Flamenko's just getting angry others are jumping the line and getting it before him.
I honestly think a big part of it is that these people are saying anything to calm people down and get them off the phone. Because they're not responsible for the problems and can't really do much about it, except to make their own lives a little freer of complaints.

Nice wink at the end of that Chuck.. and yes frustrated but not at the time, but rather what we have all gone through. Im not alone, just probably the most persistent in figuring it out; this comes from my true to life occupation im sure and the fact that Im an A personality type.
As for time of arrival, Ill leave that for now lets just say...more to come Im sure.
I just find it amusing because, I have read, and read and reread about the US orders and next day shipping being granted for free....yet not one person has a system yet.
Maybe tomorrow...we will see... -
ordered mine on 6/30, still has the estimated ship date of 8/17

The reason I like it is that my computer will spend less time in the back of a truck, and being thrown around. The less time it is in transit the less time it can get beaten up. -
Try replacing the following with whatever they told you "We f'd up the pricing on it and so we'll pretend there are tech issues" -
They didn't give a technical explanation other than it had failed tests with the M1330 configuration.
I guess it could have been because they got the price wrong, or many other reasons, but you would have thought they would have picked the most innocent explanation if they were going to lie. Saying that there are technical problems with that chipset and the M1330 just makes me think *uhho* ... "what if they haven't tested everything else properly"?
At least if it was only a pricing error they could charge me more... and i would just think "oh well, at least it works". In short, saying there is a technical problems instil less confidence in me than if they had have said pricing. As such, I’m not sure why they would say it’s a technical issue if it really is pricing.
But hey, you’re a notebook consultant and I’m a newbie – what do I know! -
They wouldnt cancel because of the price because you are still guaranteed the orig price/configuration that was cancelled..
Thats what Im led to believe. -
I would guess its more to do with compatabilty problems. Zepto had some trouble with the T7500/T7700 before.
It might get too hot..
Who knows? -

woot -- just checked my order status and not only has it shipped, it's waiting for me at home
-
-
-
Can you also post some unboxing photos? I'd like to pretend that I actually received mine and go through that initial "just-got-it" satisfaction
-
Woo, they are now shipping in general! ( Direct2Dell via electronista via Gizmodo) Although it looks like some of those of us who ordered the LED screen might be waiting until mid-August or so.
-
it's by no means done, but here's a quick review I've written (unboxing, simple usage, etc)
http://www.jrin.net/reviews/dell-xps-m1330/
it's mostly just pictures, and comparisons to the m1210 -- I'll be writing up more about actual usage within the next few days! -
Nice review so far. Looking forward to the full breakdown
-
Thanks for the review. Was the case listed on your packing slip?
-
nope -- it was a total (nice) suprise
-
How about a video review ?
-
-
yah, I know -- I do like it though, I just really can't afford it haha -- but I am going to review it further (tomorrow night).

With regard to not being able to see the hard drives when trying to install vista:
Go to the bios and change the sata controller. It will either be AHCI or SATA..try and swtich them.
When you do it will tell you that you need to disable something else to do so (cant remember what it is, but i think its something to do with vista turbo memory stuff)
Find that and disable it and then change the sata controller.
Now when you run the xp installation is will find the hard drives.
Had to do it with a D630's and it took me a while to figure it out -
Indeed the irony. One of the first 'real' xps machine i've seen and he wants to return it! hehe
Has anyone also noticed that all the ones that seem to have shiped are Black? -
good!! mines black
-
lucky I went for the crimson red - probably a mistake aside from just the slow shiping!
-
-

Just checked my order status and it says shipped, so i should get in 3-5 days.

congratulations, now start to write your review -
What I'd like to know is how much the fan runs when the laptop is idle or mostly idle. I'm easily annoyed by constant noises.

Engadget has the news as to why there are delays on the XPS M1330. Dell is having problems painting the covers. In short, black is good, white is bad (now discontinued) and red has been a problem but can be solved. Thank god I got black from the Dell Canada site. It shipped out 2 days ago.
