Yeah unfortunately, back to older blade 14, maybe no room? Because they fit anything else there.

Oh no doubt. Look how thin it is. Cooling system gotta go some where.

and even then, those GPUs are def 60w parts.

Imagine paying 3 grand for 3060~ish performance.

    le sigh

oh well. This is still potentially a step in the right direction. I just hope they sell like hot cakes so ryzen can overtake the main spot in the blade 15 next year

No it’s 100 watt up to he said unlike other that are 80/60 watt when I’m not wrong. But definitely maybe 3070 is sweet spot here, g14 similar specs costs also €2,3K here with only 3060.

    Already sold one LoL.
Literally this but instead 3080ti blade 14

This’ll be definitely my next update though, from blade 15 2018. Recently early the year just got Razer book 13.

    UP to 100W.

Chances are it's 80W boostable to 100W. There's absolutely NO WAY they can deal with thermals on this size. Why did they opt for an HX model? That's insane. It should've been offered with the HS. This will be throttled out of the box, guaranteed.

Yeah and yeah, they should learn from Dell how to put 32gb ram and the top end 3080 costs here 3K, the €600 difference from 3070 they should put 32 at least.

Sorry no offense are you new to Razer? It’s already so since 2018 blade 15, first the world first, second look, specs etc then comes later performance on the end :D

No one expect great cooling on this thin category, especially since they use unibody and only one main heat output. It’s known, you can the best LM it but it won’t be huge improvement, after that you’re welcomed to conservative Razer bios top security lock. Older blade was easier to tweak software wise. No one expecting GE67 3080 performance, but pretty sure it will breakfast g14, Acer Triton se300 in this category.

I ordered the 3060 model. Was contemplating if I’d get much out of a 3070 in this form factor with that CPU and thought na, especially as I don’t care for the display upgrade.

I was waiting on a stealth refresh, this is the next best thing. If there was a 32GB option or even 16:10 may have been perfect. But alas perfect laptops don’t exist... I was considering the 11th gen Blade 15 given the 1080p webcam, TB4 and other updates or even the new X series Alienware - but i don’t need that much power and I am hoping this machine will be quieter and cooler but I could be wrong?

Something to tide me over until the 2022/2023 MX Mac’s or ARM Windows alternatives.

Tempted to go for the 3060 model even before the reviews are out. I have a 9 year old laptop right now... really itching to upgrade. The performance difference between the 3060 and 3080 Blade 15 is +25% gaming FPS for the 3080. Not really worth a £1000 upgrade. Also 1080p is better for a 14 incher. I find 1440p too sharp even on a 27 inch monitor.

I was in the exact same boat. Interested in the AW X series and the 11th gen RB15 for the same reasons but was waiting for reviews before I made a decision. The 14” form factor here made my decision for me though… I also went with the 1080p / 3060 thinking 1080p is pixel dense enough on a 14” screen plus a little bit better battery life.

Just waiting for reviews to see if a 14’’ chassis this small can handle all this hardware and performance without throttling.
I think the RTX 3070 is the sweet spot and pretty sure the 10% improvement going with a RTX 3080 does not justify the extra $600. That’s just my own opinion and could totally be wrong but everyone has there own wants and needs and won’t begrudge anyone wanting the RTX 3080 model.
This laptop is absolutely stunning and never of thought they would stuff a 3080 in a 14’’ laptop even if it’s the weakest 3080 available.

I almost...almost pulled the trigger on the new Blade 14 w/ 3060. I resisted the urge and will wait for real user reviews first. Currently own the Asus G14 w/ 3060 and love it. Reasons why I didn't pull the trigger yet:

-Battery: Razer lists it as 61.6WHr. The G14 has 76WHr. I don't expect the Blade to match the G14 in battery life, we'll see. I routinely get 11+ hours doing office and web work.
-dGPU disable: Armoury Crate lets me completely disable the dGPU in the G14 when I don't need it. Awesome feature. Really hope Razer allows the same.
-Silent mode: On the G14 there is a true silent mode where the fans are both off. No idea yet if this will be possible on the Blade.
-Heat: Very interested to see if the lack of LM on the Blade has significant impact.
-GPU throttle: I like that the Blade is using a 100w TGP variant of the 3060. New vBIOS update for the G14 has mine constantly running at 80w when gaming and thermals are very good. I can't see the GPU constantly boosting to 100w in the Blade considering the design. Again, we'll see.

I'll be lurking and awaiting reviews here, this could be my perfect laptop and dethrone the G14.

That's a less than 15% increase in capacity over the Blade Stealth. I have to imagine battery life will be comparable or less than that laptop given the doubling of the core/thread count in the 14.

I wouldn't expect this considering the option doesn't exist on any other Blade, or indeed most gaming laptops. While I'm not a fan of Asus laptops any more, this is a nice value-add for the consumer. It saves having to worry about rogue programs that might activate the dGPU when you don't want.

On Blades I've owned, the fans do remain off on battery in whatever the standard performance mode is. Can't imagine this will be any different unless they completely mess up the thermal solution.

I returned a Zephyrus G15 due to terrible thermals, despite it also having liquid metal. I would hope the Blade does better, but again, I'm not counting on it given the overall size and internal components.

100W is going to be the maximum, so the GPU will likely be 80-85W most of the time.

Anyone know what type of performance we should expect from a 100W 3070 ?
I currently have a Legion i7-9750H RTX 2070MQ and was wondering how much a improvement we might get. The Lenovo still works great but I want to see a performance increase and not just a lateral move with similar performance in a smaller more portable sized laptop.

Probably performance is around g15 3070, it’s also 80-100 Watt tgp, don’t hope on unlockable HX CPU, maybe would similar with HS one, due Razer power limitation and cooling limitation. But on cpu side it’ll perform better than your intel 6 cores, especially on productivity.

Here’s a screen shot of an out of box performance on the G15. I’d expect the Blade 14 with 3070 to be roughly the same. That is of course the vapor chamber can handle the cpu. Even with liquid metal the 5900HS would run hot in some games. But that had a normal heat sink. So long as you can run the fans at full speed and a good repaste I think this will be a good combination.

As long as it’s a significant boost over my RTX 2070MQ I’m good .
    That’s actually pretty impressive.
I suspect for gaming loads the 5900HX will have a hard limit , while still very good will most likely be WATT limited in some way and with workloads that are not gaming be unleashed.
Thermals will be make or break point for most interested in this laptop.

From my 8750H and 1070maxq it’ll be a significant boost on all departments despite soldered ram, performance wise maybe almost 50% boost. From 9750H 2070maxq, not sure, maybe on cpu department, it’s 10,4K overall timespy score on 3080 model according ign and 7,3K on 3060 model according rogame earlier leak, so somewhere between it.

Well this is the top 2070 Max-q with 108750H. CPU wise the Blade 14 would curve stomp it. Gpu. . .Yeah I think it would still out perform it. But in the size of Ultrabook. I think that's the key thing that will impress me. The Blade 14 is not that much bigger than a Blade Stealth.

Isn’t the 3060 on the G14 only 80W TGP ? I wouldn’t believe any leaks and wait for actual reviews.
This Razer has 100W TGP on all GPU’s so it should perform significantly better if it can keep thermals under control, also RAZER laptops someway usually outperform laptops with the same exact hardware , that I still can’t figure out how they manage that.

I’m wondering if they’re 100w with dynamic boost? Or are they pulling an HP and locking it at 100w. If it’s the latter it will definitely be a good thing. Dynamic boost is just cancer and needs to be removed from all laptops.

Yeah, G14 is 80w with dynamic boost. If the Blade gets locked to 100w that would be awesome. Agree re: dynamic boost. Can't wait to start seeing actual reviews.

That was maybe not optimized driver, synapse, preproduction unit, someone bored and uploaded it for etc reasons. Take also a look on ssd size it’s still 512gb unlike retailer unit 1Tb. I think we all know that we all shares here 3DMark max out performance with all possibility background apps closed, and OC memory and core clock as high it can. who leaked that maybe also watching tiktok while running it, who knows :D

Well, I decided to bite the bullet and just placed an order for the Blade 14 with RTX 3060. No need for a QHD screen on a 14" laptop, much prefer FHD. I am just a sucker for the 14" Blade, it has always been my ideal laptop.

Wow, you have 3060 g14 right. That’ll be a great comparison though, if you can share us which one is the best from real user point of view. Yes, you brought me with vistarshook to this I remember. As i told before I was hoping they redesign or bring back that sweet back lid lines design from old blade 14, after blade 15 stealth 13 2019, now this it’s kind bored having same looking laptops in this 3 years.

Yes, I had the 2020 and now 2021 G14. My main concerns will be battery life and fan noise. I'm hoping to at least get 7-8 hours of battery for office work, which should be realistic? I really hope the Blade runs silent when idling just like the G14 does. The 2021 G14 is my all time favorite laptop so far, Asus really nailed it.

Yes, I remember you and vistar from the Blade GTX 1060 days, good times modding those bios files. I haven't logged into the Razer Insider forums since then haha. I am for sure going to test bios modding again with this new Blade to see what can be enabled / disabled and also see if I can flash higher wattage vbios for the 3060. With my G14 it is impossible to flash a higher TGP 3060 vbios, no matter the bios file or version of Nvflash.

Fingers crossed I get a good screen with no dead pixels.

If you can tweak g14 to 10 hours, I think there’s thread about that somewhere, I think it’s reliable expecting that battery run time since it has smaller 61wh. Blade with silent on idle, hmm I think it’s only on book 13 or stealth the later one sometimes kicking in for some reason like 15, but barely noticeable due weaker fans, hopefully it’s only intel matters not on AMD. I like g14 as well but the price here is insane, 3060 is €2300, 2060 is discounted but still from €1700 to €2000.
So we’ve here 3 different models pre orderers, can’t wait to see the performance differences and how the cpu and gpu running on such small form factor.

Yeah unfortunately but someone maybe soon upload it, from Razer subreddit, he bought directly from SF Razer store apparently, but again doesn’t know what Timespy is LoL.
However for cpu performance there’re some Geekbench 5 uploaded.

Not the best on 5900HX 7000 to 7700 scores range, beaten by legion 7 and alienware ryzen edition, some asus g14 ryzen 9 score if not worse same or better but as far I know it’s liquid metal, and since it’s already long out, maybe users tweaked performance as well. But I think it beats blade pro 10875H Geekbench if not similar.
    For open cl,

here also range differently but some can catch 3070 on base blade 15, which’s not bad for the form factor. Lower score might be running ac power scroll it down there’re other scores , I think this’s same person on Razer subreddit, he waited macbook 14 but it didn’t come so he can’t hold the horses and get anything on 14 inch form factor :D when I’m not wrong.
