What does one have to do in order to book a teamviewer session with @Phoenix ?

I've followed a lot of the guides on here but was just wondering if I missed anything.

Unless I'm misunderstanding your intent, you have to buy a whole new laptop to upgrade to an 8th-generation CPU.

From what I understand is he is happy to have gotten the last piece from the 7700HQ stock at a lower price and his last phrase he is telling others who wish to buy the new version that it's available.

beertokens to @Phoenix? He doesn't use alcohol...

I can't say whether a reasonable donation to his Gratitude fund will persuade him. You will have to tag him again to ask about that.

You see, this is why I love HIDevolution and always recommend them. My laptop hasn't yet arrived from the MSI HQ to HIDevolution and was expected to reach HIDevolution so they can start my build sometime next week.

Today I got an email early morning from @Ted@HIDevolution saying. I didn't even ask for an update, he just emailed me:

Off-course bro, the sooner I get it, the sooner you get your GT73VR Titan Pro with a Silicon Lottery CPU clocked @ 4.4 GHz

Just to show you how the temps are while I'm browsing the web, insane idle temps, you never hear the fans spinning unless you are pushing the system, otherwise it's silent:

PS: I don't use any cooling pad, the laptop just sits on my desk

This is a new information, you didn't mention any Silicon Lottery CPU in your listing, this an added value for sure.

It seems good with no cooling pad, I wish if you can send me the temps when stressed using AIDA64, This is my temps are in my KM1 with different power mode :), it seems any laptops from HID is running coooool :D.

What is a Silicon Lottery CPU? It's just like any other CPU but is cherry picked from a few CPUs as it has been shown to run cooler and clock higher due to its excellent silicon process.

Well, I didn't buy a Silicon Lottery CPU but you must understand that your average 7820HK CPU usually does 4.1 GHz overclock and reaches the same temps shown below if not higher. This CPU can clock up to 4.5 GHz easily with a -30mV undervolt but I chose to keep it safer/cooler @ 4.4 GHz since I run it this way since the day I got it.

Mind you, AIDA64 Extreme Test means this is how the heat will perform under extreme situations where all cores are being tortured at the same time. During gaming or video conversion/encoding the temps are in the mid 80s at max which is insane for a BGA CPU. Remember, the stock speed of the 7820HK is 2.9GHz and the max turbo speed is 3.6 GHz so this is a huge overclock, thus, it is the same as what would be classified a Silicon Lottery CPU.

Also, the temps you posted of your CPU are idle right? coz no way they'd be that low on a stress test.

Here's my AIDA64 Stability test that I ran just now with fans on max blast"

This is a great temps for overclocked BGA, specially stressing the FPU along with CPU, cache and memory.

This is my temps when I'm replying to you now :)
    Edit: with normal cooling pad.

    perfect!! Welcome to the club.

Lemme know once you get it if you want me to help you tweak it. These are the Phoenix Tweaks:

1- Uninstallation of all the Windows Store Garbage Apps like 3D Paint, Print 3D, Alarms & Clock, Feedback Hub, Maps, Groove Music, News, Weather, etc.
2- Removing all Windows 10 Privacy Invasion stuff like Telemetry, sending your keystrokes to Microsoft, automatically installing suggested apps in the background, allowing Microsoft to conduct experiments on your laptop, disabling automatic driver updates through Windows updates, disabling Windows 10 ads, disabling Cortana, Cloud Search etc.
3- Removal of nVIDIA and Intel Telemetry
4- Adjusting a lot of options in PC Settings like disabling Windows Tablet Mode (you have a laptop not a tablet), disabling suggestions appearing in the start menu, disabling automatically connecting to Paid WiFi Hotspots, disabling Game DVR which reduced performance in games, and a lot more.
5- Replacing Cortana with a much better search tool that finds results instantly called Everything which finds any file you want as soon as you start typing even a few letters of its name and it doesn't even rely on the Windows Indexing Service to do this!
6- Restoring the classic Windows Photo Viewer
7- Restoring the Classic Windows 7 Start Menu
8- Removal of the new and useless 3D Objects Folder that appears when you open "Computer"
9- Completely disabling Windows Defender from its roots (including all scheduled tasks and startup files) for those who want to install their own AV. ESET NOD32 Antivirus is highly recommended if you want the utmost security with the least system performance impact.
10- Updating all drivers to the latest versions in case they weren't up to date.
11- Disabling the performance hit that is caused by the Meltdown and Spectre patches recently released by Microsoft (optional, only if you don't mind having this security vulnerability and would rather have your CPU's full performance back)
12- Overprovisioning your SSD anywhere between 10-20% depending on how much space you can spare to ensure optimal and consistent performance at all times.
13- Blocking the Google Chrome Software Reporter Tool (which causes a high system load when it is scanning files)
    14- Updating all drivers
15- Creating a system restoration image using Macrium Reflect

My current laptop's HD started failing today it seems, will have to install windows on the second HD instead. weird timing.

SUPERB MAN! the last thing you'd want is to get a laptop then have buyer's remorse thinking "dang, I wish I paid a bit more and got the better CPU"

you see, I usually go with LGA laptops but the reason I switched to MSI is because they have better screens and keyboards and that matters a lot to me, well, the HK CPUs are the best you can get from the BGA series, they don't have CPU power limitations like the non HK models, are clocked higher stock, and are overclockable, not that you'd need to overclock such a beast of a CPU but just saying! Now we have the exact same laptop :D did you got for the 093 or 094 variant?

Hahah..yes definitely the struggle I had but glad I bit the bullet!
I ended up with the 094 variant...just because I could always add ram later and didn't feel the need for nvme drive..I think those were the main differences, no? In any case, very pleased to have the same base model as you!

My laptop is in production now. The temps are in the low 90s for the CPU and mid 80s for the GPU.

HIDevolution will now do the bottom panel mod which reduces temps by 2-3C

Great, bro. And highly needed. And it look nicer as well. It’s a shame MSI’s engineers didn’t refreshed the cooling the proper way for 50% more cores. And think about all those who buy outside a decent tech Company as HIDevolution. It will be a nightmare both for many of the buyers and the tech support team.

A very good advice for you my good friend/others... Be damn careful downloading and flash new updated firmware after some time (if MSI put in a trap and deny you to reverse to old). It’s a known topic that they can and will try to decrease power with firmware/software if the RMA numbers being higher than what they like.

And post test results with max clocks and temp after the bottom grill mods. BTW... What ram speed can an will be used?

That's why I ordered my taptop from HIDevolution knowing what magic @thattechgirl_viv can do in terms of making the temps lower using Fujipoli pads and this back panel mod which I just now got to know about.

The RAM is Samsung 2666 MHz DDR4. Can you not read my sig bro or are you on your iToy 4?

I can read bruh. And I see it from my small 4” Apple box as well. I talk about “is it tested with higher ram speed as this is a new BGA Cpu with IMC witch should handle it better”. Aka have HID tested if they can run faster ram speed with tweaking.

Maybe @Donald@HIDevolution or @thattechgirl_viv can answer on this. Sorry for bad English. I use the little phone. Only BGA I have outside my router. And I hate it!! Need bigger phone.

Edit. I have said it before... Remove what’s highlighted in red bolded color...

You need an iPhone X d00d.

Also. i don't like RAM Overclocking, even though it may past the synthetic tests, it always caused me issues. Like for example on my old P870DM, when I overclocked the RAM from 2800 to 3000 MHz. Everything was fine but when I play Need For Speed. After a minute or so, the FPS will dip to 2-3 FPS and the game becomes choppy. I spent so much time installing different drivers and VBIOS and even blaming Prema's VBIOS for this when it was all because of my RAM overclock. 2666 MHz from my current 2400 MHz is a nice small bump anyway, I have not the need for RAM overclocking.

It’s a new BGA with refreshed IMC which should handle ram speed a bit better. But I don’t know how screwed up MSI made it.
Let HID test if it’s work. None say they should use up too much time for this. At least it’s tested. Better they do it in-house when they can. If you don’t like it put it back to default as before.

Sorry, not sure I understand. What does this mod on the bottom panel entail?

I don't want to delay my build a single minute. As I said, I am least concerned about RAM overclocking. I wont even overclock my taptop since it's already on the thermal limits at stock clocks with all these mods that I've chosen like Thermal Grizzly Coconut and Fujipoly pads

    1) it involves 2 inch holes being drilled on the back panel
    2) it allows better ventilation on the CPU / GPU

The fans can breathe a bit better. Will lower temp for CPU / GPU but increase temp a bit for the rest of Hardware inside the chassis. But if you use quality ssd’s and they have proper cooling it doesn’t matter.
That’s ok. I won’t talking more about it. I would still love to get some answers from HID on this. I prefer to gather up as much data I can find.
