    Good deal! Not to worry..... MSI had an update patch, after units were shipped. Did MSI Live Update find anything outdated?

    There was a few things that were not on the computer that it got like a audio driver and stuff like that. The only thing updated was MSI Super Charger.

    What is the 570m? Notebookcheck.net don't even have any game rating for that card.

    It has to be better than the 6970m and about 40% better than the 560m and only a notch below the 485m, am I correct?

    Not many drivers update from MSI however, one recommend update is the 275.50 driver from nVidia:

    NVIDIA DRIVERS 275.50 BETA

    Just repaired the keyboard with 2 inches of double sided tape. It worked perfectly and the laptop looks better than ever.

    I got my GT780R yesterday. Then I come on here and find out about the version coming out with an upgraded video..blah! There are also some other things that are slightly disappointing that I've noticed so far.

    1. I had the issue where I couldn't make the backup disks as some people have complained about (os_install and data label error), but not really a big deal because I will probably never use them since I install a clean version of windows anyways. I only got 1 hdd (which might be why the backup feature errored out) since I had an ssd I wanted to install the os on anyways.

    2. I am having some issues typing, but nothing major. Sometimes keys just don't seem to register. The spacebar seems to be the most noticeable because sometimes it just doesn't register even though it feels as though I've bottomed out (seems to happen when my thumb is in a particular spot).

    3. One really annoying thing was not having a eject button on the optical drive. This was making me angry when trying to eject the drive when initially turning on the computer so I could put my Windows 7 disk in. It didn't respond immediately, but I found if I went to the bios settings screen, it would work. I upgraded to a bluray combo drive and it seems that the pinhole for a manual eject doesn't work. Also annoying was after installing Windows I had to install the s-bar software to get the eject button to work. It works when I'm in the bios settings just fine, so it seems that the bios should be able to have control over the eject without requiring s-bar! (I would almost prefer to get the original bezel that came with the drive even though it doesn't match.)

    That's all I can think of or now, but I haven't really used it that much yet aside from installing OS and drivers. Can't wait to see how it performs in sc2, hopefully the keyboard isn't an issue.

    You need to have 2 partitions, C: Partition must be named OS_Install and D: Partition must be named Data. Its required just for the process, feel free to change it after the discs are done.

    I figured it was something like that. I ordered mine without the second hdd and only had a single C (os_install) partition. I didn't feel like splitting that to make a backup disk I would probably never use.

    The issues I am more concerned about were the optical drive eject and the keyboard not registering occasionally.

    There will always be something better out there. A year from now the 570M and Sandy Bridge will be crap compared to much faster Ivy bridge and much powerful 28nm GPUs that also will produce a whole lot less heat.

    In hardware world everything goes fast :)

    Hey guys, just received my new gt780r and am loving every minute of it. The only problem I am having is that I cannot change the colors of the LEDs under the keyboard through the KLM software that was already installed on the computer. When I try and open up the program by double clicking the KLM icon on my desktop absolutely nothing happens. I was just wondering if any of you know what to do. A search on the internet has landed me with nothing. I can still change the light by pressing the shortcut on the powerstrip however so the software is the problem.

    Sadly, the icon on the desktop does not work. Use the one in your System Tray.

    I would delete the one on the desktop.

    I figured out the issue I am having with typing on this keyboard. The problem occurs when I press keys near the bottom edge, which I happen to do with the spacebar and several keys above the top row. Does anybody else have this issue?

    I can deliberately duplicate this issue by using my pointer finger and pressing keys on their bottom edge. Here is what I get when pressing the buttons 5 times each like this:

    `````11113355556666888889999900000----=====qqqqwwwweeeeerrrtyyyuuuupppp[\\\\\\aaaassdddffggghhhhjjjjjklll;;;;;'''''zzzzzxxxxcccccvvvvvbbbbbnnnnnmmmmm,,,,...../////
    As you can see, some keys are worse than others (2, 3, 4, 7, r, t, i, o...). I'm thinking this is defective as I've never had issues typing with other keyboards.
    This is true, but I think I could have waited a month or so...maybe! It sucked not having a machine for two weeks when I sent back the dv7. Also, I had the shop strip mine down to 8gb ram anyways since I wasn't planning on using VMs and 8gb was plenty with room to upgrade if needed.
    Wait until you have the new keyboard, and have used your MSI GT780R for a couple of months before you decide.
    Also, keep in mind that ALL manufacturers have issues with new releases from time to time.
    Got this laptop today, and love it!
    I installed AVG free, and it detected some stuff in program files/intel/bluetooth
    this was imediately after I got it though, hadn't used the internet yet, so It's just AVG being over sensative right?
    either way I told it to ignore it.
    Also the P1 button has stopped activating the turbo, how do I set it back?
    Maybe try reinstall S-Bar:
    And make sure nVidia overclocking tool is installed and running in the system tray:
    Well it looks like the end-July forecast is a big 'no-go'. :rolleyes:
    Pre-Orders should begin very shortly in the U.S., so it would appear the forecasted ETA of mid to late August is most likely. (fingers crossed)
    No please don't compare. I use Fourier analysis alot in my work both FPGA toolkit as well into software. Looking into Forecast :) I expect 4 weeks as delivery date according to normal Euro standards. Have a look at Google translate they expect limited numbers from MSI.
    I have already mailed many dealers in Europe regarding the release date of DXR but still I trust Ken Lee more than others. I will keep you guys updated. By the way I recently assembled a 2600K, 16 GB, RAId 1 3 TB, 570GTx SLI, z68 based PC using Noctua D-14 cooler and it just rocks but weighs a ton consumes power equivalent to my AC. Therefore all guys you need MSi GT 780DXR just like me.
    Yeah they will shortly. There is no point taking preorder without having real stocks. If you want just pre-order for gt780 right now and quote you wanna wait for DXR that would satisfy your ego that you did order. But don't ask for an ETA. Maybe transfer me some money 30% on top of GT780 I can pre order on your behalf. How about that?
    i feel the same way. i kept saying to myself i wouldn't go out and buy the latest, greatest, newest thing...
    ken, or any other seller, can you answer how feasible it would be to swap out the existing gtx560m for the gtx570m when it is released for the msi gt780's? obviously, a new power brick, but what else does it entail?
    Bios & EC updates, 180W power adapter, and a GTX 570 swap. Very feasible, but I think the problem folks will have, is getting their hands on a 570M card. I have a hunch these will be somewhat exclusive to new notebooks only...... least while supplies are limited, and the tech is new.
    Oh yeah Ken, A couple of things I want to point out,
    In the pre-order for the DXR, you should change the 150W Adapter into 180W. Also throughout the customization pages, you wrote GTX 555M and GTX 540M which should be GT555M and also GT540M..etc
    Fudge, I think even with the early August date, I wouldn't have had enough time to get it before I myself shipped out for college. Ken, do you guys do upgrades? Maybe I will send in my machine for an upgrade to the 570m during the holiday season. :D
    Have fun. :)
    Corrected, thanks xMAR99. :)
    If MSI will be selling just the 570M card in the future yes. both Gt780R and GT780DXR are exactly the same so all you need is the 570M, 180W adapter and BIOS update to support 180W AC.
    Well...actually...there are only 2 official SKU's for the Channel.
    The 3rd SKU mentioned...-099 is a special SKU that Channel resellers may have a hard time delivering.
    Some might be a bit too fast, I guess. ;)
