Well since I'm so close to them all it took was the free shipping they offer. I live about 7hrs from them, in fact the UPS near them is the same one close to newegg and it shipped from the usual area. In short Standard shipping from that location only takes two days for me  :D ;)

I think most people just figure it out for themselves. It's not cryptic like previous Alienwares.

To think, when I was in highschool and when I got out in 03...

I used to want an Alienware computer SO BAD, but it never happened.

My Aunt Ended up getting a 13" Alienware laptop and that thing was a piece of crap...

The desktops looked cool and then I learned about air flow.... So yeeeah.

Just added that video so we know what to do...personally can't afford to make a mistake in the engine of my car.. Err Laptop :)

M17x R1/R2/M18x R1/R2 had lots of pieces, but required some finesse to take apart. They were masterpieces and mostly unparalleled.

The bigger chassis and heatsink definitely helped a lot with the noise.

From what I can tell, the new GT80S is much quieter and cooler than my previous GT80 SLI-009, which is AWESOME! I really didn't expect this considering the new GPU's. This has me thinking that MSI R&D did a marvelous job with this model...... AND I AM SOOOOOO LOOKING FORWARD TO IT's ARRIVAL TOMORROW!

(anxiety is so high right now, I could have a panic attack, and pee my pants)

MSI said they'd offer two gpu upgrades for the MSI GT80 Titan right? But it doesn't look like the 980 (desktop) in the GT80S would fit in the original GT80 (at least not the second card). Unless all they changed was the heatsink then it shouldn't be a problem.

Haven't compared pics of the internals side by side yet.

Looking carefully, it seems like a slightly modified heatsink would allow two 980s in the GT80.

I didn't complete the GT80S SLI-002 video, was only half done and I got cold and rest for 2 weeks then decided just do the GT80S 072 instead. But they are identical except the video card.

Or just get the kit of GPU+ Heatsink from MSI when they are ready to sell it, looks like it will just fit the old GT80 no problem.

An interesting question! I'd get clarification from the MSI Reps on that question. I thought the "two GPU upgrades", was for 'two generations' of the mobile GPU/card..... not sure if this includes the cards with desktop GPU's..... but a heatsink mod may work, though doubtful this would come with MSI's blessing.

A good question for Geno or Myco...... least, they should be able to give MSI's position on this.

    :)

COOL! So the 980M's and desktop 980's will be completely interchangeable, and only the heatsinks are different? All mounting points are identical?

    :)

Never mind, my UPS status says the same thing , but I'm an hour and a half from where I live and its a Friday in bay area traffic, if I leave I have to time it just right.

I thought the 980s drew more power? Assuming you can put the 980s in the GT80s, what would happen BIOS update or something?

No actually I didn't cheat, and I decided against 'overnight' shipping at the last minute. When I heard the weight (28 lbs.) and price , I changed to 2nd Day Air. Plus, if it makes you feel better, I am in the last hours of my UPS guy's route..... so you still have a chance, LOL! :D

I'm amazed at those gpu's. Jesus christ of Nazareth

But let me ask... Users can't open the laptop at all without voiding the warranty? A re-paste job for example would void warranty?

That's just in case someone damaged the inside by open it up, if you do it carefully and not damaging anything then MSI is ok with it.

Wednesday can't get here fast enough :)

So Ken I can open it to re-paste if i do not like the temps or to upgrade the memory.

That had me a little worried.

Isn't the processor in the Sli-002 overclockable?

    M.2 SSD = 2 x NVMe M.2 SSDs by PCIe Gen3 X4 in RAID0 (also see 16:00 into Ken's video) :)

How come everyone makes request expecting 'immediate' results? Please allow time for me to breathe and take it all in, bask in the glory, and a little setup and PLAY TIME, LOL!

Lol forgive me. I'm an impatient fool! Those gpu's! Enjoy

I looked at the RS. I live in London UK. Stop... Go... Stop go traffic, so pointless. Anyway I like cruising, 2mph so everybody see's you lol.

I can't believe what laptops are doing these days. They've done well cramming those gpu's. But something is missing for me from it. Look forward to review

On the gt80-002 there are only 3 slots unlike the previous hm87 which had 4 so I would assume this one is the same with only 3 2280 ssd slots.

Are you sure looking at the video there it looks like there are 3 bunched up the twp PCIe and one sata 3 and then one off by the 2.5 sata drive.

We should let them confirm because the space is there but no connector is present in the new models aka the 002 that we confirmed.

You're very correct. Huge beast car, tiny London. But I love it!

2 weeks ago I had no intention of getting any laptop, then I thought let me see what's going on in notebookreview. I log on from my x7200 with its i7 920 cpu and 480m gpu.

I see people talking about desktop gpu in laptops and I chuckle at the poster, thinking to myself lol in his dreams, but he was talking fact to my utter amazement! Now I'm £2700 lighter, awaiting the pheonix. Why oh why did I have to come back here!? Xmas has been expensive enough. I've been away too long

This laptop uses the exact same double psu as the clevo doesn't it?
