    I second Meaker's suggestion.

The RAM is installed under the keyboard. I have 2x8GB sticks. Also have mSata drive if that makes a difference.

When I put either stick in the upper one marked Bank 3, when I switch it on, it starts, but then after about 5-10s there is a 'plink' of the HDD (I think) and it turns off and reboots itself and does the same again. Never makes it to the BIOS screen.

When I put one stick in the one marked Bank 4, it does the same as above. But when I put the other one in, it stays blank and it doesn't make it to the BIOS splash screen. I left it on for about a minute, then turned it off. There was no 'flashing' of the HDD light, so it looked like nothing was happening at all. Weird, I tried all the combinations, and none worked? o_O

Anyways, I have them both back in for the moment with my random time to BIOS splash screen. Sometimes it's only 10s, most times it's 1-2 mins.

Thanks guys - help is appreciated.

    Any next steps?

Does it do the same with the slots under the main cover? Did you try each of the sticks by themselves?

I now tried both sticks separately in all ram slots. The only time it actually seems to get somewhere is when they are both put in the slots 3 and 4 under the keyboard.

The time to get to the BIOS screen seems to be getting worse and worse. I've waited over 10 minutes before giving up and multiple times more than 5 minutes. I'm now typing this on my old laptop :(

I fear it is dead. Any last ideas before I give up on it?

Have you tried booting it with no HDD/SSD?

I have mSata and a HDD. I did pull out the HDD, and there was no difference. Should I try pulling out the msata as well as the HDD and booting with neither? I guess I can try booting from a USB or DVD?

Just see if you can get into the bios with nothing but one stick of ram.

    No go :(

Pulled both mSata and SSD. Tried each stick of RAM in each RAM slot. All I get is a cycle when I turn it on fan spins up momentarily, then stops, Discrete Graphics LED comes on, then after a second or 2 HDD LED blinks and then it seems to restart (power button goes off). This cycle only takes about 5-10s.

    Dying, dying, dead?

You could get your reseller to check for you, see if it's repairable and what the cost might be.

    Hi everyone,

I just need a little advise with regards this notebook and a good processor. I purchased it as a barebone for 200 euro new with HD7970m new unboxed but i have a msi 1060 on hand from my old machine which died a honourable death with beer  . I would like some recommendations for a cpu that will be good enough fro most games that wont cost a small fortune. I am aware that haswell runs hot and have been looking up the 4940MX but the cost of it in europe is really not worth it with the age of the laptop.

The higher 4xxx series do allow a fair amount of multiplier adjustments so a 48xx or 49xx should still get a good result.

Im still hanging onto my Sager 8268/ P150sm-a until it croaks! Lol! A few months ago there was a windows update that let me enable "core isolation" . Sounded cool so I enabled it and let it restart. Ive had boot problems ever since, sometimes it will start fine, sometimes it wont recognise any drives and I need to pull the eeprom battery and re-enable UEIF settings in prima mod bios, even then it will be a 50/50 chance of working but if I do it enough times it will eventually stick and boot. The main issue is my video card (gtx 870m) is no longer recognized. I'm at a loss at what can cause this. Any thoughts???

Ugg!! Besides updates, I've never reinstalled it since 2014 Lol! Gotta do what I gotta do though, I trust your advice.

I have to say, Sager/Clevo makes some good, repairable machines. Longest I've ever had a laptop without major problems, been using laptops since around 96' first was a Toshiba Tecra plugged into good old dial up. Even the touchpad on the Sager (which I use exclusively sometimes with dirty, greasy hands) shows no sign of wear. Customer for life. Thanks!!!!

    Winflash says files are incorrect.
This is my subcard (gtx 970m 6gb) . My problem actually stayed on the 2015 video card driver. code 43 error when updating

355.60 (06.08.2015) working nvidia old drivers. then the resulting drivers give code 43 error

Flashing between makes you will always have to force flash.
