Oh yes many many times but coming from an Aorus X3 it is to me, hence the internal fight. I'm hoping a side by side picture will help me decide.

The case was pretty solid I had no problem with it. My only problem with this laptop was the i7 7700hq runs hot when on auto fan config. I almost got 90c (stock thermal paste) on prime95, in coolerboost mode I had 84-88c(stock thermal paste) on prime95, but when in idle mode the processor was 40-50c(stock thermal paste). This is because of the thinness of the laptop the more it is thin the more heat it will get. I was surprise about the 1070 max q because it runs cool 39 in idle but when in gaming I only had 70c. The only solution is to undervolt or repaste the stock thermalpaste. I undervolted mine to -0.120v and I got 70-80c no more worries about thermal throttling/overheat. If you repaste maybe you will get more good results. I wished I had ordered to HID evolution which they offer repasting it to cool lab thermal paste out of the box.

Ug I wish this laptop wasn't so good. Then it would be such an easier decision between this and the Raider.

For me, after I settled on the performance I can live with, the next priority when deciding what laptop to buy is the weight. That's the reason I went for the Stealth.

I am old. My work requires occassional travel. But I want to game when I'm on the road. The Stealth allows me to have a relatively lightweight (5.4 lbs; 3.96 for the laptop + 1.29 for the power supply) gaming rig. Last time I was in Toronto airport, it took me 20 mins to get to the baggage claim area from my arrival gate. Lugging a 8 lb Raider would have been an issue for me.

So maybe think about the other aspects of owning either Stealth or Raider. Maybe that will help you decide.

For those who are having a hard time like me deciding between the Raider and Stealth, @Donald@HIDevolution was awesome enough to get me some comparison pictures to help me decide.

Hey guys, quick question for those who have underclocked and repasted. Are you still seeing thermal throttling? Thanks

No. I got between 75-80c when undervolt not underclocked.

Just got this guy for work and home.
Its really light for what it has packed in.

Really love it but I need to know does this guy work well with a dock?
I need a dock to place this on to hook up to a monitor mouse and keyboard.

Anyone have any experience with it?

Thanks and also thinking about re-installing windows pro.
Has anyone done this process have any advice?

    Thanks!

You can go with docking station that uses USB 3 as connectivity.
Are you having issues with your OS? If not, then it's best to leave it as is. If you simply want to remove bloatware you can do it by going through each item under Uninstall a program feature.

Not too much OS issues other than a little sluggish here and there and Chrome seems to have some issues of its own.
Do you have a list of bloat that should be uninstalled? I did check some they seemed to be outdated.

Oh and any docks you use that you can refer me to?

    Thanks

Could someone post the model number of the 120hz display? I've been looking into possible upgrading my gs63vr(gtx 1060) to the 120 hz tn panel used in the new gs63vr. Thanks in advance!

Maybe you can put the long list between spoiler tags to shorten the post for the page?

Scott, I wrote this to him. If any of the software was installed by him then he doesn't need to remove it. If you have any suggestions, feel free, thanks.
Note: Office Click to Run is Office 365 and trial version so he doesn't need it if he has no license to activate it.

    Code:
You can remove these if you didn't install them.

    Kevin

Thanks for the quick updates on these.
The Office 16 Click-to-Run is actually from the web O365 we use at work.
I will have to leave these on for future updates.

Also... I took this list from CMD line and most of the ones you listed, I am not able to find from IOBit Uninstaller...

    Thanks again =)

Yeah, I thought the O365 might had been from work/school due to a newer build you have but just wanted to make sure.

So did you used wmic product get name to obtain the software components? What if you use App & features to obtain the list? Like this picture below.

I received my gs63vr 7rg yesterday and I'm very impressed with it so far!

I reinstalled windows to move it over to Windows 10 Pro (I wanted Hyper-V) and installed drives in the recommended order said in the forum (thanks for that!)

I've undervolted to -0.120v and its stable while getting around 160 fps in GTA5. I've yet to try other games but some are installing now.

Build quality is superb and coming from a mac I am very happy.

Without a lot more time to test and be more accurate, times are:

All numbers are approximate and on comfort mode (all time not gaming will pretty much be in this mode)
    Normal browsing: 170mins
    watching 1080p films:140
Gaming on Sportmode (whispermode on): 70mins

I hope that gives you an idea.

How does the MSI GS63's display perform with his new 120hz panel (for gaming or basic desktop experience)? what about color accuracy etc.

120hz panel is okay even in desktop or gaming it is smooth (no complaint). As for the TN Panel, this is one of the best TN panel I've ever seen on a laptop. Color accuracy is great but not as accurate vs IPS. I'd rather get a great TN panel without any dead pixel, backlight bleed issues vs IPS (backlight bleed) for gaming.

You can still undervolt it to -0.135 for better temperature. I had 70-80c cpu while gaming and 80-85c max when running prime95. What is Hyper V? Does your laptop had Windows 10 pro out of the box?

Trying undervolting for the 1st time. Thank you James and Quezacot for posting the values you used.

I started with -0.120v but my laptop failed to complete the IntelXTU Memory Stress Test - after completing the CPU Stress Test ok.

At -0.115v, it completed the CPU/Memory/Graphics Stress tests so I tried playing XCOM2. After about an hour of gameplay, the game hang. I had to hard-reset/press power button for a few secs, to bring everything back up.

Which brings me to -0.110v. No issues so far. I played XCOM2 yesterday for 4 hours straight with no issues (gamesaves all the way, I suck at Ironman).

So it looks like -0.110v is my magic number. Haven't tried running down the battery yet with the new setting to get actual battery timings. I did notice that when I started it up today without it plugged in, Windows estimated the battery to last 5 hrs instead of the usual 4.

Nice I may try that thanks!

Hyper-V is a windows virtualisation software that allows you to run different os's (linx, windows, windows server). I use it a lot for work plus for a lot of the training I do.

It had win 10 Home installed out of the box but you need the Pro version to run this.

Guys, sorry for the quick and lame question:
Where can I get image for windows "clean" installation? Is it in hidden partition or downloadable from MSI/MS site? Or even you meant Win10 full reset feature?
    Thanks

You have to download the Windows 10 media creation Tool. You can then select which version of Windows 10 you want it to download as an ISO file.

Ordered this yesterday here in the UK and it arrived today but have had to raise a RMA with retailer due to a fault with the chassis.

In case anyone's interested... I get 4 hours on battery (I stop when the low battery 10% notification comes up) under the following conditions:

    - Light use only. Applications running the whole time are desktop Outlook2016; RDP over WiFi with VPN; Firefox.
    - It probably also helped that I got rid of the HDD; system only has 1 SSD (1TB Samsung 960 EVO).
    - System is also undervolted to -0.110V.

I'm cross-posting this in the other GS63 forum, for maximum visibility. I just received my laptop yesterday, and it's curved. I don't know if this is normal; I suspect not, but I figured you all would know.

In the pictures, you can see a photo of the whole laptop from the front, a closeup showing the middle three feet (which don't touch the surface) and a picture across the front, showing the curve.

On the subject of durability, I travel a lot, which is why I want a thin and light laptop. I really do treat my hardware gently, but it's subject to overhead compartments, turbulence, and occasional handling by other people, all of which are a little bit beyond my control. Basically, the laptop is constantly in a hostile environment. Did I get the wrong machine? Is it too fragile?

Mine also has a similar curved condition and I've come to accept it as a condition, not an issue. It hasn't affected the function of the laptop, as far as I'm concerned. I've enjoyed owing my GS63 for almost 2 months now. Of course, that is purely subjective.

Regarding travel... I use a Timbuk2 Command Backpack to lug my GS63VR (and previously, the VAIO 15 Flip). It protects it well. I chose the Command because it is TSA friendly and it fits nicely under the seat - which is the only place we're guaranteed a spot because all those other people who ignore carry-on restrictions have already used up more than their fair share of overhead compartments both above their seats and those ones they passed on the way to their seats and probably past their seats (sorry for the rant, I'll stop here).

Back to my point, the Command backpack meets my needs of carrying the laptop with me everyday, whether in my car's trunk, in a ferry or in an airplane. Since the backpack fits snugly under the airline seat, turbulence is not an issue. Just make sure that you pick a window seat. If you like an aisle seat, then you run into the possibility that the seat in front of you may have an electronics pack or whatever they call them, that reduces the amount of useable space under the seat. Then you're stuck with using the overhead compartments.

As for letting other people use my laptop, I just don't let them.

Oh man, this! Back when Meet the Parents came out, it was a really good idea. But that was before 9/11, and if I remember correctly, it was before airlines started charging extra to check bags. When I travel I use a similar shape bag as the command, and I usually just store it under the seat as well. Nowadays, airlining means suffering in silence anyway, so losing the extra bit of leg room doesn't affect me once I retreat to my happy place.

The extra bit of info that I didn't include is that I'm a crewmember on a corporate plane, and I'm occasionally in situations where somebody else is handling my luggage. Our smaller plane doesn't have enough storage space in the cockpit, so whoever unloads the passenger luggage will likely handle my bag, sometimes it's not on top of the crew bags as we load the rental car, etc. It's very small minority of the time, but I didn't worry about it with my last computer, and I'm not sure if I need to now.

I think your main worry should be keeping that brick of a charger we have from banging against the laptop.

In my case, I also carry a leather pad-folio inside the Command (I'm a doodler) between the laptop compartment and the compartment where I place the brick. I don't carry the pad around to cushion the laptop. I just realized now that there's an added benefit to carrying it around.

Anyone having issues with the laptop powering down while in sleep mode after closing the lid or pressing windows + L key?
    mine keeps doing that.

Also, those that are undervolting, are you guys doing it in BIOS or a program?

    Thanks
