That is very odd, I would completely uninstall the program reboot and run the installation from the MSI website and see if it corrects the problem. You should have that tab as it consists of the Device Setting and Shift Mode.

How I do I flash the EC? The winflash tool opens and closes immediately. I tried using cmd and all I get is: product ID error? Anyone know how to fix this? I would love to get the functionality of switching around the win and fn keys. Thanks!

There is no log for the updated file, I did install the update which was very easy but I didn't notice any changes with scores or temps running a quick test.

There is a link on the MSI website underneath the downloads which isn't working but the instructions below are very similar the only difference being I did not have to disconnect the power for it to take in the system.

I couldn't get the winflash GUI to open. When I try executing the process via cmd, it says product ID error.

    winflash.exe 1812ems1.104 /s

That is what I'm typing in

    Hello all!

I'm curious about the red lighting on the KB. Is there a software switch to turn off the red lights or are they always on?

Also, what's the p/n for the default m.sata 2's? Can they be bought at retail for a future upgrade?

On a related note, I finally got my GT80 -009 in, albeit for a short time. Received the system on the 28th of March, ran through the tests/benchmarks from Xotic-PC and they were in line with posts from here. Finally got a chance to install 3Dmark (putting it through paces, and verifying functionality), and.... red flickering with SLI enabled on benchmarks and games. verified drivers and did a clean install of the official MSI driver to no avail.

Normally I would tear the thing apart to check the SLI bridge cable, of verify everything is tight (MXM), but an hour after unboxing I am very cautious on warranty voids. Finally had time on Thursday to call MSI, do a full OS wipe and driver update (to no avail) and finally called MSI to RMA the system based on their recommendation. The RMA location is next door (California vs Arizona) so hopefully I can get more involved after I get it back in a fully functional state.

    Hi

I think it's your SLI bridge that is not fully "clipsed" on the MXM cards.

I've already had this issue with a brand new Alienware

Hello again guys ! I have the GT80 Titan 001 and I'm wondering what the normal temperature would be when running a game for a while in sport mode. I'm seeing temps of around 58 C on the GPU and 78 C on the CPU. This seems hot to me, what do you all think? Even with the fans on high I still don't see a huge decline in temps. Would you all suggest a laptop cooler? And if so what one would you recommend? Once again thank you in advance for all your help and advice. I really appreciate it. I'm new to this laptop and don't want to damage it.

Mine shows 916gb total size, you have to realize that the recovery partition on the the 1tb conventional drive also which takes up around 16gb.

Can anyone confirm the supported memory clock in GT80-009 RAM, mine is showing as 800 MHz in HWInfo where as it has been stated in MSI website - 24GB DDR3L 1600MHz

That is correct, its DDR ram so double data rate providing 1600mhz the effective rate.

It should but if you have the 009 you shouldn't need it? If you was to buy ram I would probably buy 16gb of higher speed but either way its not going to help you much unless you really have some demanding duty that memory intensive.

The processor can only use memory with 1600MHz.

You can buy 1866MHz module, but the processor will only use 1600MHz...

It's officially rated for that but can run higher normally. There are rare chips that cannot.

Command rate 2T = low memory bandwith. Probably more than 2 memory modules bios is setting 2T.

Your memory stick is ok. I prefer 2x8Gb with cmd rate 1t and better OC. I don`t need 24 gb of ram.

Oh yeah, you need to RMA that yesterday... That is definitely a hardware problem... Call the 1800 number on the bottom of your computer and get that in for repair! Unfortunately, that is a risk you take when you buy an SLI setup. I have seen SLI issues like that many times, it's almost always a bad card/memory/chip on the GPU.

Yeah it's a tossup. Install the higher speed memory, manually override the ram settings to what the ram manufacturer rates it at, make sure the default clocks are set then run prime 95 for 10 minutes to check... Then incrementally OC if that is what you are into!

Dang that sucks. Looks like a GPU issue, does it happen all the time or just on the desktop? If If it stops when you run a game it may be something different than the dedicated GPU, it could be ram.
