It's nice to finally see such a powerful graphics card coming to a 15.4 inch laptop. If there is a keypad there too, then I would love to buy that system. Unfortunately, I still think Alienware systems are extremely ugly. They're not as bad as Dell's m1730, but they're still ugly. Hopefully this sets a new industry trend. I don't plan to upgrade for another 2 years or so.

I don't think anyone posted it yet, but I may of missed it. In any case, did anyone get a look at the dimensions on the M15x when it was up? It's looking to me (because of the 8700M-GT option) that they've gone the route of putting the same motherboard in the 15" and 17" versions (like they did with before), so I'm wondering if they also went as far to put the same cooling in. (Weight should be some indication).

    The guy has a point,

They could of done it up like Dell did the original XPS Gen 1 (Now there is a monster). However the pictures used for the colors don't look it at all.

    I wonder about 2 things:
    1) how will these little beasts handle heat...
    2) will the fans be noisy as hell or quiet as a whisper ?

If they can pass the test, I'm sure a lot of people will throw in 2.5K to get one fully equipped...
The SLI m17x seems a bit expensive, but the 15x is kinda decent priced...

Point taken. Probably not very much, but shader intesive games like Crysis kneel the 7950 at high details. I'm pretty sure that the 8800M GTX , which has quite a big ammount of stream processors(96) should prove to be at least a fair 30% better than the 7950GTX, and with DX10 support.

8700GT, which has TDP of 35 W is MXM III.
8800M GTX , which has a (hypotethycal) TDP of 35, is also MXM III.
    We cool? :D

Docking would be nice. I wonder-these have smart bay options, which also appear on many Dell models, so maybe we can hope? Also nice if the smart bay will hold a second battery.

No it isn't. The D901C uses a desktop processor, the M17x doesn't. I'd say that it was just the Santa Rosa refresh of the Uniwill P800 or whatever the M9750 is based on.

heh I won't be getting a new laptop for like 4 years not so this whole thing realldy doesn;t affect me. I'll build a desktop in a couple years when some new components are released and then upgrade my laptop a couple years after that so i'm just saying that would suck for qanyonoe who is so excited for this laptop

Alienware took the page down shortly after it was discovered. The systems likely will not be up on Alienware's site until Nov. 19th, the date of their launch event in NY.

Thats what I said..... :p  Ok, maybe not, but I got the point across ;)

The cached custom build page was a great find. What I find more kickass than the 8800GTX itself, is the pricing of the 8700GT - its a no brainer at $150 and a reasonably good option for the M15x. Granted, the whole point of the notebook is the 8800GTX in a 15.4" form factor, but still.

Guys. Go to page 9 and it has the two links for both of the notebooks. The way I did it is that google has a nifty feature called "cache", so I went to the cached version of the website, and gave you guys the links :)

How interesting , there is always some slip with hyped releases .

Thanks for Dreamer and Stone for the links , it looks like 1999$ for 15" with 8800GTX and thats with AW premium prices .

As said it looks like the current Arima which means the 8800GTX could fit into current notebooks including the M570RU .

I'd dare to guess ( without any specs or decent photos ) the 15x could be just a 15" panel in a 17" form factor , just look at the Qosmio F45 .

Btw anyone else noticed the hybrid drive offering ?

Yea, I saw the HHD option. I'd get it because its got double the capacity of the standard HDD, and is the cheapest HDD option. I'm really not sure of the benefits of the HHDs in general, but at least its an improvement, if only slight.
