lol need moar vbiorz?
just use Nibitor and I believe you can take the voltage from 1.05 to 1.1v
or buy some sheets of copper and rebuild the heatsink yourself for the better cards.
btw I think moral meant 2700m not 2800m -

I didn't keep my old vbios collection for the 9600m GT, but niffcreature is right that it's best to mod it yourself to get what you want with nibitor.
If you upload your vbios here we can help you mod it if you want.
The 9600m GT will go to 1.16V, not sure how hot that will be. -

There could be a 2800m in mxm 2.1, because its basically a 55nm 9800m GT. but the only laptop I've seen with it is the lenovo w701 and hp 8740w which are both mxm 3.0.
on the other hand, hey there are 9800m GS mxm 3.0 so who knows whats out there. -
Hi all, this is my question:
I want to upgrade my cpu, and i've been watching the intel X9100 but on ebay i've seen the intel core E8435, that have the same specifications but 100$ cheaper.
</title><meta name="description" content="Compra Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile E8435 3.06GHz 6M 1066 SLAQD CPU en la categoría Computers Networking, Computer Components, CPUs de eBay España."><meta name="keywords" content="Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile E8435 3
Is this cpu compatible with the gx620 chipset?
thanks to all and sorry for my english -

It's a notebook cpu. Similar to X9100.
-
thanks for your quick response.
-
It seems it's a mac specific processor, you may face compatibility issues. Also, you may need another A/C adapter for that extra wattage (E8435 -> 55W. P7350 -> 25W). And even if you solve that problems it could happen that your lappie can't cool it down.

They usually aren't any more stressful than overclocking an x9100 or q9200.
Please check the wikipedia page "list of core 2 duos" though. The 44w ones are manageable, although warm. The 55w ones, on this laptop, are not. Very hot.
P. S. that probably is a desktop CPU. You meant e8435. They all end in 35 and start with 8.
IMHO e8235 is the best value, I got one for a price I would expect of something 2.1ghz or so.
P. P. S.
On the subject of "2.1ghz" and TDP, consider that a t6600 CPU is highly likely to have better value and lower TDP when overclocked. Mine would run at 2.9ghz stable and STOCK voltage (I was able to set it from 200 to 266mhz FSB).
The only the E series has value is the factory set stock clock. The TDP is so high and they are such low binned chips that an even cheaper p8400 or other 45nm CPU is likely to be stable on ~1.15v or less. Stock voltage of all E series is 1.2v + -
Has anyone ever tried to swap out the GX620 motherboard, the cpu and gpu for a GX640 motherboard, cpu and gpu....my motherboard recently died and I was thinking this would be a great project to do for an upgrade.
I'm thinking it's possible cause they both have the same laptop "shell" the only difference is the internal components. -

Just out of curiosity, how did your motherboard die?
-
Ya know I don't really know...I took it to a computer repair shop and they diagnosed it and said the motherboard died and needs to be replaced. When I turn it on all it does is go to a blank black screen, no POST or anything...nothing is wrong with the hard drive cause I took it out and put it in a hard drive dock and it shows up fine on my other computer.

Its more likely the graphics card, you know. You should try to test another MXM II card.
Umm, its pretty easy to upgrade to the gx640 motherboard. There is pretty much just 1 kinda crazy thing you have to do... This is cut out your gx620 CPU mounting.
The CPU mounting is built into the palmrest, just under the keyboard. This is why it must be removed. The gx640 uses a backplate attached to the motherboard instead.
Unfortunately, I don't think you'll be able to find that motherboard for sale anywhere. And you have to buy a new heatsink. It would cost more than a used gx640.
If you are interested, I have an extra gx620 motherboard, and it supports quad cores. -
-
GTX 260m should work in the 620 if you get a heatsink from a gt627/628. But maybe the HDMI won't work as it doesn't work in my machine... Thank god the vga works fine.
-
Does anyone know where to get a replacement keyboard for a gx620? Our dog ate the w, s, z, x, c, function and windows keys on ours this evening...
-
niffcreature ex computer dyke
Actually the best value you can get right now is a fx 3600m especially if you are international. But yes, unfortunately the heatsink costs as much as the card.
Maybe you should buy moral hazards heatsink, you need it more than me
The cards from the 640 will not work.
If you want to just get it working again, try this:
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 MXM II 256MB DDR2 | eBay -

The ATi card is just for test your motherboard. If it works then the vga is the problem. If it doesn't the motherboard is the problem.

Fact: The msi 1651 will pass POST and get into windows with no GPU installed.
Just take out the GPU. Disconnect the CMOS battery. Then turn on the notebook, press F2 to skip any CMOS errors, then it should go into windows (you will see HDD activity and hear windows sounds).
If that doesn't work, try taking out the ram and only leave 1 stick in the second slot, that may be needed to get it to POST with no GPU. -

It's right near the ram and SB, yellow round battery with a white 2 pin connector.

hello guys, in msi gx620 work x9100 es e0 stepping?
-
First time I write in this forum, but time to time I read it and I think is great, very very useful.
I am having a big problem. It seems my video card got damaged.
I am planning to get the laptop continue working ASAP, so I must manage to get a video card to replacement to the faulty 9600m GT.
I am planning to buy the replacement in eBay or similar and I must spent less than $ 80. You mention the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 MXM II 256MB DDR2, and it seems to be a good one for situation.
My question is, is it necessary to make any bios configuration or similar once I physically replaced the card with the HD 3470??. One ebay seller tells me that the card is preload Acer BIOS.
Do you ever installed the HD 3470 on a GX620?
Thanks in advance. -
Hi guys, just question. Have gx620 sata II or sata III?
-
SataII, the pm45 chipset can't support SataIII.
-
Hi all,
I have a request:
somebody have 1.0S bios ? (for GX620 or ms-1651)
I dig the web for 8h and found nothing
