Yeah, mine is just next to me, but i have to wait for 1-2 hours before i can power it up because the 9400 is still to cold, maybe the UPS Guy has no heater in his truck ;) and right now it's really cold in good old Germany.

My first impression so far, really a little beauty, can't wait to push the power button !

I'm so glad people are getting their computers. It's very reassuring. I know the delivery person that covers my house, and she is going to make sure that if a laptop comes for me, it stays out of the cold.

Mine has a Samsung Screen, the SEC5557.
If you trigger up the brightness it's a picture that you have to been seen to believe it.
    Simply outstanding !

I trust you are using the Dell drivers for these scores? The 3dMark05 score is low. Apparently this score should be in the 5000 range with the mobileforce drivers.

    How's your screen?

    Didn't see your scores below...<doh>

I agree flames, you should be around the 5000 mark I would think...my specs are in my sig and the score that I got. I should be able to get about 100 more marks if I close my anti-virus program while running 3dMark05.

I was just reading this thread and my doorbell rang. It was Purolator with my 9400 :). Earlier than I expected. I may be the first in Canada to get one which would makes sense as I was told I was the first to order one. Anyway, I guess I should go check it out.

Hey USAFdude, how do you like your WXGA+? I'm curious because everyone is buying/talking about the WUXGA (1920x1200), but I ordered the 9400 with the smaller resolution (1440x900). Are there Samsung screens in those ones as well?

Edit: Newfinator, you got me beat. Mine's still in production, with an estimated ship date of Feb 1. My free Dell printer should be here today, tho.

Now that's more like it!!! Is this with a fresh build of Windows XP (Home, Pro or Media Edition?). What exactly did you do to the laptop from the time you first turned it on and this score?

Thank you soooo much. I'm very happy for you (and a little jealous)....

I love it...the only reason I went for the WXGA+ is because the framerates for the 1440x900 are going to be higher because they aren't taxing the card as much. Plus I when I looked at the one in the mall I didn't like the reflectiveness of it. I take my computer outside and play on it and that would just irratate me.

I access it like this. 'Settings for the screen', then go to the screen were you can set the resolution. Click 'advanced settings'. There you go to the screen called 'GeForce Go 7800'. Click 'settings for clockfrequency' on the new menu on the left. 'Manual overclock' and then 'identify optimal settings' :)

Would be kinda exciting to be first above 6k ;)

you are going to have to change your tag line now. :)

edit: Ya much better :) tag.

will dell drivers i noticed(from posts) core was at 260, now i see 380. But, on nvidia website it says core is 400. So no i do not think anything is overclocked yet :)

but if 380 is optimum then the graphc chips must be a wee bit underperforming.

heh, then again i may be offbase. Afterall, i can only do this(play with 9400) virtually still...and live through others :)

Redstar, the XG I believe refers to the Xtreme-G drivers used for overclocking. Using the dell drivers doesn't show "XG" (from what I've seen of the screenshots).

Also, for those who are wondering, the notebooks are being shipped from Austin, Texas. I received an email from Dell stating it's 2-3 business days for delivery to Canada.

Yay! Mine is in "Quality Testing" - who knew 2 weeks could seem so long :)

Hmm, i just checked the option menu for the 7800go on my german Dell 9400.
There is no option to apply any overclocking ?
Are you still using the original Dell driver for the card ?

    Killbee,

Dell has it locked if I remember correctly. Get the mobileforce drivers, it will be alot easier and you can auto-detect the highest settings.

well i bought the 1920x1200...i guess I really like the high res and glossy screen. Its all a matter of personal taste tho.

I will mainly be using the high res for really crisp games and movies.

Same thing over here, 1900. It's kinda difficult though to deside when you can't look at the screen before you buy it.

I haven't done any clocking myself, the Mobileforce drivers did it for me. Guess i'll try to step up a bit more tomorrow, i really want a mouse too, havin a hard time with the touchpad :)

Anyone know a good prog. to undervoltage the processor? Thought i'd try that out too.

    EDIT

Also, i got some probs with the network connection, or the lack of it :) I have both my old computer(wired network) and my 9400(wireless) connected to my Netgear router, i can access the internet with both computers, but i can't get into one computer from the other. Could anyone please explaine to me how i should do? In a very simple way, thank you :)

    fredrikandersson,

If you already set up the network, then the Windows Firewall is blocking it...I just shut off the firewalls and then when I got into the other computers, I just mapped it as a network drive. I put the firewalls back up and poof...I have access from anywhere in my house...to files and my printers.

Make sure both computers belong to the same workgroup (right click my computer, choose properties, click on the Computer Name Tab etc.).

Make sure both computers have file sharing turned on (you may want to setup advanced security around this)

Try clicking in your Windows Explorer address bar and type:

    \\your_computer_name

Browing through My Network Places for computers doesn't always co-operate. Once you connect it will just add a link to it there anyways.

Still not working? Try pinging each computer from a commond prompt (by ip and by computer name). Can you ping?

I'm sure others will have comments or direct you to the appropriate board for answers.

Unfortunately i don't have any newer games, due to the lack of performande in my old computer :p The only new game i got is NFS: Most Wanted, and it doesn't run properly even on the lowest settings on my old one :) Guess i gotta go purchase some new games tomorrow.

    EDIT

I liked the fact that i could use my cellphone as a remote, since it lacked the remote 'out of the box'. And i looked very quickly at the Dell Media Experience, and i thought it looked good. Now i just need some music and movies so i can use it for real :)
