Yees exactly!!Same as the tested one in Notebookcheck. And bro @Phoenix use BIOS E17A1IMS.308 who is the latest one. Maybe a Glitch from MSI

His BIOS version is already 308 and that's the only version available on MSI's website.
@Phoenix I wouldn't rely on MSI support. As @hmscott mentioned, you are most likely to get better help from the owners forums. This other guy who got it fixed with the help of guys from the forum later got an email from MSI support saying that G-Sync is not supported in his model, funny that he already had setup G-Sync

Do you both have the same vBIOS version? there may be a different one for ones equipped with regular screens and another one for 4K panels.
Example: The 1070 has
86.04.31.00.0D (regular/120Hz)
86.04.31.00.0C (4K)Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
The one advantage @Phoenix has that most don't, he has a local MSI depot where he can walk in and get help
It's a good idea to register your MSI laptop as soon as you get it. If you register in the first 2 weeks you get a 3 month extension on your warranty - at least I did - not sure if that bonus is still in effectSpartan@HIDevolution and Rynaus like this. -
E17A1IMS.30A looks newer than E17A1IMS.308 to me (A>8).
+1 for vBIOS comparison.hmscott likes this. -
This is very shocking and frustrating @Phoenix. ! I am sorry to hear that about your unit & really hope this can be sorted out some how.
As @Galm said ( MSI models have been super sketchy with GSync). I have to strongly agree with you here.
Ever since the MSI GT73VR came out in August. I have personally emailed different re-sellers like Gentech, Xotic PC etc. For some reason there seems to be an issue with MSI getting their laptop screens Gsync certified.
Five months passed now, and still this hasn't been sorted out and causing a lot of potential buyers to re-think their laptop options. I don't understand the delay and lack of clarifications on this from either MSI or Nvidia.Last edited: Jan 30, 2017hmscott and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

MSI generally makes good hardware, but stuff like this gives me pause when thinking about buying.

I have to note, when I first got the laptop, before formatting and doing a clean install, I reset the BIOS to its default then changed to RAID mode
Can someone who has GSYNC working take a screenshot of every screen / menu in the BIOS and post it here? -
Also, I assume you sent email to HID as well, and they should be able to set you right for enabling G-sync, as they should have had it working before shipping.Papusan and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

So I just logged in to my MSI account to check the status of my ticket and guess what? It was deleted and there are no records of all what I typed and the system info report I said

Even if they are the same, it might not hurt to try flashing the version from the MSI site and see what happens.Papusan and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
MSI has one real stinky habbit. They alway hide all previous BIOSes and Firmwares calling latest one as "first release". Such kind of BS I disgrace because have to keep previous version of firmware as latest one has fan turned always on.

Just installed Windows in AHCI mode. Same result.
I also refreshed the EC firmware but no luck
When trying to refresh the same BIOS again after placing it on a USB flash Disk, it says wrong image size -
On HIDEvolution website the MSI GT73VR 7RF Titan Pro-425 and other MSI GT73VR's are all advertised with G-Sync display. Based on the unit you received @Phoenix maybe that's not the case and this needs to be reviewed/checked by them before shipping it out to customers to ensure
the information is either updated, or the unit is inspected property to insure it has G-Sync.
Just a thought. -

Your bios is 11/04/2016 11:06:37 Ver: E17A1IMS.308 while MSI claims its 2017-01-12. They forgot to actually update it or what?
Fixed 30A is 11/17 and is NEWER as I suggested before. MSI should stop failing with BIOSes and finally provide an actual fricken list of all released bioses by date instead of BS-ly edited list of only one "first released".Last edited: Jan 30, 2017Papusan and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

You shouldn't need to flash firmware different than what they used.
I hope you preserved their OS install... and did your test AHCI Windows install on a new / different SSD...Last edited: Jan 30, 2017 -

Maybe someone here with that same screen can comment on which Nvidia release they are running that supports G-sync reliably.
@Phoenix 's build shows it's supposed to be a G-sync display:

But, it sounds like @Phoenix is tired of messing with it for now.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

FYI, I tried reinstalling the BIOS E17A1IMS.308 from MSI's website, when I put the file on a USB Flash Disk or even in the root of C:\ , going into BIOS then initiating the BIOS update then pointing it to that location, it says file size is wrong

Since you already have the same BIOS version, I don't think it will make a difference if you re-flash it.

Have you tried a clean re-install of the drivers btw? Sometimes this helps too.
Using DDU - http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
This works best in Safe Mode. Uninstall, reboot. Windows should install the latest drivers by default. Check if G-Sync works. If not, install the latest drivers from MSI again and check.hmscott likes this. -
