i will be alot on the battery so maybe a spare battery will help. But i am mainly a medium gamer... probably going to play CS,CS-source team fortrest 2 and new games like starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 when they come out. I want something that can hold 2hour+ battery life and is 2 or 3 year without dieing

    Yo V1k1ng ...

So you pulled the plug and did it ... when you get your 1651, please post back and tell us (me) ... how does it stack up against Compal (I suppose was IFL or JFL90) ...

I mean Look wise, Feel of the laptop, Build of the Chassis, SCREEN ... and so forth.

Viking, do you have the capability of loading up a YouTube of the Laptop ... kinda of "Un-Boxing" ... "Showing the Machine".

BTW, what was your Compal specs (CPU, RAM, Screen Resolution).
Also, post what did you get in 1651!?!? Did you get Barebone or ready-made and who did you get it from!?!?

    G! :)

    Hi robvya,

The 3 laptops you are considering (in your Sigline) 2 are close in camparison $ wise ... the 2096 and 1651 (little pricier) ... but Sager 8660 is a way Higher than the other two ... so not a good comparison ...

I am not a Gamer ... But if you have the $$$ to spend I would get Sager 8660 (Clevo M860TU) ... that is one nice laptop ... everything is laid out right and comes with a heck of gfx card ... But I believe is about 7.1 lbs ... vs Sager 2096 of 6.5 lbs and MSI-1651 ... I can't remember ...

If I were you I check this thread to see which one would run on the laptops that you are considering ...
WHAT GAMES CAN MY LAPTOP RUN
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=265773

With that all said and done .. I would suggets that you fill out the FAQ and indicate that you are only interested in these "3 MODELS Only" and would like people's input ONLY & ONLY on these 3 models, so the folks do not Stray all over the place ...
    WHICH LAPTOP FAQ
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=29271

You might then have a better idea between the 2 threads postings...

Hope this was a little helpful!

    G! :)

You always have the BEST pictures ... THANKS!

A Question on MSI ... whether 1651 or ... are the "Hinges" any probelm!?!?

It seems from teh pictures that there are only 2 small size Hinges ...

    Thanks,
    G! :)

Yeah, I can post a quick overview... but it seems like it might be coming just in time for WAR open beta, so I'll be a little too distracted to write anything very detailed ;)

Just ordered mine... I noticed now xoticpc is showing a special with extra low latency 4 gigs of ram, which makes equal configurations about 40 bucks cheaper at xotic than powernotebooks. I hope they get them in and start building soon!

I believe they are already building them :). Mines (barebone) is in phase 2 since August 14th, and according to Donald from PNB it'll start shipping next week. I'll be sure to take a video and pictures of it when I get home (Vacation Aug 23-30) if it arrives (express 1-3 business days to Canada).

We actually began shipping the PowerPro P 15:3 (MSI-1651) WXGA today, and will continue shipping next week until most of the pre-orders for the WXGA will have shipped.

However there is only a very limited quantity available at this time, and we will not be able to fill all of our pre-orders from this shipment.

grats to those who did get theirs shipped :D , please do a review + video if possible.

Right now that is a little fuzzy. New model releases always seem to go this way. They tell us one date and rarely make that date, so they tell us another date but if they make that it is only part of our order, then they tell us ... well you get the idea.

Once they are in mass production and start flowing regularly we can stop taking our heart medicine and relax, but until then it is a real test of patience and tolerance.

Please ask your vendor, us in this case, directly about your shipping status. We do not like to discuss personal information on a public forum, and of course we have no way of knowing who you are.

Please send us an email, or call us for your personal order status.

Any of you guys think that 9600GT DDR3 can play Crysis, and maybe Mass Effect, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3 without the games being choppy and laggy??

or maybe new games in like 2-3 years?

Crysis would easily be playable on medium settings (with a few on high) and run well while still looking great.

Mass Effect I have no clue.

But for Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 it should be no problem at all. They won't be that demanding anyways.

The 9 cell battery is an available option, but you cannot "upgrade" the 6 cell to a 9 cell.

The 6 cell is standard, but you can buy the 9 cell as a spare.

Well, it looks just like the pictures :)

I am not sure really what you are asking or how I should answer "...how it looks..." Is there something specific you are looking for?

They usually look better than the pictures...and this model is no exception.

I also like how cool and quiet it is, and how the keyboard feels...almost no flex anywhere.

I'll write the best review I can once I've got it. Could take a while, I plan to install GRUB and Vista/Ubuntu, and I've never used GRUB before. Also the review won't have quantitative thermal performance since I don't have a IR thermometer.

Of course this is all academic, since I have no idea when I'm going to get mine, and apparently neither does Xotic. Justin just told me they will get a few of them this week, but nobody has told me if one of those is mine. If not, I don't know when they're getting their next order.

Basically I don't know anything. This is very irritating.

The high res ones were supposed to take a week longer than the normal ones, but at this point I don't know if that will make a difference. I ordered mine on August 6th. Hopefully that puts me in their first shipment.
