This is what I see, the p370sm3 is on the right, the MSI on the left. The Clevo is a TN screen, the MSI a IPS, both are 1080. The Clevo has one of the better TN screens.

Smart phone cameras are not very good. I had to keep it under 2mb, I would have take a picture with a real Nikon camera.

The screen bright for the IPS panel in the Tornado is not as eye-bleeding bright as my Windows 8.1 HP laptop. TNs are usually brighter.

What color profile are you using? Standard and Gaming are the brightest and best colors IMO.

I am not using any profile color. I have not calibrated the colors, I usually dont anyways.

I am not really messing with it too much atm, I am still waiting for some main laptop parts.

You need to install MSI Dragon center from GT62VR website. It will make the colors brighter and better. It installs a version of Dragon Control Center for the Tornado F5

A lot of the MSI utilities will work on the barebone systems like that if you get them from MSI's site. I believe on some things like firmware updates, you would want to see if there is one specifically for your barebones system. I think we have seen some differences in those in the past on models we've sold, if I remember correctly.

Yes it works perfectly. It installs a different non Dragon looking version and appears to be made for he barrbones systems and correctly identifies the system as a Tornado F5.

For whatever reason @Eurocom Support this program isn't available for download on your drivers webpage and is also helpful to change the keyboard colors.

I actually use KLM (Keyboard LED Manager) for lights.. I feel it's far more lightweight.. Since really that's the only thing I would use in Dragoncenter anyways..

The LG panel on our laptops are definitely on the warmer side.. but it's also far more accurate than what you've been seeing on the TN Clevo. That thing looks like it's running at 8000k color temp.. geez. Too blue and harsh on the eyes I bet.

AUO screens are really bright - what make is this screen?, I always need to run with them at 50% - after a little acclimation from runnnig at 100% too long :)

It's a good thing, as you have a brightness range that will work well outdoors or in bright direct light, but indoors it needs to be turned way down.

    Diversion,

I saw in the other Eurocom thread you had it automatically change profiles to the battery saver when you unplugged the laptop. What options do you pick to automatically have it do that? Thanks.

Click options button on main Throttlestop window and then check off what number profile you want for AC profile and number for Battery profile. Just make sure you set the profiles up properly beforehand.

Surely windows 7 doesn;t wanna place nice with 1070 or new pascal cards.

Guys, does the USB C on this laptop do display output? If it does, does it have a lot of latency? I was thinking of getting a USB C to HDMI/USB A hub so I don't have to be plugging and unplugging 20 tons of cables each time I move the computer :p

It might be possible that the GT62 does infact use HDMI 2.0, or that your TV in particular is not accepting/using 4:4:4. At this point we would need more 16L13 owners to confirm, because in the end they both use different motherboards, chipsets and most likely connectors.

Thanks duder, appreciate it. Working on undervolting both CPU core and cache. Is there a way to limit the multiplier when I am on battery? Currently the lowest I can go with 3.4 GHZ by disabling turbo in the main area. Wonder if I cant limit multiplier and lower due to it being a non K cpu.

Not that I would do this, but can you remove the gpu and run solely on the internal gpu? I realize the limited uses just curious. I know Optimus is disabled but not sure if that disables the igfx completely or not.

I am using XTU with the i7 6700 non K with .165 undervolt at 3.7ghz. You can use throttlestop or XTU to control the speed or clocks to your liking.

Are you able to set the 4-core boost frequency the same as the 1-core boost frequency (i.e. 4.0 GHz)?

No it doesnt pass 3.7ghz. The area to get the extra 3 slot is locked out. OH well, I dont really need that much extra PAWAR!! Its able to undervolt to -.165, that is so much more than my current laptop 4700qm, that does barely -.60v. These skylake processors have so much extra unnecessary voltage.

I will be doing some video editing soon and I might sell the 6700 and get a i5 7600k if I need that extra power.

Hello. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on the Tornado F5 from Canada. If I order without a HDD (just the HDD bracket included in the selection), am I able to open the back and install a 2.5" SSD without breaking my warranty?

If you select "disable turbo boost" the processor won't clock past 3.4 ghz and perhaps save you a bit more power/temps as well.

Has anyone had any luck with MSI afterburner or evGA precision getting the voltage unclocked for the GPU? I was hoping to undervolt a bit and see what kind of performance I could get.

Svet might be working on it eventually, but so far no one has been able to crack it yet :(

What voltage is your GPU running at btw? Mine seems to cap out at ~0.800v, which seems ludicrously low considering desktop cards can hit ~1.09v.

I dont need lower temps, at 3.7 and .160 undervolt its hitting 71C and thats with the stock thermal compound. If I get a faster processor I'll delid it and get CLU. I once had CLU with a alienware m18x r2 running at 4.5ghz (i7 3920xm) with the triple pipe heatsink. Those where fun days with that killer processor.

You have be on power save mode or something. With the gpuz render test the voltage is 1.062 with the core running at 1860mhz.

Yes, you can upgrade yourself. Just make sure that you are grounded, use ESD strap so you don't cause and ESD damage to your SuperBeast. Use high quality parts only, don't cut corners, ask questions before you start upgrading.
