Notebook Review is not the same community it used to be.
The administration has made the decision to allow false information to infest the forum, to the point where false information is stated as truth by other members. The moderators are sure to punish those who actually stand for truth, in this sea of lies known as notebookreview.
This forum has become a disgrace which I will not stand for.

A more elegant solution would have been to connect a transistor/mosfet or relays to the switch which detects if the display is opened or closed or to the num lock or caps lock LED on your keyboard. This way you wouldn't have needed the second switch (and ruin the paint job
) and could have turned it on or off more elegant.
I also don't understand why you use such a huge fuse and haven't just bought a SMD fuse to replace the old.
But still I adore you that you modify your notebook. And the green LEDs also look great. -
Wow! Let me say that again, Wow! That's fantastic work. Have you given any thought to trying to backlight the keyboard in the same fashion?
-
That came out great! Now you just need to put some finishing touches on it so the button doesn't look like a cheap add-on.
-
Dude, please tell me your going to touch up that button?
Epic work so far nonetheless
Maybe you could contact AMD or Voodoo and get a grant off them? lol -
Looks awesome!btw, what is that octo-core thing in your sig?
-
Also, how much money did you spent on this voodoo?

K-TRON,
man that case looks so good why don't you just mod it to allow a quality mobo install.? just tired of dickering with it ? anyway i still think it looks great and you did a fine job of it !! -
Don't be disheartened K-TRON
You've done something that nearly everyone, including myself, would never even dare to do.

I'm not going to counsel against knocking Clevo for all time; however, I would suggest that you not kick yourself too hard because you've actually accomplished quite a lot - as Manic Penguins put it, more than most of us would ever dare to do. Also, I wouldn't begrudge the cost too, too much because, after all, you know have the sort of experience and knowledge base that most people have to spend thousands more to get at a technical college, and more importantly, you have knowledge that is both based on actual hands-on, and is real knowledge, not just memorized data, because you had to figure everything out on your own. And, at any rate, humans don't generally learn from their victories so much as from their mistakes - the more mistakes you make, the more you learn.
So, congratulations on a most magnificent failure! -
So you are using this laptop for lightning purpose only ^_^

Hi K-TRON,
You definitely seem to be the most experienced Envy user out there! I have a question and was hoping to get your input on it.
I just got an Envy myself, and I absolutely love it except for one thing... the noise. It's a pretty noisy little thing and I was hoping there was a way to make it run more quietly. Do you know of some way to do this, or is there a fan control driver/software tool? I guess I'm asking, do you have any advice for me?
Thanks! -

Did you paint it before you cut it? You should probably paint the edges of what you cut out if you are a perfectionist.
