Found it.. the 6700T will do 3.4ghz under max loaded 4 cores according to this info:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_...kylake_microarchitecture_.286th_generation.29

That's pretty strong compared to the 3.1ghz of the 6700hq! Makes it a nice choice for the barebones for someone who wants more power than the 6700hq but also less heat/power requirements. 300mhz isn't much of a gain and would still make for a far less fun build with everything locked down on the CPU but yeah.. Still a safe, solid choice.

It's a big step up from the ULV 15w CPU's, but I can't find many devices that use it.

Wow nice find. Could be an excellent choice for someone looking to keep temps and power draw lower. Hopefully leaving plenty of power for OC on 230w for GTX 1070.

Still I find myself demanding that unlocked K powwahh. Special K is what I want.

That it. I'm renaming the laptop Special K.

Yeah at least we have to realize that we will may run into power issues with the 230watt when both the 91watt cpu and 1070 are full tilt in games.. I may just undervolt and downclock the 6700k for gaming.

I plan to shave power where I can. I'm going just 2 ram dimms, a single low power sata ssd, I will undervolt the **** out of my i7 while maxxing clocks. If it ends up being I need the 330w, so be it. I'll grab it.

Does the seller offer a PSU upgrade? It may be possible to use a 330w PSU.

With a 6700k and a 1070 you definately want a slightly greater than 230w PSU, and the only next choice up is the 330w.

Unless you want to go the PSU duplexer and plug in 2 x 230w PSU's :)

330w is available for purchase yes. I just don't want to lug around the extra weight personally.

Problem is finding a decent price for the 330 watter. Seen them for around $165 which is a bit steep. And finding one with a 4 pin vs the barrel plug is also a nightmare.

It's in stock where the cheap delivery is, and more and more reports confirm this is a sexy monster beast and cool at the same time. Looking forward to getting my hands on it and replaying witcher, also being able to play overwatch with lower input lag and not on 480p quality will be great :D

Any signs of a 6820hk version of the 1070 GT62VR in the US?

There are 6 models in the US, and they all have the 6700HQ...

    MSI GT62VR DOMINATOR PRO-005
    MSI GT62VR DOMINATOR PRO-012
    MSI GT62VR DOMINATOR PRO-027
    MSI GT62VR DOMINATOR PRO-073
    MSI GT62VR DOMINATOR PRO-078
    MSI GT62VR DOMINATOR PRO-087

Ridiculous that there are 6 models with that basic CPU. If MSI ever brings it to the US models it will
Most likely have that useless 4K display.

Alienware 120hz gsync 400nit display is "coming soon" according to their config website. I need that panel! I would pay upwards of $200 for it.

It will show up on LCDscreens.com for far far less.. around 100 bucks I bet.

    Current 4K 15 inch cost about 70.

Yeah, IDK what's up with MSI and no 6820HK for the US GT62VR models, maybe call / email sales and ask?

Is the AW 1080p 120hz display available for the 15" too? I thought that was only a 17" screen; so far that's all we have seen.

Honestly I wouldn't mind swapping out the 1080P screen for a 4K one. I haven't experienced either G-Sync or anything higher than 59hz display, so I would be content with the higher resolution over those.

The NO LOGO is a sexy beast. Blacked out sleeper. The box was first torn into by Eurocom as they "built" it. Then they retape it prior to shipment. All in all very impressed with how it arrived.

They even gave me a free 80gb (lol) HD. I have to imagine it was either shipped with the unit or used for testing and they forgot to remove it. Maybe I will search it later and see what hidden gems are on it. All screws and brackets included.

It's official name is actually 16L13.

Honestly it feels lighter? Dimesions look identical, chassis is identical other than stupid lights, dragon logo, no red on bottom cover or on lid, headphones and speaker jacks are multi colored and not gold, lid is flat and not like the GT62 one where the lights are.

It's sexy and o ooo sooo fast. Seriously I notice the speed just installing all my programs. The 6700k is ridiculously faster.

I find myself typing fine, but I managed to get it to replicate the issue. I just typed all of this without the issue even showing at all. So the answer is maybe? If I hit the very very far bottom right the issue can be shown, but it hasn't affected me at all yet. Not a single missed stroke.

Silent. :) Fans are the exact same. I am already undervolted 150mV. Will continue to push until I get a crash, and then fine tune for 24/7 stability.

This laptop seems to be everything I have been looking for.

Also my screen overclocked higher easier. 65hz was save and apply with CRU and no fussing around.

Initial impressions are the barebones is the way to go. You don't skimp on quality and gain serious CPU performance and a super clean looking laptop. This has to be the best 15" DTR laptop you can buy. Clevo has nothing on this beast.

Wow if the fans are that quiet under max CPU load, that is truly impressive.. Can't wait to see what temps you end up with stock and your max undervolt.

Prime 95 small FPU pushed it to 90+ C on CPU at stock fans and stock CPU. :D Expected..

I'll test cooler boost and undervolted CPU.

    Testing a game (H1Z1) now.

Nice! So it does hold up even on taxing conditions
What battery life does it show if you unplug it? Backlight bleed? Is thickness more uniform (except for the slight curvature on the front)?

Thickness matches my GT62VR that I had. Zero backlight bleed, even better than my GT62 that maybe had the very very slightest bit/zero.

I'll check battery life for you.

Great news, just in time for the weekend :)

Can you please check the package power drawn for the CPU under 100% x4, what the frequency is that held, and temps, maybe show a snapshot of hwinfo64 for CPU / GPU area showing power / temps during p95+GPU test (heaven?).

Fan speed and sound level during that test would be fun to know too.

Is there a Max fan speed button, or can you set it somehow? Max cooling for best performance during benchmarking.

    How exciting :)

Guys for those interested there's the Panasonic MEI96A2 IPS panel used on the Aorus X5 v6. It's a 60Hz 2,880x,1,620 WQHD+ G-Sync enabled LCD with 95% sRGB colour coverage.

Just add it to the list of possible display upgrades  ;)

Running H1Z1 which is a very CPU intesive game as its on the planetside engine, with cooler boost/max fan button I am at max temps of 71GPU and 74C CPU with 4.0ghz across all 4 cores.

Seems to be sitting in mid 60s on both. Great performance.

Have you tried just normal fans on auto? Do you have Witcher3? That game on max settings really gets things heated up on this GT62 on auto fan settings.. good to know max fans will keep everything under control.. although I rarely use max fans it's pretty loud for me so I prefer auto lol

I don't have that very large game installed at the moment. I may try and get it installed this weekend. You can expect high 70s to low 80s.

Rainbow Six Seige at max settings with a 150mhz overclock on the GPU is running at low to mid 60s C on GPU and CPU. Max Fans On.

Gotcha. I prefer gaming on auto because of how quiet the machine is but good to know it runs cold on max.
