I suspect a corrupt firmware too. I have contacted MSI Support. Waiting for their reply. Thank you

Yeah its been kinda frustrating because those almost seem like close to stock temps now without doing any modifications. Like I said, when i first received the laptop temps were low but they have gradually went up and up WITH liquid metal, fujipoly pads, and a slight BIOS undervolt. I don;t take my lappy anywhere but around the house and even then it is docked on a cooling pad most of the time. I haven't undervolted anything myself since HIDevolution did an undervolt through the BIOS of -50mv so I didn't want to mess with anything throttlestop wise.

Did you undervolt using Throttle stop or IXU or straight through Bios as well pureownuge69?

Yeah, would definitely bother me too My CPU is undervolted in the BIOS, and the GPU is undervolted via MSI Afterburner.

Also, that is certainly still better than stock.

Does anyone have the bottom lid mod with the two extra holes cut in it that they would like to sell? I "think" i figured out what my thermal problem was and might be software related. Will do more testing this weekend. But just wondering if anyone is willing to part with their bottom lid case mod

    Thanks

Out of curiosity, you believe your thermal issues to be a result of your software configuration, but would like a hardware mod to verify? What do you believe is the cause? I unfortunately do not have this part, I will be making a modified bottom case myself in future (am relatively experienced with modding laptops and general handy work).

Yeah thats right BUT you know most of us here and temps lol So I am still interested in the mod just for the sake of any temp drops. Everything is pretty much resolved on my end (Dragon Center issue apparently) but if i can shave off some more degrees with a simple thing like the bottom panel mod, then great!

Couple more questions for you all....Does Dragon Center mess with Throttle stop? If i applied an undervolt with Throttlestop and set it to run automatically with task scheduler on every start up, would Dragon Center interfere with it?

And if so, and this might be an old question so I apologize, does MSI Silent Option work with the GT63VR? I have the 1080 nvidia model with the 8750....I mainly use Dragon Center just to control fan speed and temps.

    Thanks all

Skylake version of MSI Silent option works on all Skylake and newer BGA books.
(I do not know if it works with 9th gen versions or not. Depends on the embedded controller).

@Falkentyne Thank ya kind sir! Would you recommend i just ditch Dragon Center and just use Silent Option and Throttle stop then for some undervolting?

Dragon Center does not interfere with voltage modifications in Throttlestop at all. I know as I was using Throttlestop to under-volt prior to doing so in the BIOS. :)

Hi @Alex Etrel :) Please see the above quote from one of my earlier posts. An unlocked BIOS is required to access the advanced (Administrator) configuration menus. You can do this either with a key combination, or by flashing a custom BIOS. Svet provides BIOS unlock services and modifications in exchange for donations.

Should you not want a modified BIOS, you can use the following key combination (in order): Ctrl + Shift (Right) & Alt + F2 (Left)

Note: The above key combination may differ with respect to your regions keyboard layout.

    Update:
Installed a windows update last night and it fixed my keyboard rgb issue. All the keys now show full colours.
I knew it was a software issue right from the start.
    Thanks everyone :)

    Hi guys.

the only game I play on this laptop is pubg. And I do so competitively. Every bit of fps counts.

just wondering, can this laptop handle a faster ram upgrade. I’m thinking of replacing the 16gb (8x2) 2400hz ram woth 16gb (8x2) 3200hz ram.

apparently pubg sees some improvement. 5-20 FPS increase.
    Has anyone tried this?
    Is it possible?
    Will my laptop run hotter?

    cheers for any help

I believe this laptop supports 2666Mhz ram.
    I have (16 GB x 2) 2666Mhz (slots 1 & 3 for dual channel)

    I’m still looking into this.

Does anyone know if the gt63 runs at 2666hz ram speed straight out of the box or does it need bios tinkering with xmp etc ...

I know with desktops, it doesn’t matter what ram stick speed you buy.. 2400, 2666, 3200 or 4600hz. They all run in default 2133hz unless you physically go into bios and unleash the power.

We are expecting around May/June this year. There is a large shortage of supply so we are hoping to get them so we can proceed with tests!

will they be mxm 3.0b like rtx 2080?
    Eurocom Corp.
Yes. All the cards we get will be either MXM format or on-board, directly onto the motherboard
We expect the RTX 3080 to fit in the Sky Z7 and we are hoping they would fit in the Sky C Series as well (X9C/X7C), but we will not be able to confirm all of this until we get the GPUs and test them
