So ...

i decided to destroy my keyboard last friday while the weekly cleenup of the laptop (eg. get rid of 2 keys with the vacumcleaner -.-; damn you new Dyson!!)

=> called mysn for a replacementpart
=> they wanted an email with S/N of the Laptop and my okay for the cost of the part (~~ 50 € including nextday delivery)
=> got the Part on saturday
=> very happy customer

They won't.

It's a ES/QS w/e you want to call it. There should be a 3760QM (I believe a hasswell CPU later this year, or next year)

 

No,there will be a 3740qm this year,i think in september,a competitor offered it already with delivery 3-4 weeks,so i wanted to ask Schenker,as i would prefer ordering from them. Basically 3740qm is just a 3720qm with 100MHZ more as reference and boost clock.

I am considering the MYsn a522 but just wondering a few things.

Is it any good as working as a development laptop??? I would be looking to run Virtual machines with ms server, sql, sharepoint and visual studio.

Does it have msata available or do I need to provision for a ssd?

 

No mSATA but it has the ability for RAID 0 and 5 and has 2 HDD/SSD's drives. So plug in and use

It should run Vitrual Machines and servers just fine, Visual studio should be no problem either. Just make sure you pick a good CPU (pref. 3720QM or just 3610QM) and that should be it.

Ye I was thinking about going for XMG A522 15.6" Advanced - IFA Special

I am thinking about the 3610 or the 3612 but I am guessing between them there not much in it except one lower watts.

I can't decide whether to go 12gb or 1* 8gb ram as looking online I could get another 8gb for cheaper than the upgrade to 16gb.

The hard drive would I see a difference between a standard hdd and seagate 750gb 8gb sata I am guessing this is a hybrid.

Not sure if to go with a large harddrive or fork out more for the ssd or buy ssd later..hmm

Has anyone got recent experience of Mysn UK? My order has been stuck at processing for about 10 days or so, I'm getting no response to emails, live chat is offline, and phoning results in redirected to a dead line... getting a little worried!

Going to order my laptop tomorrow just wondering is it worth phoning them to order can you get anything off/included if you do it...never bought from them or other clevo sellers so only going on past experience with dell etc.

I be buying the below but would consider an extra hdd and maybe window from them but I am pretty sure I can get it for cheaper else where and also if I really don't feel guilty about it use my msdn account.

Quick Feedback from my experience with MySN Germany:

I was looking to upgrade the RAM, HDD and cooling system of my X7200.
As the reseller (One.de) I bought the X7200 at let me down, I turned to MySN.

They had a great costumer support and replied to every of my countless E-mails quickly and professionally. Soon I agreed on switching my RAM with Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600Mhz and ordered a second HDD, the 750GB 7200rpm Momentus XT. Renewing thermal paste and checking the cooling system was free. As their RMA department was very busy, I had to pay some money to be on the same priority as MySN customers though.

I sent my notebook in - it arrived on Monday night - and it took them only some hours on Tuesday to install the new hardware and check my cooling system. The same day it was sent back to my via DHL and I received it on Friday.

After unboxing the package I was positively surprised that they also cleaned the surface of my X7200, the keyboard and case too. A quick stress-test reveiled that my CPU is now properly cooled: instead of exceeding 100°C after 3mins under full load it now hovers between 75-78° which are AMAZING temps.
The HDD and RAM both work great so far. I only had to discover that the i7 980 only allows for 1066 Mhz on the RAM.

So I'm a really happy customer and glad I turned to MySN!

P370EM (aka XMG P722) will come to the XMAS calendar in the next couple of days. Just take a look every day!

Hello. I have received my laptop XMG-A722 just a few days ago. I have a big problem with it which makes it unusable - the wireless doesn't work (Killer N 1103 Wireless). The signal is very weak and the only way I can use the Wi-Fi is to place the laptop right next to the wireless router (Linksys WRT54GL) and even then is just average. If I move to a different room the connection just drops. My 6+ yrs old laptop with stock wireless card doesn't have any issue and neither does my brother's 4+ yrs old laptop in the same conditions, so it's clearly not a problem with my router (the firmware is updated). The distance from the other room is less than 5 meters and while both my other laptops get maximum download speeds, no packet loss and no connection interruption, the Killer Wireless has very weak signal and can't even keep the connection open. Also I already tried multiple drivers including the ones you recommended and the official drivers for Windows 8 64 bit from Killer website. The connection test works the same as on my other laptops once the A722 is 10 cm away from the router, but at distances for more than 3-4 meters I can't even open an internet page.

I have already tried to troubleshoot this for many hours in a row and have gone through all these steps. Like I said before it looks either the antennas are not installed correctly or the card is faulty. I can't think of any other reason. I have tried to discuss this issue with your support through e-mail, it's very hard to communicate this way (1 e-mail from me and maybe one answer from you once/day), I really want to get this resolved by Christmas, I was hoping to enjoy my new laptop and now I feel disappointed and sad. I don't want to waste any more time on this issue so please let me know how can we resolve this as soon as possible? Is there anyway I can get in touch with someone from your support staff on IM or a VoIP service?

did you buy from germany or the uk.
the uk website has live chat and are in direct contact with germany so it might be better to use that on monday as you will be talking direct to them instead of waiting for emails all the time mySN UK | XMG | by Schenker Notebooks (look out for the green live chat on left hand side of page).

when you turn wifi on using Fn & F11 keys do you get the popup in top left corner showing signal on.
did you load the operating system and then drivers yourself or was it all pre loaded. drivers have to be loaded in a certain order like on the driver disc or they can conflict with each other.

 

I bought from the German website. Yes, when I turn the Wi-Fi on it shows signal on, the wireless internet works only in really close range, over 3 meters away from the router it's dead. I will try contacting the UK site on Monday because I am getting rather impatient, I've did everything they've asked me and I didn't get an answer on how to proceed since Thursday.
The drivers are pre-installed on WIndows 8 and the Wi-Fi works from the get go. The problem is the signal strength. I tried several drivers both from the official website and even some drivers for Atheros 5xxx which I found out that work better on this forum. I tried also installing Windows 7 and the drivers for that OS. I already spent countless hours trying to fix this problem on a software level and it's just not that. Like I said the wireless card does work, but very poorly because of very weak signal. I did some tests for this (on every driver version that worked) using inSSIDer and compared it to my two other laptops under the same conditions. Next to the router (~10 cm distance) I have around 40 RSSI while my other laptops have less than 20 RSSI and in my other room where the A722 looses the connection at around 90 RSSI my other laptops have 60-70 RSSI, full download speed and never lose the connection.

from what you say i would assume that the antennas of your wifi card are not (propperly) connected ...

Thank you for your suggestion, but my laptop is brand new and I won't try to fix it myself since it's a hardware problem, I'll get in touch with support tomorrow and I'll let you know how it will work out.

 

im guessing something worked lose in transit if its done it since youve had it. all the laptops are fully tested before they leave mysn so as i said its most probably a lose connection.
we never know how these couriers treat our deliverys but ive heard of some real horror storys over the years with damaged lappys and desktops.
support will help you out tomorrow so you can finally enjoy your beast of a laptop.

 

This really looks like a bad antenna connection. Removing the keyboard and having a look for yourself might not be a bad idea, if you have the tools. Otherwise we are awaiting your e-mail.

 

Received a new P170 config from mySN.. Quite satisfied with the entire process - no issues with payments whatsoever, packing was great, etc. I asked them to preinstall windows & the drivers, no issues there too - what's needed has been done and nothing more (which I appreciate - I hate having bloatware). Regarding the often-cited keyboard issues with this model - looks like the people at mysn have done a good job installing it properly, all keys register fast and there's no flex on the kb and no missing keystrokes.
So, yeah. I can definitely recommend mySN.
