Check your email - they sent it to everyone.
Here's the link to the video.
Doh! Requires RealPlayer. I already System Restored back to before I installed RealPlayer. It really mucked around with my system. I'm off to try RealPlayer Alternative.
-
Use IE and WMP. Worked fine for me.
-
It's at the same place that you went to watch the live show. The link now points to the archived show.
-
so are we going to find out the results on the 5th of november? or is there going to be a BSOD involved with that too lol jk
-
That's my favorite laptop selling point ever: "smells fantastic."
Now, back to trying to buy a new computer...or should I just roll the dice on being super-lucky in a month? -
-
Just watched it, good job. Though I thought it would be longer.
-
The drop and water pour was a bit sad...but at least they answered my question LOL
-
Hey sorry to ask a silly question but...
In the first post you showed a Thinkpad 700c, is that the first Thinkpad ever?
Just wondering, are those worth anything like as a collector's item or anything? Just wondering because I noticed that I have one of those, in good working and cosmetic condition.
I'm not sure if it is a 700 or 700c but I definitely have that same laptop, it's at home in a case, someone gave it to me years ago, it was old even back then and they didn't want it. -
wow pretty nice hellbore, you can probably like donate it to a museum or something for some cash. But I am sure someone would always buy things as collector's items. People will buy anything if told that its worth something.
-
Hehe yah... I should take it to school instead of my T61 and see if anyone notices hahaha...
I can be stylin with my Windows 3.1 in class...
It was a cool little laptop, very well made, I think it has a trackpoint (aka nipple) but no touch pad, those weren't invented yet apparently -
-
Hmm, ok. So I'm trying to watch this online on my iMac (on a 6 Mbps, 802.11g wireless connection), through the link provided in the email. I'm getting good audio, but the video is essentially a slideshow, with each slide changing every 3 seconds or so. In effect, 0.3fps. I'm not quite sure what the problem is....
-
The linked video from the email I received worked prefectly for me...
Aside from the mismatched audio/video at first, but it fixed itself shortly thereafter. -
Just watched it. Good show mark! Good job.
-
I do not have real player is there any other way to watch it?

Yeah, the drainage holes was pretty cool. But The drop was a bit dissapointing. And no one stood on the thinkpad.
-
Whats teh date that the drawing will be held on again? Also, as long as we recieved the video email, we're registered right?

The leather probably costs $2k itself?
-

Its also a limited edition notebook. Anyone can go buy a Thinkpad with those specs, but only a few people can buy one that is bound in leather and has a special edition type things going on.

The drop test was weak. He stooped over to drop it from a lower height, plus it was dropped onto a thick plushy rug, AND he dropped it onto his foot.
WEAK SAUCE! Lame drop test. Oh well I guess they were too scared to do a more extreme test. Booooo!
The water test was pretty cool but they should have done something on the laptop after both tests to prove it was working properly. For all we know it coulda been a fake laptop with only 1 constant display lol... -
Does anyone know who won??
-
Not until Nov. 2nd.

I suppose that is true, but the entire idea of the economy is that things are worth what you are willing to give up. That idea only works because resources are scarce. When we take the resource as a laptop, and the "what you are willing to give up" as money, we get a classic supply and demand curve. When there are less of an item than what people would buy if there were lots of them, the price goes up, in this case to $5000 (though that was set by Lenovo, but it would happen in the economy anyway).

I can't even watch the darn video. I'm registered and tested my system and received a pass on everything. What's the problem? Anyone know how I can choose to play this video in WMP instead of Real?
-
Use Internet explorer. Then WMP will work.
-
So..... who won?
-
I don't know...but I do not think the drawing occurred yet. People technically still have 8 minutes left in the day (I think the contest ends @ 12AM EST but do not quote me).
I'm also guessing that they will first contact the winner, authenticate the winner is eligible, and then announce it. Personally, I hope it is me -
do you know who's the winner?.. are they going to send an email to you if you win?
-
Yea, they will send an email to you on the 5th (Monday) if you have won. Thats what it said in the contest rules, at least.
-
They will send ME an email cuz I know I won!!!
-
Good morning all, I haven't gotten any email =(
lol, so anyone get the email yet? -
Looks like they must've lost my entry after all.
