I might be in the extreme minority, but I am very happy to see another GT60 variant. I've always had a strong affection for that model. :)

I contacted MSI UK on facebook and they said that the GT72 4980 CPU version won't be available in the UK for now. Any news on that? I would hate to buy the 4710 one only to find that the better one becomes available shortly after...

    Hi!

This may be a stupid question as my knowledge of hardware is very limited, but would it be possible to replace the screen on a GT72 2QE by a 120Hz screen?

I have two questions regarding the 4k panel in the GS60 Ghost:
    1) Is this the same panel as in the Lenovo Y50? That part is known to be limited to 48Hz and has problems displaying yellow.
    2) Will the GT60 DominatorPro be refreshed to offer the 4k option as well?

It looks like IPS displays became available at the last minute so they got held back to be fitted with them. This is why we put them up as a pre-order since we are not entirely sure when they will arrive.

I've just seen the GenTechPC review of the GS60 Ghost Pro 3k on YouTube :)

The new gtx970m reached max 78° C on 3Dmark11... it seems pretty good, isn't it? I read that the old GS60 with 870m hits 93° C on heavy gaming..

Currently, we are not offering any notebooks with 4K. Our newest GS60 Ghost does have 3K in it.

As for the 4k option on a GT60, i am not able to comment on future/speculated products, as stated in my Official MSI Rep thread. Sorry im unable to give you more info! :)

I started to save money to replace my 6 years old acer 5930 :D and I'm convincing myself to go on the GS60 GhostPro -064 (1920x1080, 16gb ram, and 6gb vram)

Do you think that the prices will be lower on Christmas period (or immediately after) ?
I'm from Italy, hope that in Europe the prices will be aligned to the US ones :)

One major retailer already has model "MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 4K-079" available for order. It is not pre-order, and does not appear to be an aftermarket modification.

Any reviews of the Gt-70 with the 970m? I was wondering if the heat issues would be better now. That is more in my price range and I'm wanting to use my 500gb SSD only. I don't care for the Msata ssd stuff.

I would like to place my order in the next few days, just need to pick which company :)

Yes, our GT 72 Dominator series are capable of upgrading to newer GPU's! We will most likely start to sell the upgrade kits toward the end of the year around December, so stay tuned!

The GT70 Dominator-2293 at $1499 seems pretty good value. How heavy is it?
And is GTX 960m coming out any time soon?

Edit: Oh nvm it is 8.6lb..

Woo....I sure feel good that I put off buying the gt72 with the 880m for this one.
Question to the notebook gurus of this forum : How well does the gt72 compare to the new Asus g751?

As far as I can gather with the recent information, the G751 has an IPS screen and slightly thinner profile as its advantage . The GT72 has the Asus beat on mxm upgradability(not sure if the G751 has this feature) and slightly lower price.

    Hmmm...decisions,decisions...
If it comes down to the wire I think I might choose GPU upgradability over IPS...but thats just me...

    What do you think?

My plan is to use my samsung evo 500gb as the main drive for everything, than use the 1tb 7200rpm for some archive storage. Can I have two 2.5" drives in either the gt70 or the gt72? that have the new 900m's?
