New XTU profile, 42x4, no throttling, max temp during XTU Benchmark = 86C / Max temp during wPRIME stability test = 82C / Max Temps during 3DMark11 = 70C
Setting the VCORE to adaptive but with a -150mV offset made a night and day difference as opposed to the static 1.166V I had set before where temps would reach up to 98C.
Using CLEVO BIOS v1.05.02
Download 42x4 XTU Profile

I have always had this bios and it throttles once the gpu's get involved. The only diff is I don't have the prema ec that you do.

So an official new bios/firmware is out? The "Cleve" files are for the "Sager" model? I know Eurocom has their own.
Sorry for the basic question, kinda new to the Clevo based systems and the different suppliers etc.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Not sure if this is the right thread, but can anyone give safe, cool overclocking template for the i-7 6820HK? Seriously not interested in pushing the limits and dealing with stability/heat/life-of-hardware issues, but I think this processor can be safely pushed significantly beyond stock.

You should start browsing through the manufacture threads ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/#notebook-manufacturers.1002) to ensure you are posting in the correct section.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

You need to disable UEFI and boot into a WIN 98 Flash Disk, offcourse you have to place the extracted zip file there, then run MESET.EXE, that will reboot your system, then immediately boot back into the USB Flash disk and run flashme.bat -

Curious ... This is a new bios but not EC? Does this new bios fix anything? Especially related to voltage and timings that is the issues as of now?

I understand the frustration for sure but I know Prema will follow through soon. From his point of view he has to be sure that what's released doesn't negatively impact anyone's system as it's his name on the line. Just like anything, no matter how good the product is it only takes one bad thing to be visible and that's what will be remembered which sucks.
I like to look at the glass half full, it's hard but it makes things easier in the long haul.

Plus, that's an apples to oranges comparison, too. Prema Mod is not a "Clevo" system BIOS. Some Clevo vendors have their own BIOS that brands their machine rather than using a generic Clevo "white box" system BIOS. Prema's firmware is an aftermarket mod that might void your warranty unless you have a Prema Mod Partner supporting it with their own boutique warranty.
Dell does not sell "white box" Alienware systems to resellers to rebrand as their own boutique product, and Dell doesn't distribute SLV7's unlocked system BIOS for the M17xR3, M17xR4, M18xR1 or M18xR2. On top of all that, they intentionally BLOCKED US from having an unlocked BIOS on the Alienware 17 and 18. And, the BIOS they provide isn't unlocked, so you're forever stuck with stock short of learning to hex edit and do SMD soldering to circumvent their evilness. I think this might even qualify as an apples to meatloaf comparison.

Prema's mods are great but sometimes people loose sight of the goal of the machine, out of the box the gaming is going to be good, then a little down the road as titles really push it you can get more out of it.

Oh yeah no doubt out of the box it is untouchable and games like a beast. Any new major release like this will take a little time and should be expected when buying into a whole new design and platform. I am just happy to known there will be a Prema bios for the machine at some point and support from him and the manufacturer/resellers.

It's all part of a package that should keep the machine relevant for a decent length of time

Certainly a slow baked idea Interesting to see what comes of this

This project already consumed two years, tested on different platforms EOL after each test new changes, now I think that is already ready for the long test efficiency,

Thank you very much for providing the latest profile 4x42 adaptive - very good
What version you're using XTU ? -

I know that the bios Prema is the best
Unfortunately, I live in Poland, which has been forced to purchase Clevo P870DM-G
Customs duties and so did their job and I'm forced to use unfortunately XTU -

I bought a machine with reseller CEG-Hardcorecustom.
I got the original Clevo P870DM-G with the BIOS Clevo 1.05.03
as I wrote earlier today 1.05.02
I would go back only to the newer version 1.5.03 but it is nowhere
Otherwise you will have to spend on the BIOS 05/01/02 + XTU
As for Prema Bios to pay considerable money to have itLast edited: Feb 15, 2016 -
