    Hello;
I'm new to msi laptops and i have already bought MSI GT62VR 6RE a week ago.
updated windows 10 to latest version and then restored original image (through F3 recovery ----> Restore Msi default settings)
and again updated windows to latest version
and for laggy response i reset the windows throug settings (Reset this PC).
while trying finally to restored original image
like before throug f3 recovery i didn't find the (Restore Msi default settings) only reset this pc.
tried Restore Msi default settings throug win settings advanced startup and yes i found the option (Restore Msi default settings)
but after selecting it the pc restarts at recovery menu same as f3 recovery and no (Restore Msi default settings).
how to restore this option again.
    I Strongly need this option.
    also you need to know
    1. restore previous build isnt working
    2. I didnt resized or partitioned the hdd
3.The recovery partion is there and its about 17GB.

please any help to restore original options.
    and thanks for help

    Thanks for reply
I like the ability to get backup from the same machine without the need of usb or other method
only 20 minutes to get the win with all drivers ready and i like these bloatware.
just want to restore this option it looks like a premium to me
but I'll consider your idea but can you give me links to win 10 home.
and is there any method to make a local back up like msi does after installing a clean win 10
sorry for bad english and all these qustions

I am thinking about either buying the MSI GT62VR 6RE or 7RE. Is there any other difference besides the i7 6700HQ and i7 7700HQ. I could get both notebooks at the same price, with the only difference being that the 6RE with the 6700HQ comes with backpack, headset and mouse and the 7700HQ doesnt.

I would also go for the GTX1070 and the Full HD panel. I do use Photoshop quite often, but mostly on an external monitor. However, how is the color rendition on the GT62VR, because there are contradictory results in reviews with some claiming 100% SRGB and others 86% SRGB.

    Thanks a lot!

Same price it's a no brainer. Get the 7700HQ, it's significantly faster.

First week since i downgraded the wireless drivers to the 12.0.0.279, no issues, no random disconnections (which i never had anyway), the card never disappeard from the device manager when in sleep mode. Looks like i have finally fixed it...*fingers crossed* lol

    edit:

guess what? it happened again, right after a few hours of being in sleep mode. OK.

Could you give us an update if you figure out anything about the fans? I have the barebones version of this laptop, and the fans are making the same rattling noise when they reach about 1500 rpm.

The GT62VR 7RE review on notebookcheck.com was published yesterday. ;)

    >>> Link to the Google Translate version (German -> English)

Their test scores for the GT62VR 7RE are 83% sRGB and 54% AdobeRGB respectively.

Just bear in mind that the screen quality may vary and their 6RE review sample got slightly better scores, even though it's exactly the same screen.

I'd use an external monitor for colour-critical work if I were you, but that goes for most gaming laptops to be fair.

DISCLAIMER: I haven't got the GT62VR 7RE yet, but placed the order this morning after reading the review. It will arrive tomorrow.

Yes, I needed a laptop with a GTX 1070 for work (3D graphics), and the lower-than-average noise level under load is the main reason I chose the GT62VR.

    I hope I won't be disappointed. :)

It looked good initially, but they suddenly halted replies...will let you know once i get some update.
It seems that the best approach to order fans from eurocom F5 if possible...maybe they will refuse to deliver this part if you haven't bought the complete system from them.

Hey guys, I have a GT72VR 6RD (basicly a GT62VR with bigger screen), recently I have a very high CPU usage with Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation. I think the problem started when I updated Nahimic to 2.3.8. I tried to update it to 2.3.12 but the problem still occurs. And for some reason I also cannot open any games related to Steam, while the other ran by Uplay, Origins and Battle.net can be opened normally. I dont know what is causing this. Anyone having the same problem with me?

I d also disable the VR optimization in DGC.it is futile unless you have any helmet installed.

BTW, why to use DGC, uninstall it and use Throttle stopnor XTU for performance tuning and silent option for fans.the rest of the content within DGC is absolutely redundant since you have all those sub apps in the systray.

I normally would agree with you %100 but this time around I have found the profiles quite useful, I like the profiles. I just hit one click and my color, sound and OC setting are set, it also launches Afterburner for me. This has also inspired me to try out the Asus software that came with the motherboard in my recently build desktop, maybe I'm just getting old, lol.

Update on network issues, killernetworking website shows a new update (BETA) for our E2400 + Wireless Suite

    http://www.killernetworking.com/driver-downloads/item/e2200-e2400-wireless-beta

I'm gonna install them even tho we know the suite is problematic, i hope they also fixed the card disappearing from device manager =)

    EDIT:

All good for now, i have disabled Killer Service and stopped KNM (killer network manager) from loading on boot since i don't want to use their app. I'll let you guys know if there is any issue in the next hours/days.

If you got the random disconnection issues i suggest giving it a try, it won't hurt for sure.

Finally pulled the trigger. I just ordered a gt62vr dom pro-087.

Can anyone kindly share with me a guide on how to do a clean win10 install using the same serial number?

Also, if there is an optimization guide for 1st time users, that is some DOs and DONTs and what audio and wireless drivers to install and what to avoid etc... that would be appreciated.

    Thank you

You won't even be prompted to enter a key as Windows 10 setup will pull the built in key from your BIOS automatically......

but if you wanna know what is your Windows Product Key that is built in to the BIOS to save it somewhere just in case........

Download RWEverything and launch it a admin

Click on ACCESS > ACPI Tables

Then go to the MSDM Tab:

    Thanks Phoenix.

Regarding the nahimic audio drivers there were many reported problems. What should i do with it? Uninstall nahimic or update from their site?

Same applies for the wireless adapter disappearing from device manager. How should i handle the Killer drivers?

I don't know about Nahimic, didn't have any issues with it

For the Killer Drivers, only install the drivers without the Killer suite:

    Killer WLAN Driver v12.0.0.285/BT v10.0.0.279

Ok I have a question too.

Recently, my laptop (gt62vt 15.6 g-sync included) started updating my Nvidia driver without my permission.
The issue is that if i use a driver later than 373.06, I get micro stutters and my performance drops (for example, firestrike goes from 13k to ~10k).
When I watch the fps meter, I see 60 constant, but a microstutter which drops to around ~45 every second or two.

    What i've tried so far:
    1. disable V-sync
    2. other Nvidia drivers
    3. Disable G-Sync

    Nothing worked.

I didn't do a fresh windows install - too problematic now. Might have time next month, but not now.

Only solution is to roll-back to 373.06, as it is the only stable Nvidia driver my laptop can handle.

Anyone encountered a similar issue and/or knows a fix?

    Thanks

I had some performance issues with drivers difrent than provided by msi (not sure if that was 373.06, the ones from the msi site anyway) - UNTIL i've uninstalled Dragon Center and SCM.
Now GTX works as it should with the lastest driver.

You can also turn off automatic driver update in w10: system->advanced system settings->hardware? (second tab)->install settings? (second button) -> no.
(I'm not using windows in english, so i'm not sure about the names of tabs)

Yes, many times, and then it comes back with a Windows update or a new video card and new drivers, so I gave up on it many years ago.

Disable Hibernation - Run As Administrator a cmd Window:

    powercfg /h off

    Then reboot, and that's it.

Then go to the Power Control panel and set the actions for power / sleep / etc to Do Nothing.

Then you can close the lid when moving between locations and reopen it when you arrive - 15 minutes or so is safe enough, probably 30 minutes if pushed - otherwise do a Shutdown - which without Hibernation is a full Shutdown, and then when you are ready to work again, power up.

Boot times with SSD are so fast that it never bothers me to need to reboot a couple of times a day, but the more you do it the more optimized you learn to be in your usage.

Disabling Sleep / Hibernation solves so many problems, so many little irritations, it's more than worth the "potentially useful" promise of Sleep - that never reliably delivers over time.

UPDATE: Sadly I had to return the MSI GT62VR 7RE to Amazon UK as there was a stuck red pixel on the far left and the right fan rattled, regardless of the fan speed. I should mention that it didn't seem like it was brand new (despite the fact that I paid £1,900 for what I thought was a 'new' PC), so perhaps Amazon is playing pass-the-parcel until somebody with lower standards decides to keep this laptop.

If I disregard the rattling noise from the right fan, the GPU/CPU temperatures were actually pretty good while running the Time Spy benchmark but the fans weren't as quiet under load as I had hoped. The total weight of the laptop and the 230W charger + cables came in at a smidgen under 4 Kg. Despite the stuck pixel, I was positively surprised by the quality of the screen in general, and I only spotted very faint backlight bleed in the top left and right corners on black backgrounds.

That being said, the fan and stuck pixel issues eventually made me join the dark side and I ended up ordering a Kaby Lake Asus GL502VS from HiDevolution (fulfilled by Amazon UK) which should arrive tomorrow. It's thinner and a bit lighter and hopefully the fan noise will be less intrusive if I undervolt the CPU & GPU a bit. The grass might not be greener on the other side, but I live in hope...

Dear Amazon, please don't send me another lemon...

A friend of mine got an open box GT62 from Newegg here in the states, it was a lemon and was freturned, he goat a better one from Amazon. With the money we pay for these things we shouldn't have to accept rattling fans.

Good luck with your Asus laptop, I just build a desktop with an Asus MB and its a solid board.

I restarted it after the update was stuck at 52% with no wifi or hdd activity whatsoever. Now it is stuck at the msi screen after 3 hard restarts. It is no longer booting! What do i do?

I didnt have the chance to create the backup image on a 16gb usb. Am i doomed? No matter how many times i restart it, it remains stuck at the msi logo screen. Hitting f3 and resetting to factory settings might help?

Now after the factory reset my account is deleted and there is this Administrator account that wont let me do anything in recovery mode because it needs a password. I am now even locked out of recovery mode! Anyone knows the pass for the default admin account? I cant believe this is happening i just bought it today after 6 years of delay and research and unemployment and careful thought..... :(

Does pressing the battery reset button with a pin help? I am literally locked out of the system. On the first day.

I guess you could try the reset button but it seems like your problem is with Windows.

Battery reset didnt do anything. After i tried the factory reset (f3 built in msi recovery) and it didnt proceed because of safe mode error, i tried factory reset again but it is not reverting to normal boot and safe mode is still active and disrupting recovery. So Even formatting the ssd with factory reset (msi recovery system) is not removing the safe mode setting! How is that possible?! All other recovery options require elevated built in Administrator password. Anyone knows this password?? Please someone give me hope i am desparate and cant believe this is happening. I have been saving those $1800 for six years.

I am facing a loop: " Windows cannot complete installation in safe mode. To continue installing Windows restart the computer"

I'm not too good with this stuff but do you have another ssd to try, put a blank one in there and use a windows USB install.

No i do not. I know of the bcedit command which can force exit safemode but for that i need access to command prompt and for that i need the password for the stupid built in elevated Administrator account that came out of favtory. Im literally locked out.

I do have another laptop with windows 7 and an 8gb usb flash stick at the moment. Can anyone think with me how can i make use of them to regain access to my msi gt62vr that locked me out because of the safe mode loop?

Do you have Windows media so you can boot from in order to get into recovery? If not, download a new iso and create a Windows usb installation media.
