like another compatibility issue for Windows 7 Pro 64bit...now I definetaly stay on Vista 64bit instead, too much major issues on Windows 7 (memory error for VGA, random freezes on Balanced power mode)

Thanks for letting me know. I was getting worried about having to send this thing in. I have even tried changing the CPU power setting in the High performance mode and the laptop still froze. I have not seen any improvement between the BETA, RC and RTM.

Please let me know if you fine a fix for this. I think that it is an Intel chipset driver.

Install the latest Intel Matrix Storage driver, after that it should be fine on High Performance power mode.

I tried some other drivers out on Vista 64bit. 179.27 works ok, but despite that they give higher Vantage score, 186.03 and 195.39 gives errors during memory test :(
Can some1 recommend a driver for Vista 64bit that 100% won't give read error?

It is very weird what is happening to your computer. I could suggest trying to resit the GPU several times, and also cleaning the motherboard MXM connector.

As a driver, try the one from Clevo's official website. 187.52 (i think).

Not necessarily, I had a similar issue with my 9800M GTX. I thought the card was faulty, but it turned out it only needed a proper resitting.

I don't think it's Windows Seven that is messing with VMT. On my M570TU, I received no errors on both Vista and Seven, both in and out of safe mode, and on 182, 185, and 186 drivers.

I gonna try more drivers. Only played WoW so far and it crashed after ~2 hours of gameplay (but the laptop didn't freeze, I was able to alt+tab out and close it)...but I think that was because I played it with a driver which is almost 1 year old. (I know it is an old game, but still, it is very picky depending hardware and drivers)
