    I was thinking you had 2 1TB drives, not 2 2TB drives...derp!!

If it would have been 2 !tb drives I was thinking you would have been better off going with a 256gb OS drive and 2TB drive.

    I went full retard....apologies!!!

I just read the instructions again, it instructs us to revert BIOS to defaults first so I did that, then changed back to RAID from AHCI and tried again, the ME Firmware upgraded smoothly:

Thanks for this - My GE62 was at 11.6 something. The extra instructions (run bat file) were fine, I tried earlier and couldn't get it working. All up to date now, going to install the driver update :)

@Phoenix I'm not able to update the Intel HD Graphics Driver from 21.20.16.4534 to 22.20.16.4708
It says "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software" makes me wonder why...

P.s It won't let me PM you bro. :(

Possible solution: My GPU is enabled and I can't find the Intel one anywhere in device manager... I'll try and switch to UMA graphics.

@Phoenix Realtek S5250 Card Reader Driver v10.0.15063.21302 <-- not working
I was updating my card reader and many other drivers then suddenly in my device manager I noticed a unknown PCI device.

I then found the PnP ID and placed it in google which was " VEN_10EC&DEV_5250&SUBSYS_11B11462&REV_01"

I went and tried to update it to the new driver multiple times manually but it would say the following in device manager "the hash of the file is not present in the specified catalog file. The file is likely corrupt or the victim of tampering."

    My reaction then was
    [IMG]

P.s I updated back to the old one ( 10.0.14393.21292) and it worked...

This brought back the "disable trackpad when a USB pointing device is connected" checkbox that was missing in the last set of drivers I installed. Awesome.

It seems to happen more often with the drivers that come with a clean OS install and/or are downloaded through Windows Update. Makes me wonder if it's due to underlying changes in Windows itself that might cause an issue with the Synaptics driver. In my experience, aside from the GPU, the trackpad has always been the most troublesome piece of hardware, at least from a driver/software perspective.

    Hi,

Since I installed WIndows 10 Creators Update, even on last build 16299.125, and even with last synaptics drivers, I get an unknown hardware error, on second boot, after installing the driver. I have to uninstall it to not have that error. It never happened before with previous Windows 10 updates. Anyone facing the same issue and know how to solve it? I thought that this last update from synaptics, could solve this issue, but no :(

I will also add that you should disconnect from the Internet before you start so that Windows Update won't try to download and install its own version of the driver.

For some reason if I have the "disable trackpad when other USB device is present" setting enabled, even if I have no other devices connected, the pad doesn't work unless I uncheck that box. I'm guessing there's some sort of conflict between the Synaptics driver and Corsair Utility Engine since I have a Corsair mouse, keyboard, and headset. It's not a huge deal because the trackpad can be disabled with one of the keyboard shortcuts, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

It's not just j00. Just tried it with my Logitech G900 Mouse and even if I disconnect the mouse, the trackpad remains disabled. Classical Synaptics swiss cheese! [IMG]

Suitably chastised :p I did the following:

    1) Disconnected from interwebs
    2) Uninstalled using Revo uninstaller. So the existing version got removed and al the "leftovers" got nerfed too.
    3) Restarted
    4) Ran installer for Dragon while still offline.
    5) Restarted because it and you guys told me to.
    6) Re-enabled interwebs.

    And... now I am back.

Check device manager. This problem is caused by other HID mouse drivers. Steelseries keyboard has a mouse driver for some really odd reason. And it's useless. If you disable that driver, then that feature works again.

You can just use FN+F3 and disable it that way, but that doesn't work if you're using a PS/2 driver. Only seems to work with SMbus.

(just check properties and description to see what driver the mouse is linked to. Usually there's a company name or some identifier somewhere).

You need to go to driver details. Most of the HID drivers use the basic microsoft driver, except some of the branded ones.
try looking in there and see if that points you in the right direction. You could also try disabling a driver and see what happens.

It happens over time, unplugging and replugging into another USB port, these orphaned device manager entries can be cleaned up, there are a few utilities that have an option to clean them up, this is the last one I used:

Device Cleanup Tool: Remove all non-present devices from Windows PC
    http://www.thewindowsclub.com/device-cleanup-tool-windows

    Download: devicecleanup.zip
    Last update: 08 June 2017

Click to select device(s) or Devices Tab => Select All, Right-Click => Remove Device

    I haven't used this on Windows 10 :)
