    Hi all,

I just got my GT76 9SG last week (4k display) and I noticed a bit of backlight bleed and also that the panel image is a bit off-centered on the bezel. I came across similar reports on the web.

The image attached exaggerates the bleed but you can get the idea. Would you guys mind providing a short feedback regarding backlight bleed and centering on your panels? Pictures would be highly appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance ;)

Hello everyone, any major complaints about this laptop? I’m thinking to get it instead of the area-51M I have now. What do you think?

Even with a slight backlight bleed on my 4k display (which I read some other folks also has), I love mine and I wouldn´t trade it for anything else currently on the market.

My message was deleted, so I write again. Very disappointed with the gt76 laptop. Before that, I had a ge75, so I will compare with it. On speed discoveries programs, although have them different processors and he should be more powerful, on fact this there is no.The screen in gt76, I have a version in 4k, terrible. This is especially noticeable in games.Image of the there moves away in toxic greens, there is no such definition what gives screen was set up ge75, on 75 color of and more brighter and clear, not cut eye as in 76.At all on games on gt76 that the incomprehensible.Game gta5, at 4K resolution, fps 130, on ge75 at hd resolution 85-90. The temperature jumps from 83 to 95.But the colors of the screen are eerie, visible poisonous green from the sun. After half an hour of the game it knocks out with a message about the need to reduce the screen resolution. There is no such thing on the ge 75 laptop. The game is stable. On gt76 if you reduce the screen resolution, the fps becomes a little more, 140, but the game itself begins to slow down, as if the fps drops to 1-2, although the tests do not show it.The color of the game with its poisonous green strongly affects the eyes. And just after half an hour of the game knocks out of it with a mark to reduce the screen resolution. The game Assassin's Creed Odyssey At 4k resolution fps 45-36.The CPU temperature 82-92.The game is stable. But again, those poisonous green screen colors spoil everything. At hd fps resolution 85-95. The CPU temperature 78-81.Color such same toxic green. Ge75 so same betrays 85-95 fps, although processors different. The temperature is the same. The game World of Warcraft. 4k resolution, in the city 45 fps, outside the city, raids 100. The temperature of the CPU, 79-83. The game is not knocked out, but the poisonous green colors spoil everything. Ge75 fps is the same in the city, outside the city and in raids 140, CPU temperature 75-80.The picture is excellent. game Witcher 3. so same knocks out after half an hour of play, temperatures processor under 4 k 72-80, fps 44-51.When lowering the screen resolution fps 120-140, the temperature 70-80.Ge 75 all goes is famously, fps is stable on 77, temperatures processor 79-81.And I want to ask a question to representatives of msi. What kind of ugly laptop did they release?Where is the work of the vaunted cooling?Where is the normal operation of the screen?About the lights on the black, I'm silent, for me this is the norm.I curse my choice when I bought this ugliness and sold the most wonderful and balanced laptop ge75.

You know that's interesting, not because it made any sense - it really didn't - but the whole idea of "poisonous green" rang a bell.

    Poisonous green
Green pigments have been the most poisonous in history. In 1775, the Swedish chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele invented a deadly hue, Scheele'sGreen, a bright green pigment laced with the toxic chemical arsenic.
    https://gameofpaint.com/green-pigment-the-most-poisonous-date/

Now I remember, I saw that as part of a documentary series:

Hidden Killers of the Victorian Home

As far as the GT76, I suggest you take it and visit a good PC Tech specialist locally and show them what the problem's are - show them the "poisonous green" - maybe take it to where you bought it and have them help you one on one so you can show them and demonstrate the problems in person.

You are happy people. I live in Russia.Showed in the store as the game is dominated by green in all games. They answered that there is no problem, the laptop is functional. The same answer was received in the service center officially associated with msi.

Can you get that recorded on the video when the symptom shows up? Perhaps that would help to get your unit repaired under warranty.

Being able to see the issue may help, if you have a pic. If you're talking just the greens are oversaturated that might be enough that they would say nothing it wrong. If the whole screen is green tinted, that's a different issue. Or if it's got a green pattern over it, etc.

Foreground greens look fairly normal, are you referring to the background textures there? I'll admit I am not familiar with what that game should look like.

Hey B0B, first of all, thanks for your video talking about GT76. Since you have done reviews on GT75 and GT76, for your taste which one should you buy and why?
The GT76's cooling system is better, right? Pros and cons related to both?

I would appreciate any input from you guys because I'm considering to buy a GT76 but don't know if a GT75 is better or not since I don't and didn't own one.

    Thanks for your time.

If the GT76 featured Gsync there would be little need for the GT75.

While MXM in the GT75 is nice, it’s really only beneficial from a hardware replacement due to failure. The cost of MXM as an upgrade is outrageous.

It may be cheaper to replace the whole board but there are other cost factors involved.
If it's soldered on the main board then it's more on the labor work when there's a need to perform warranty work, but the manufacturing cost is cheaper due to lesser material used.
But then when we look at this as consumer's point of view, we don't like that. :)

I think the gt76 has the only drawback - it's 4 fans, which means too much noise. Whereas the gt75 has only 2 fans. In addition, as practice has shown, removable components will not protect you from damage. So recently, in one of the owners of the Tornado f5 died desktop processor during the short circuit. Although it is worth recognizing that it can be replaced, but the motherboard also died.

Right, so you would go for a GT75 because of the GT76 noise? That's correct?

Yes. At first everything may suit you, but then the noise will annoy you more and more.
And in addition, aavid thermalloy fans are subject to frequent failure. I periodically see messages from owners of msi laptops of different series that their fans have broken. And those 2 small fans in gt76 they do not seem to be on ball bearings, like the main large ones. And these little fans are less reliable.
That is, maybe, in addition to noise, you may have more problems with fans in the future.

But in any case, at first I would recommend that you personally look and get acquainted with the laptop in your hands in order to understand whether it suits you.

Anyone tried to install a 15 mm thick HDD into this laptop? I have 5 TB Seagate (ST5000LM000) and I can't close the case with it installed (even without that metal plate with black foam box). It seems impossible but maybe anyone have any ideas?

I am guessing the next major price drop in SSDs will mean more accessible 2TB+ SSDs in that category, which might make getting that form factor of HDDs less attractive.

7mm/9.5mm is the standard thickness for 2.5" used in mobile devices, anything thicker than 9.5mm such as 12.5mm/15mm is considered a desktop/enterprise drive.
Hopefully they would be able to fit 2TB+ in a disc platter but seems like SSD is the one with such capacities. :)

The product title even says so in Amazon page.

I use 2 of those in my ranger but it's a thicker laptop so it can accommodate it well.

It's cheaper if you go the route of external drive VS the bare drive. I think it was 120 or so.

Why you dont like Optimus? It gives better mobility away from the wall
I dont think 144hz with g-sync will be better in terms of smoothness comparing with 240hz panel without it

    Oh my god
    Thanks for link
So strange for such power laptop and 144/240hz panels if it cant reach this fps cause of optimus
I thought gt76 can be better choise rather than area51m. But now it looks soo strange
And now I understand why area51m get higher fps in all cases. I was thinking some reviewers are payed by dell ))

Who knows if optimus will decrease perfomance If i connect external g-sync 165hz monitor with miniDP ?

In that case you're connecting the external monitor directly to the dGPU and bypassing Optimus, so there won't be a performance decrease.

Has anyone found a solution for two additional power bricks ? To stay them at work
Cant find how gt76 ac port looks like
I dont want eurocom 780w because of its noise
So I want to use two 330w
What Y-adapter should I use for it?
I have found similar Clevo AC-200 dual psu power adapter is it compatible? (in the middle)
Total adapter 45 EUR and two 330w delta psus per 90$

Not really. The wire in Y connector can bend a little so I placed it at the far left corner and the two bricks on the right quite far away from the notebook itself. I'd still very much like L-shaped connector instead of this but it's manageable.

Yeah, these two 230W bricks are really silent. There isn't much inside to produce any noise after all. Eurocom 780W have active cooling so it should be louder.

    Hey guys,

Today I just picked my GT76 Titan DT 9SF. I'm trying to inspect this as much as I can and at the moment I have a little sound that seems to come from the small fans, or somewhere near. With that said, this is normal? I have few days left to return it, so if this is any kind of defect I want to return it as you can imagine. Sounds like a little rattling, and it starts when I turn on pc until I turn off it.

Do I have any way to turn off all the fans to see if the sound is coming from it?

I appreciate your help. Thanks a lot.

You can try record a short clip of the sound and post it here so we can hear it to see if it's anything wrong it it.
