I just installed Battlefield 1 on this machine, I had been resisting the purchase because the new sever scheme makes it harder to play with my gaming friends but I heard the campaign was pretty good so I found a deal and got it for 49.99. It's a beautiful games and my GT73 crushes it at 1080p. I'm using Directx 12 with everything set to ultra. The GPU temp is OK but I may tweak my CPU fan profile a bit.

I had a problem when I had done a fresh windows install, then windows driver did not seem to work so I had to install Nahimic and it worked fine. I used in BF1 today.

Not picking it up in which applications? Have you tested it in the Playback devices section?

Make sure to download all of the latest drivers from MSI's website and do not use Windows' built-in driver because those can only provide minimal functions.

Got the latest drivers installed all fine, mic works off the built in laptop mic. When i go to plug in my mic into the 3.5 jack it turns off the inbuilt mic which is correct and yet can't pic up anything with external mic. I've tested everything in playback settings. I don't get?! is it a faulty 3.5 jack port??

I know this may be a silly question but it there a mute button on the mic, I myself had spent some time troubleshooting a mic only to discover it was muted.

Use the speaker icon and go to Microphone tab, perform a self-test there.
Also, increase mic boost to +20 dB and see if it helps.

Ah, okay. Have you set the external mic as the default recording device? (It's supposed to be automated, but sometimes a manual change is required.)

i do exactly the same, but its seems laptop only recognize the M2 only on UEFI and AHCI, so the option rapid storage become available, not before, so when i change to RAID and Legacy, still detecting, create the Raid between these two m2, then i proced to install windows and wala, there´s no 256GB disk, just the HDD, then i do the same, delete volumes, then i change to UEFI, still RAID of course, and detect the drives,,so i restart, still the same !"#!"#!"#, i dont know if my bios is corrupted, is the ports are failing, i upgrade to the latest bios, and nothing, plz help?

    Hi all,

Recently i had some issues with the laptop, like randomly without reason or error message the pc resetting itself, i do not have any idea why is that happening but happens more often.. at first i thought because some installed app, but after uninstalling nothing really changed.. i usually use a custom profile for gaming in the dragon center boosting up the cpu and the gpu on a decent temp, i did not have any problem with those ones too...

    Any advices or ideas ?

I am currently using the gt62vr and it's pretty quiet and temps are fine but I am thinking of returning it because hdmi to tv has failed me twice at random without me being able to recreate the problem... which makes it scarier as I can't pinpoint the problem and all the drivers are up to date.

Anyway, I am looking to add some money and buy this machine... is it quiet and are there known issues across this board like coil whine? How is the TN panel compared to the IPS one from the gt62vr (which is beautiful)? It's the only thing that is making me hesitate.

Do you mean that it restarts or that values you had set before reset?

I have never used an IPS so I cant make a comparison but I like the screen and it looks amazing while gaming. As far as noise is concerned I use a custom fan profile that keeps the temps in the low to mid 70's while playing both The Witcher 3 and Battlefield 1. The fans are not that loud, you can heard them but its nowhere near the sound when the cooler boost button is used.

Nevermind. I was looking at the 980m.

Plus, if he bought the used GT80S, I don't think the warranty is transferable on MSI laptops? I also don't think the GT80S has a 120hz 5ms display?

Are you installing two PCIe SSD and can't RAID in the BIOS or are you trying to install M.2 SATA SSD on PCIe slots?

Sorry if someone already answered the question but it's a looooong thread..

I Mean the machine doing a hard reset seemly without reason... maybe a software? I hope it's not a hardware failure, the tempretures are absolutely fine even under load.

For all of you that got the 1080P/120hz/gsync version. Try this if you have a 2k/4k monitor. Plug the laptop into your monitor with a display port cable. My laptop changed resolution to 2560x1440 @ 60Hz. I didn't know this laptop could support it. Call it an undocumented feature!

Yes. It was extremely annoying at first... after using the laptop for a month or so I have learned not to press the spacebar on the right bottom corner, it doesn´t register touch there. However, I still think its fairly bad design, because bottom right corner is where my thumb naturally rests on this size keyboard.

I think this is fairly common problem with MSI laptops with Steelseries keyboards, at least you can find lots of hits with "msi spacebar problem".

The Samsung 951 is what notebookcheck.net lists as being the standard SSD in the GT73VR 6RE Titan, and the SSD used typically doesn't differ between models in the same gen unless specifically indicated. It's always subject to change depending on availability so take that with a grain of salt and why they don't really specifically say what it comes with, but should be what it has.

Its Samsung SM951 OEM (if you ask re-seller for any upgrade make sure you first confirm the stock hardware or you may end up with Sandisk or Toshiba) and Ram is Kingston Value Ram (if you want to know)

    Hi, guys.

I got problem with my GT73VR Titan. Benchmarks and games freeze with "display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error. Some tests are fine like Furmark: half an hour - no problem, 3DMark (2013) Timespy ok. Unigine Valley ok. Old 3DMarks like 03, 05 and 06 keeps freezeing after few minutes everytime I run them. Tried Crysis 1, one day played like 1 hour with no problem, next day the same error after 10 secs. I thought it's because old benchmarks and games are not fully compatible with Windows 10, but it's happeded to me in game like Obduction which is only few months old. One day I've played few hours straight without problem, next day few minutes and freeze.

I've checked temps and they are ok (75 max under load), tried different video drivers, tried popular trick with adjusting registry value of Timeout Detection - still random freezes.

Did you guys come across that error on GT73VR or it's just me? I'm suspecting that my 1070 is faulty.
