I'm going to ask a stupid question. I assume that the S6510 has a microphone BUILT IN with the webcam?
I have the S6231 that i love, but the fact that it doesn't have a built in mic drive me NUTS.

    Yeah, the S6510 has a built-in microphone.

Thanks. Does anyone know the resolution of the webcam? Is it the usual 640x480 in video mode? Anyone have any thoughts on the quality?
would like to use it for vid. conf. with Skype.

    thanks

I also hate that it comes with Vista and no XP option.

My S6510 came with both XP and Vista restoration discs. You should be able to use either OS. I haven't used the webcam extensively, but it looked fine when I did use it.

Thanks Ken. I'm deciding between the 6510 and the new Vaio SZ series.

Another question. I assume ALL the S6510 come with a webcam? I'm look at the one on Newegg, and it doesn't list it in the specs, but shows it in the images.
On Cnet's page it says "our configuration came with the optional webcam"....

anyone know ? I emailed newegg, and they uselessly told me "we cannot comment on compatability" !?!?
    thanks

I don't know if all the S6510 models come with a webcam. I purchased the middle model, and it has one.

I just called Fujitsu about the LED backlit display in the S6510. Fujitsu claims that it does not have a LED backlit display, which is surprising. Every review I've read of the notebook stated as much. Customer service was excellent and quick by the way.

Thanks Ken.I'm going with a Vaio. I could not get a straight answer from Newegg, or even Fujitsu as to the camera questions and microphone questions i had.
Too bad for them i guess.

    thanks again.
