As Ken said, try fiddling with the settings of TruStudio pro. I definitely improved my sound quality and volume with this.

AND what can i do if its no that to lower my temps. thanks!

    Hello guys,
I have long lasting problem with my MSI GT70 which i was not able to solve yet. Now im getting hectic BSODs just randoms ones, some IQRL not equal or less, some memory management, and all sorts of BSODs. It wasnt always this case I didnt suffer from this issue before. I didnt install any new hardware on my pc since then, and not ever drivers on the intel and nvidia ones. I ran the Microsoft memory diagnostic tool and I tells me that i have memory hardware problems. I tried to remove my 2 corsair vengeance ram sticks and ran the test again and still same result. The weird things is that i only have 2 ram sticks in the pc, my total ram is 16gbs, the sticks say each is 8gb, but even when i remove both my system still boots and shows 8 gbs of ram installed. I cant find the other sticks or i dont know whats the issue. Anyway any help is highly appreciated. And Ken when you read this please reply, I need help. Thanks in advance all!

Thanks, but for the DvD Drive, the opening is angled to match the slope of the lower case. All of the optical drives I see for sale have a rectangular face. Is there a way to swap the face for the one I have on the GT70, or will it just never line up properly?

Hello again, here is a sample of what i get using the memtest ram checker utility. not that i have 1 of my ram sticks removed. my ram is 16gb corsair vengeance at 1866mhz. I have 2 sticks of ram that i can actually access, and even if i remove both i still see 8 gbs of ram installed on my unit. i dont know how to get to the other 2 slots. any help would be great.

Not sure if you do need to remove as much as you see on the video/pdf, i bet one of the reseller can confirm this as they have much more experience with upgrading the ram.

Sometimes you just get the bad pick of the batch. Depending on the manufacturer you may have warranty.

Yes you can remove the face of the DVD drive and attach the one of your laptop. It has 2 or 3 small points to press and release. Just be patient and ask for some pics and instructions from your reseller so you can see which 3 points are. Ken will gladly help you out.

You can just remove the bezel from GT70 and put it in the new drive:

Depending on the drive you may want to have the tray ejected to get it off.

Has anyone here used the GT70's HDMI out to a HDTV and the picture had no color.

I choose duplicate displays and the laptop looks fine but the TV image looks like garbage.

Try messing around with the video settings on your graphics control panel, maybe your TV can't take, for example RGB signals of a particular type? Also check your TV and cable to ensure everything is correctly set up.

You are welcome :D glad I could help. Messing with TV's is one of the most common issues I have with relatives I know. They all hooked their computers to their HD tvs, but every single brand has different settings etc to fiddle with. The worst are those TVs with pseudo support for 1080p content but need to downscale and then use a weird resolution...

I can't deny that the brushed aluminum feels nice. However, I like the feel of the barebone cover too, that plastic finish feels much better than the older versions.

Assuming this was true, it would require 3 SATA III ports routed to an adapter which would require a different connector.

GT70 doesn`t have anymore than 2 SATA3 ports, so its impossible to accomplish since you need three of them

But you say that when the gt70 comes with 2x msata and a 750gb drive then would that not require 3 sata slots? So maybe it is possible.

    GT70 have 2 HDD bays.

In bay #1: mSATA Raid0 card where you can insert 3 * mSATA SSDs. All connected to a SATA3 port.
In bay #2: Room for 1 Regular sized SSD/HDD

The Intel HM67 and HM77 platforms support only 2 SATA III 6GB/s devices.

The HM87 has support for 6 SATA III 6GB/s devices.

It looks like Clevo/Sager is getting into the mSATA Raid also in some of their Haswell platform models .

Two quick questions about my new MSI GT70 0NE-446US (which I love).

    1) Do the Steel series illuminated keyboard keys pop off and back on "easily"? My "2/@" key on the main keyboard is flaky. I have to push it down firmly to get it to take. All the other keys take a nice light press on the corners or center and they work. But the 2 key requires a firm press in the center. Not sure if I can pop it off, look for something blocking it up (pretty much came out of the box with the 2 key problem, but I need the laptop too much to send back).

    2) Anyone had problems with Windows 8 and putting the GT70 to sleep? I close the lid and it flashes the orange light, and after 10 - 15 minutes it just wakes up with the lid closed. I have turned off the "wake on" feature on everything that has it in the device manager (network, mouse, keyboard, etc). When it wakes up I can just open the lid, and reclose it, and then it stays asleep. But the first time always seems to fail. I looked in the system logs, and it looks like the bluetooth is crashing during the suspend, and I suspect the re-awakening may have something to do with that. But am curious if others have any thoughts?

Do you have a mouse connected? The sleep mode will trigger awake by mouse-click action... but won't by the left click on touchpad

Yes, but I have disabled the wake feature on it. I can move the mouse, click it, etc. Doesn't do anything when asleep. So I don't think it is that. As I said, I went through the device manager and disabled the wake feature on anything that supported it.

Hey guys, maybe you can help me...

On the first post striker writes that svet's bios tuner is compatible with the 680m - yet when I go to his thread, I can't see any updates that say that it is. A few people inquire towards the end of the thread, and he says the mobiles aren't supported yet. So what's up?

Also I'm wondering if with the new BIOS / EC updates if it is even necessary. What does Svet's tool gain us? I still haven't flashed to the new BIOS / EC. I'm doing a fresh install as we speak. GT70-0NE-276. Thanks!

Anyone notice any excessive micro stuttering in games especially Skyrim? I did a search and saw it’s a common problem. It also happens in bioshock infinite and even old games like Portal. Usually it will last for about 1.5 seconds occuring every 10-16 seconds or so. I did a clean install of win8 awhile back but can’t remember if the issue occurred before. I bought my unit in October and have not updated the bios or firmware. Is it recommended at this point?

Thanks I figured it out. I wasn't actually experiencing micro stuttering. The issue was that I had the games running on my laptop screen and my plasma. Although I do notice a very minimal stutter sometimes in Skyrim now that I look but nothing that really bugs me.

Is it even worth it to update the bios and EC at the moment? What did they actually fix for win8?

    Hey guys

I'm very inexperienced so I shouldn't have done this but..
I decided to flash some vbios on my gtx 680m using nvflash on a bootable dos usb drive, but now my laptop isn't even detecting the gtx 680m in device manager. It's still visible in Nvflash though (nvflash --index)
What should I do? Can this be fixed?

Svet does not yet have support for the GTX680M. He's been working on it for a while, and in all honesty I would not hold your breath. Svet's a very busy person.

You would be better off heading to techinferno if you're really that interested in overclocking your GTX680M.
