Too funny... :) No, it doesn't mean the owner.

That is our Mission Statement. We are a Christian company and we strive to serve Him (our living triune God), our customers, our fellow workers and our vendors according to the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ in a way that will glorify His name.

PowerPro P 15:3 = Proverbs 15:3 "The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good"

There's definitely no fingerprint reader on this right? Xotic PC has had it listed as a component of this laptop for months

That is correct, there is no fingerprint reader.

Not to nitpick, but this model has only been available for pre-order for less than a month...are you sure you are remembering the right model on their website?

You're right, but all pictures as well as Donald tells us that there are no fingerprint readers

Of course.. theres the possibility it's hidden beneath a secret latch and no one knows about it except XoticPC  !

XoticPC does seem to update slower than PNB

Thanks for the information. Anyone who is looking for a custom laptop, I'll send your way in the future.

I have a few questions for you in regards to the PowerPro P 15:3. Does the machine get very hot? I am currently using my trusty Acer with a Celeron M 1.73Ghz CPU + GMA950 and the machine is very cool the fan is barely noticable and is barely on. I know for a fact that this MSI-1651 based laptop has to run a heck of a lot hotter being that it will be paired with a dual core and dedicated GPU. So if you or anyone else know the following:

    1) Is the 1280x800 version in stock generally?
    2) Does the fan get loud and does it constantly turn on and off every few minutes?
    3) Does the Laptop switch to Integrated Video when 3D Horsepower is not required?
    4) Can this thing sit on your lap confortably, or are we talking a fire hazard?
    5) Battery life? Will this thing last more than 75 minutes surfing the web?

The machine looks really nice in the pictures.

I can answer some of your questions based on what I've read.

    1. nothing is in stock, it's still a preorder. If they didn't get it friday they'll be getting them in the next few days
    3. No, it doesn't switch to integrated graphics, ever
    5. Yes, it will last more than 75 minutes surfing the web. should last at least 2 hours just surfing

thanks for taking time and correcting it :)

May I ask for what reason did you up the pricing for WSGXA+? :(
Just when I started to consider it since it's matte, the price is now $99 from the previous $60 >_<

The reason for the new increase is originally we expected the first shipment of 1651-WSXGA+ models to be in a plastic black/silver trim. Instead they came in the better looking Black Brushed Aluminum (which unfortunately was at a slightly higher price). If you pre-ordered before the increase you are locked in at the lower price. :) We have updated our picture gallery with the updated pictures of both screens.

The only thing I want to know is when my laptop is going to ship. This is becoming tiresome. I could have had a laptop in my hands from a local place 3 weeks ago.

Oh crap, now this means I need to look up all the corresponding Proverbs for the other Power Pro models....I can't help it, curiousity will be the death of me....

    And robvya,

unless I am reading this wrong, you are spending only $30 more since you didn't jump in early, not $100.

Some of them aren't Psalms, some of them are from other books. Ex. PowerPro I 8:17 (17in version of the P 15:3). I'm assuming I means Isaiah.

    The fan works really well.

The laptop stays fairly cool but I wouldn't sit it on your laptop. Part of the reason it stays so cool probably has to do with the fact that it has a bunch of vents on the bottom that you'd probably plug by setting it on your lap. One of those $10-$25 lap desks would probably do the trick.

Yeah, sorry. Between moving, getting all my stuff stolen and new job I haven't had much time to play around. And really, I'm not much of a hardware guy so a review from me would be gibberish. Really, I can only relate this to my experience with the Compal IFL90 which was also a great machine.

3DMarks on this laptop is nice, but to be honest, I was expecting longer battery life! You know.. More around the 2.5hour zone with casually surfing word or internet >_<. Ah well...

Looks like there is a significant power consumption difference between the P9500 and T9400. 20% for DVDs, and 11% on Word.

I ordered mine with a P8600 (25 watt). Will that extend the battery life to roughly 2.5hrs for casual browsing and word processing?

Don't get me wrong, I'm planning to pimp out my MSI-1651 hard from whichever vendor I end buying from - but I really like the idea of having a simple plain black laptop without any logos.

That brushed black aluminum with the WSXGA screen looks fabulous though. Easily worth the extra dough.

The brushed black WSXGA model does not have the cutout for a logo on the lid (A Panel). The WXGA, silver/black does.

At this point the change will cost $100 and will likely delay my order. I don't think I want to do that. That doesn't mean I don't want the better screen and chassis.

If the canadian dollar goes up significantly tomorrow (not likely) then I'll consider it.

I see. I had a balance of $90.82 at XoticPC, so I figured, why not use it to get the matte screen (didn't realize it was matte until Friday, otherwise I would've added the $60 instead) I always wanted? Even though I'm only going to pay $8.18, I wouldn't mind the CAD going + as well :)

    Paladin,

Will we be able to remove the PNB logo from the WSXGA+ screens? You said they have no place to inset the logos, so I am assuming it will be an adhesive that will be possible to remove? I like the look of a bare brush metal aluminum lid.
