This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I'm still seeing the same talk about Crossfire support on the AMD models but the only dv7 models showing up on HP.com are spec'ed with an Intel CPU and a single Mobility HD5650.


    Might be the AMD models get a crossfire option but most likely it's just a Hybrid Crossfire between the IGP and discrete GPU.

    I think the same...I don't see the DV7 getting a Xfire config...that would make the laptop way expensive...

    if the chassis is set up for it, and extra video card shouldn't be too much anywhere from a 200-400 difference.

    I'd pay the extra...it would still be cheaper than other Intel-based Crossfire machines.


    If it means anything (and just to stir the pot a bit) the M880G spec page on AMD.com doesn't list support for Hybrid Graphics like the M780G spec page does.
