I'm sorry, but what? Much of your post makes very little sense. AM2+ Quad core integrated memory controller? How does a dual core have quad core memory controller?
Any CPU can 'push' the HD 3850, but the problem is, can it bring out all of its potential? Since one of the owners got nearly 400 points increase in 3DMark06 by just overclocking the CPU, I think not. I don't see a fanboy in this thread besides you.
-
TRF has a point; how can you have quad core memory controller in a dual core chip? Makes no sense to me... Can I take a look at where you got that info from? But you are right AMD is practical price for performance over intel, there prices seem to be getting gradually higher with montevina etc.
Thanks
Oh dear. MSI GT627 has been announced. I don't know what to do now! -
Yes... well based on when the MSI GT635 was annouched (june/july) it will take a few months till they are really available.
-
ok, well I'll stick to my guns then. I wish my us account would hurry up s I can order before I change my mind again!
Persoontje no faults with the notebook yet? Have you updated drivers for anything yet?
Dalago, any word on your notebook?
Thanks -
but... must be too expensive...
-
ok, sorry to hear it took so long to arrive!
please post your results when you get them, my internet is down at home right now so im using the computers at school, so i might not be able to reply as soon as i would like! -
-
i.e. I'd buy an ATI GPU if they had drivers worth anything, and AMD CPUs if they could manage to catch or exceed core 2 but I just don't see either happening after all these years...
AMD/ATI combo for a netbook might be nice though as the competition is a little easier there since we'd already expect an underpowered CPU, but a nice little GPU to go along with it would be welcome as it WOULD help with what little gaming those would be capable of... e.g. even the Eee's 900s IIRC were able to "run" Oblivious at 8 - 9 FPS, not playable, but I'd like to see what they could do with a little better GPU might make even some newer games playable on those little guys... (I was thinking about trying an ATI in my desktop, but I'm still hearing about X11 driver problems which is a deal breaker for me.) -
Ok. I'm quite happy that the GT725 is coming out, which is an Intel based CPU and chipset with an ATI graphics card, (4850) which is shown to be almost as fast as the 9800m GTX.

Dalago have you recieved yours already
?
-
I was reading somewhere the other day that Asus is supposed to be coming out with these in x2 and x3 configurations for notebooks, but the price, of course, was incredibly high but so were the benches... (Found while searching for info on the 4850/70... kept pulling up info on the x2 and x3 cards with little for the x1. The x3 is HUGE...)

SomeFormOFhuman has the dumbest username.
-
Yeah, I get it! I'm so happy hehehe
Anyway, sorry, I was outside...
well, mine arrives in the MSI box but came with less accessories than your.
It came with:
- Display wiper
- 2 blank recover DVDs
- MSI DVD (user manual, drivers...)
- "OFFICE ONE" Disc
- Bag
No More
Anyway I Love the notebook. Cold and cool surface, I feel the electricity hehehe
It's so quiet, heatsink, Fan work great, all eco-modes works great!! Touch sensors works great! very nice. And sounds Great!
ATi Switchable graphics is not supported, and audio looks like standart stereo.
I just downloaded 3D mark... so, I test by this way in a few minutes!
I want to see my score
Edit:
I do the First 3DMark06 test, and in stock power I get: 6149 3DMarks
I'll test turbomode few minutes later
bye -
thankyou!
the whole accessories business is a bit odd... maybe some companies decide to sell them seperately or something.
ive decided to hang back and wait to see what the price of the GT725 is, and whether its in my price range or not!
do you own COD4/crysis? nice to see some test on those
thanks -
I suppose the GT725 must be at ~1600, but HD4850 and Blu-ray powered! if you can wait...
I'm trying to get Crysis... but you know... that game is too heavy so my friends don't have it...
Anyway I'm looking for it!
About the Notebook... I'm so happy, the processor have 4 voltage levels, so the frecuency can down to 530 MHz per core, good for saving power. Eco modes are great. touch sensors works very fine. Toshiba Bluetooth is great and supports A2DP profile, Card reader works pretty good. Speakers sound fine but no 4.1... Anyway you have equalizer and sound effects on Realtek HD console.
The Camera is nice, 3MP interpolated and a nice software!! The mic is fair... Gigabit ethernet, wireless N works great!
Touchpad has vertical scroll and with driver update you get the horizontal scroll too.
Cover is great, resistant and niceMagnets works fine on kept closed the notebook.
Heat is normal... the left side of the notebook stay cold all the time, but on the right side you can feel the heat on the keyboardHeatsinks works great.
CPU Max temp on gaming mode (no turbo): 80°C
GPU Max temp on gaming mode: 72 °C
Turbo mode can get a 2770 Mhz CPU Frecuency...
Battery is the bad thing... Short Life... but is normal due to GPU. I get 90 minutes max (WLAN always on)... I want ATi Switchable graphis to save power...
One thing... Anyone knows what can I do with the CIR port? And which remote (to kept on ExpressCard bay) can I buy?
I think I'll test Vista 64 bits soon.
Thanks Guys!
Edit:
I get 2922 Mhz on turbo Mode. I'm Wondered... I don't think Turion ultra can get 700 Mhz more when underclock... Great Brand! Great Notebook! -
sweet! I'm still stuck between this and the asus g71v with the t9400 and 9700m gt, any thoughts? And that CPU overclocks fairly nice going!
-
how is the games running? cod4, crysis, far cry2, cs:s...?
-
Hello everybody
new user here... My GT735 will arrive in a few days, and ill keep you informed about everything wanted here...
(package, accessories. playability in games as crysis and gta-4 will i try too...) and benchmark it too....
-
Hey...Check this out guys, Newegg is selling the MSI GT735 for $1099 right now
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152087 -
Wow, great price for the hardware you're getting. If I didn't have the GX620 already, I would have seriously consider getting it.
-
I'd get it, if it weren't for the red outlines...
Notebooks just aren't made to look "game-ish." All it does is make you look ridiculous in public. -
It's too bad they don't have a built in GMA graphics card for switchable graphics =/ or else it'd be my laptop of choice =(
Back to waiting on lenovo T500 deals -
Deepestblue has the laptop arrived yet?
-
EDIT: I got it today! Unboxing in a few minutes -
Take some pics when you got the time.
-
Will do that
Btw, there is 4 speakers, and not two as mentioned before. 2 of them is hidden beside the touch-panel, and cant be seen...
kinda smart. and a "sub" in the bottom ofc, lol... i can play GRID in full details at 1280x1024, with nearly no lag at all... a 1152x864 setting eliminated that totally. GTA 4 was VERY hard to run tho, and looks kinda bad, and made the computer shut down after 20 minutes o_0 because of heat... hmm...? A better processor could be useful here too, a bit bottlenecking!
- I Expected it to come in the bundle with a "bag" for the Pc, but i also got the one with a game and a mouse...
The game, which is Rainbow Six Vegas 2, runs very smoothly on this pc too, and i actually like that game toohe he... And the mouse... Its great, and good looking, same colours as the laptop, using it now instead of My Logitech G5
It took a long time to "preload" Vista and such, was actually a bit annoying.. and a trial of norton internet security was installed too, bah... delete that! slows the pc.
The keyboard is VERY good, and my danish edition came with some "button-stickers" for Æ and Ø... Kinda nice if you dont know really how to find them on a keyboard. BUT i would think that a gamers notebook in this price, didnt have to include this... but a good extra, off course... the numpad is absolutely great too, and the right size...
Its a bit annoying that it gets so hot, since the "blow-out" is in the right side (mouse-side) and you can feel that... and where the wrist is placed, it gets kinda hot too...(right side too)
the picture on the screen is fabulous! You can stand right beside it and barely see the screen, and still its easy to see whats on it... and its VERY clear, perfect for film and gaming!
And i expected it to be a bit noisy, but it isnt, at all, even with "turbo-mode" on, it isnt bad...
But as far as i know the laptop yet, i think its great...! But, i will be writing more about it in the next few days- any questions?
-
'My' GT735 has also been arrived
It's the European version with a BD-drive.
Actually it's a reviewsample from MSI International. I'd like to thank them for the sample.
But first i've to install the games before we'll know more -
Where did you order your laptop? I'm trying to find out where they deliver the laptop with a mouse and headset, and where they only add the bag... -
Which Catalyst-driver did you've used. I cracked the Catalyst 8.12-driver so I could install it in combination with the HD3850.
I'm going to install this weekend GTA 4. After the weekend we'll know more -
GTA IV eats high end desktops for breakfast, never mind notebooks!
-
so how has the notebooks worked so far? pros & cons?
-
I plan on getting this notebook for Christmas, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
wow id love to see some pics/3d mark from you guys
Pretty please with sugar on top -
Hi all!!
Do you give me mobility Radeon 3850 vga bios???
Thanks! -
Hey, I've already got an open thread in What Notebook Should I Buy, but I need a reply as fast as possible, so I hope you won't mind if I post here too:
which do you guys think it's better(gaming-wise) between a MSI GT735-024US and a ASUS N50Vn-X1B?? The Asus has a Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4G and a 1gb NVIDIA GeForce 9650M GT.. the Core2Duo is clearly better than the AMD but I thnk I understand the HD3850 is superior to the 9650GT... I can't really decide which one to buy, if you could help me it'd be greatly appreciated! -
Nvidia + Intel often the best option for gaming. Altough Ati 3850 is is better graphic card than 9650m GT...
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html
Check out that link. And click on 9650m gt and 3850 to see benchmarks... -
but i have a problem....
cant find any working GPU drivers for x64 Win Xp... Can anyone help? :/
and i have completed GTA 4 45 percent by now, on this laptop... hehe -
Has anyone ordered this from newegg? I'd like to know if it comes with the free game and mouse.
I already have an alienware gaming backpack and it's really nice so I dunno if I need another.. I'd have to compare them and see if the MSI is anywhere near as high quality as the alienware one. -
HELLO AGAIN!
after installing win Xp x64 Pro, i really think i got something for the money!
its very hard to find working drivers for the GPU tho :/ but i have them, if anyone wants..
I can play gta 4 now without huge problems...! screenshots will come...
any questions about this pc? -
but no problems so far, at all... -
Hi, fixing to pull the trigger on this rig, any heat issues? would this handle WoW, Warhammer, etc ok?
-
NO heat issues... it has rebooted for me due heat one time, and that was right after installing grid, about 2 hours after i unboxed it.... never did it since.
it handles WoW PERFECT...you can go down to 40+ fps with 8x multisampling and no shadows (i dont mind shadows in wow at all...) but i am doing 110 +/- with 1x multisampling and turbo-mode on...
btw seems that the pc works with around 2.6 ghz when "turbo is on"... -
Thanks, might wait until after CES and see if the 725 is released, the build quality is good, the machine feels and looks sturdy?
-
-
Any updates from those who have owned this for a while now? Anyone dissect it?
-
I just got the GT735 today from newegg. I love it, but I have a problem: the OS was on a separate 40gb partition. I happily started installing programs, only to realize that I had been installing them all to that partition and only had 1gb left on it.
Can anyone tell me if there's a way to remedy this, besides uninstalling and re-installing everything? Can I move the programs from that partition to the large "main" one? I admit I'm a newbie when it comes to this sort of thing. -
You're better off just leaving Windows stuff in that partition. I wouldn't try to move programs as it will mess up shortcuts, registry etc. Best bet is to uninstall the programs and install them on a new partition.
The benefit of keeping Windows on a separate partition is that if you need to reformat, you can just reformat the windows partition and leave all of your programs and files in tact. That's probably why it was configured that way.
Personally I'd uninstall the 32bit windows and install 64bit anyways, because you're not going to take full advantage of your 4gb of ram with 32bit windows. -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
it depends if you just got it today why not recover it back and reinstall stuff or is it too much things?
-
Does anyone know or could the original 3dMark posters give us a clarification of the screen resolution and the AA/AF settings at which the 3DMark06 tests were run?
(I'm t rying to compare this mobility Radeon 3850 to desktop versions attempting to get a feel for what might be expected of the 4850 Mobility. I've found a review @ 1280x1024 AA/AF off for the desktop 3850 which give ~10k 3DMarks, still looking for more with an AMD CPU & chipset, as well as one that has BOTH the 3850 & 4850 in it as a comparison of the desktop models performance differences at least. Here is the one bench. -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
i think at 1280 x 1024 it hits around 7300 or so not that bad.
