No, but it can be enable by flashing to the retail model equivalent.(gx620, gt627, etc)
the button is physically there and can be unlocked by doing the above however, the button is not labeled.

Soooo... I really feel like buying the gt627 right now but I'll feel like an idiot if the gt628 drops a few weeks later. I really don't care much about the slight gpu upgrade or the possibility of ddr3 memory, but does anyone have a clue whether there's a chance that the new one will ship with an led backlit display?

There's a distinction between the GT628 and the MS-1651 ID2 right? I hope the August date is only referring to the former...

I'm guessing that the GT628 will be the retail version for sites like newegg, while the ID2 will be the barebone, for sites like RK-computers

They should stick a gtx 260m in there, to compete with clevo/sager, i think it would be great and i'l jump all over it hehe.

The MS-1651 refresh should be available Monday (07/06).

The Pre-configured (GT628) last we heard is late august.

Can RK enable the turbo button before shipping (flushing bios?)?

Oh does the tubro work on quad core? Are the performance gain different between T-series and P-series processors? How about the X-series?

Well from what I know there certainly wont be a Canadian version of the GT628 at mid or late august... :

For example, there is still not a Canadian version of the GT725...

Thats why I'll buy the GT627-217CA... cuz I need a laptop before September and I love this one!

Yea but you can get the US version of these at NewEgg Canada. They used to sel lthe GT627-218 and 216 and they sell the GT725.

NewEgg USA have put the new version of the Asus G50VT-X8 on sale and one week later or two, NewEgg Canada sells it.

And the 217CA is pretty expensive. Can't find it for less than 1550$ + tax + shipping.

Actually the Gt628 will NOT bo coming out to the U.S because it has been discontinued. MSI decided not to have it for the U.S but it is still available elsewhere. This really sucks since I pre-ordered it back in August :( .... Instead MSi will come out with a "replacement" Gt628. Rumor has it that it will be a 15.4 and 17 inch laptop with Intel i7 in it, hope for the best! :)
