hmm...are you sure? the newst GT62VR has 7700HQ CPU, which carries an on board Intel HD Graphic 630, unless msi took it out of the cpu?

The wireless network adapter disappeared from device manager for the first time just now on my msi gt62vr. It is 20 days old. I know many of u experienced it. What is the fix please?

Note: I already uninstalled the killer suite and installed the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website: http://www.killernetworking.com/driver-downloads/item/killer-drivers-64bit

My system cannot identify a wireless adapter and it only sees an Ethernet adapter.

Go to "options" -> "internet" -> "status" (first tab) -> "reset" -> "reset" again -> turn off&on -> should be fine
(I'm not using english version of windows, so it might be not exact names)

I'm planning to buy the 6RE version with 1070, I was wondering if it would hurt the battery if I play continuously for let's say 8 hours straight on demanding games while plugged in since this laptop has non-removable battery.

I always play only at home and always plugged in in my current laptop which has removable battery.
(I know desktop is better since I only play at home with available outlet, but I'am currently working outside my country, the reason I want a portable laptop(even not so portable like GT62VR as long I can bring it in my home country on my vacation easily and back to my work at other country where I work)

I also want to know if the quality of this laptop can last for 5 years or more considering I play very long hours at weekend.

The battery is removable, just put the back plate away and unplug :) If you remove it from the socket, you will also make your unit lighter.
Honestly, I don't understand why you want to spare the battery off the load. Once it's depleted, you can replaced it or live without...

Longevity?, be realist, I don't think that any current top notch system can concur systems which will be available in 2-3 years horizon.
You definitely will be able to run new titles on, the question is, at which quality.
For example: Even recent BF1 is nice system loader with Ultra settings - it burns your GPU at 80ties C [ it means significant fan noise ] - this may be "acceptable" temperature, but I think that newer titles will be kicking these temps to the Throttling levels still more and more = means upgrade naturally. [1080 may be a patch .. but ... I am not sure I want to invest another 600-800 Euros into new MXM card - especially when CPU is MB soldered. ]
mITX seems to be my next destination once my GT62 will become obsolete - Notebook segment is still not mature enough for me. a few exceptions exist -e.g. Tornado F5, maybe some [Sagers or Clevos - not avail in my parts ], but I love a silence and that's something what notebooks are still not able to offer under the load...
my 5 cents... use your money wisely - don't fill their pockets if there are some flaws and there are..everywhere.

Honestly speaking, about 80-90% of a time I'm only playing DOTA 2, on my current laptop w/ 6500U and gtx 950m, I find it playable(for myself) on mid-high settings. But still I want to try some Witcher 3, Rise of TR, actually I like RPG games in 3rd person, but i doubt that I will spend more than 20% of my free time on such games.

Is the flaws really that serious, say like I could not use it normally for non-techy guy like me? I'm not good at this reinstalling windows, bios update, firmware update, which i can read here in this forum, I don't know anything about those stuffs. All I know is to install the game and play it, update graphics driver and windows is the only thing i know how to update since it's easy..

Should I hold back on buying this laptop as you mentioned it does have flaws?

Try to reinstall latest version of killer drivers and disable the Quick Boot option into power management settings. If that doesn't work uninstall the drivers from the device manager and make sure to delete them too (there is an option to check). Install the ones from killer website and reboot.

I spent many weeks till i have found the optimal throttle-less and stable setup.
You as nontechy guy, can be probably fine with Comfort profile on this system.here and there some stutter due to throttle usually but you can survive that since u r not HC PRO 120Hz gamer and FPS hunter obviously.if you get a reasonable price, go for that.
Just select the reseller which will accept the machine back without any obstructions in case of need.
Also you need to play with audio and Wifi drivers on this GT62 system, but you can find the solutions in this thread or MSI forum.
What is your budget a size preference?

I just check the shop yesterday and the 6RE is now not available, it was priced at 2050USD (converted since we have difference currency) thel ast time I checked ..the only available now is the 7RE which i find a big price increase 2350USD!!!..

Also warranty and after sales service here in this country is the worst, and only have 1yr warranty..that's why I want a problem and worry free laptop for this price..I've been saving for this for several months and I don't wanna have regrets buying this laptop if ever.

2,3 grands is too much...also i've got 2 year of warranty..
Under your circumstances, rather postpone your purchase...
Btw, i am not sure whether there is some plug and play only notebook at these days...if you do use the common sense and google, then you can improve yourself in this area and mitigate the vast majority of your problems with any notebook.
Notebookcheck.net can help you to select some hot candidates and then investigate them here on NBR.NBR forum reveals all the possible brand issues and guys here are always eager to provide a help hand.
GT62 is one good piece of HW, with pros and cons.
    My main points:
    +good performance for 15"
    +maintainable
    +looks good
-i had to repaste 3 times till i reduced the high core temp offsets - uneven heatsink probably
    -cannot upgrade CPU
-you need to play around a bit to make this machine silent and to achieve a constant performance
-MSI service...well... DIY is better option if possible but not for you as you said

MSI will cover warranty on the original parts so even if you upgrade the GPU and the mainboard breaks down MSI will still perform repair on the system, but the GPU will not be covered since it wasn't part of the system.

Does anyone know anything you can get to protect the bottom of the laptop? I've looked everywhere and haven't been able to find anything on this. The plastic on the bottom of the laptop feels like a bump or small hit might break it. I'm looking for something that might replace the whole bottom plate or even reinforce it, such as a cover or some sort of protection. I would hate to break anything on this sweet laptop.

Hello guys, i purchased gt62vr on October , it was running well i really enjoyed it with heavy gaming, till last few days been experiencing fan issue, at first i installed new version of dragon center which allows to overlcock gpu, then started noticing gpu fan starts random boosts on and off , i reverted overclock settings to default then i updated bios firmware and EC , after the update the fan stopped working 0 RPM , doesn't change even when GPU gaming usage :(

    EC version : 16L2EMS1.106
    Bios ver : E16L2IMS.112

1st, don't burn your gpu if you have fan malfuntion!
In Dragon center, have you tried to change fan from auto to manual and changed the rpms?
At last, swap the fans and recheck.if you get 0 rpm for cpu after the change then:
    -Apply warranty
-try to check ebay for spare fan...

    GT62VR Dominator Pro-087

i`ll try to swap the fans and see , thanks for the suggestion

Reseting the wifi adapter would definitely be one thing you can try to resolve this issue. Also you may want to try to turn off the power management feature if resetting does not work. Or you can even try to unplug the adapter from its slot then put it back in again, which in many cases the last thing you can do. I had many issues with my Killer adapter as well... Disappearing, speed throttling, random limited network access, etc... So after bearing all these troubles for a couple of months, I bought an Intel 8265. It solved all the issues I encountered, at the cost of losing some Killer features which I never used.

I have the Fangbook 4 which is based on the GT62VR chassis. I got some replacement fans from Cyberpower UK (where I got the laptop). They have the model number above, and are made by Aavid Thermalloy. They don't seem to have them on their website, but you could try contacting them and ask how to get ahold of that specific fan: https://www.aavid.com

If it's dead anyway, then maybe try taking it apart and greasing the bearings or whatever. It's a longshot but you never know.

The the BIOS, is it set to "legacy" or "UEFI" mode? Some have had issues with legacy. It might help to change to UEFI, but you might have to reinstall Windows after switching to it.

Yes, you can find some nice stuff in there sometimes, though this fan is not avail there.
    Options:
    > Open support call to MSI, negotiate the fan exchange only, refuse to send to the whole unit to them just because of the fan replacement which can handle every kid, send them fan only and request the return of the spare fan.
    > contact cyberpowersystems.co.uk and check with them whether you can buy spare fans for : Fangbook 4 XTREME
    > contact EUROCOM for Tornado F5 fan procurement
    > one guy on ebay, sells the MSI stuff sometimes - recently he was selling brand new heatsink set for GT62 - since you need the fan , you cannot afford to wait , this is the last resort. PM me if you need his name.

Most of Skylake chips handle 2400MHz as long the firmware is not totally crippled.

I would like to know that guy's name on Ebay. I redid the thermal paste on this unit, and I would like to replace the fans, heat sink. Not that there's anything wrong with my laptop, I just like to replace old parts with new one, especially since I bought it refurbished.

Has anyone changed out the Killer NIC for Intel? I've heard mixed reviews about the Killer networking NIC, and a lot of people switched it for Intel, and I was wondering if anyone here has done that?

According to the reports, Intel is nicely stable without disconnection and Device MGR disappearing problems.
Though, the range is not so good ...but should be still fully sufficient. I am ordering the Intel 8265 soon too.

Killer card works just fine with the drivers only version. I have fixed the issues i had by disabling Quick Boot from power management settings and uninstalling the drivers from the device manager. I did put the laptop into sleep and let it go to sleep without issues.

Btw, has anyone tried new Nahimic audio release? I'd like to try it but it says i need an updated version of RealTek drivers, i thought those were included in Nahimic drivers releases :(
