Yes it works also before the update. not 100% perfect ( got 2 blue screens at the first days) but after the new BIOS now it runs perfect as in all my other pc´s.

    i can commend it. :)

Guys, I am having some pretty bad overheating issues with the 330. I ma not sure what is going on, but I have a feeling that the fan is not going to max speed, causing the lappy to turn itself off after a bit. It happens when I am playing Black Mesa, it goes for about 15 minutes then it shuts down because of the heat. I place it on a flat table and even put four bottle lids under it to lift the base and allow better air flow. I played dark sould for like 100 hours a few weeks ago and it never overheat or had any issues. Is there a way to manually control the fan speed?

Edit: I have tried other games and it still overheats. It shuts down at around 98 degrees. I got speedfan but it can't find the fans. Yesterday I opened the laptop and cleaned the fan (it wasn't very dirty though). This really sucks, right after the steam sales...

Edit2: I am pretty sure it is because of the BIOS. I just tried to run the updater again and during the update the fans ran at full speed. But once it finished, the fans won't go full speed anymore.

    It's DDR3.
I have been looking for a fan controller before because I wanted to overclock higher but failed to find one. The fan certainly is behaving a bit strangely with the default fan controller, not always increasing the speed when it should. It's true that the BIOS updating utility sets the fan speed to max but that is merely a safety precaution since it's a critical step. Have you tried running applications that didn't overheat your laptop in the past?

Yeah, I have used many applications that don't overheat the laptop. But once I start using processor intensive applications, it starts to really heat up. I tried changing a few power management options, but it didn't really work. I also went on the lg website and looked for an older version of the bios to downgrade to, but I couldn't find it. Speedfan can't detect the fan, which indicates that they can't be controlled anywhere outside the BIOS and since the they can't be controlled in the BIOS, I don't think I can control it.

I am not sure what to do, but I am willing to try any ideas or suggestions out.

Does anyone know if there is a full panel display that can replace the current display on this laptop. I really hate the screen of the LG P330. It's like i am looking directly to pixels. I don't mind if the replacement does not have a camera. I just want a good display for my eyes.

The P330 uses a 40 pin connector, so if all the pins are active you could hook it up with a Full HD panel. Mounting it, on the other hand, wouldn't be as easy.

Nastylemon attempted to use a different display, the CPT CLAA133WA01. The P330's screen module is a LUCOM F2133WH4, the exact same display that you'll find in the HP Folio 13 and LG Z330. A review of the HP Folio 13's screen therefore also covers the other two.

LED is just the light source behind the screen, it doesn't have anything to do with TN or IPS etc.

Another question is if somebody knows that the crucial m4 msata SSD works with p330? I know that the 2.5 inch version dose work but is the msata working as well?

As Essin said, LED is just the type of illumination used. Samsung, for one, sold LED-backlit TVs before they were marketed as being "LED displays". There's also different ways of illuminating the panel using LED that you're better off being familiar with. LCD TVs that use LEDs as a light source are being marketed as a new breed of TVs and OLED doesn't sound much different, so it's easy to get confused.
There have been no reports of incompatible mSata SSDs yet, so you should be safe in assuming that it will work.

m4 256GB is the one i'm using. Is working ok after flashing the new bios. However, I don't get the speeds of SATA-3 but only SATA-2. See my post LG P330 vs P310 to see the benchmarks on my pc.

I hope LG to announce a laptop with IPS display soon, and be compatible with this laptop. I know that it will drain the battery quicker but i really don't bother

I'm using Version F12 which was posted here a few weeks ago.
    LG

The fans don't seem to go to max speed, causing the laptop to overheat and shutdown. I got a base with a couple of fans attached to keep it from getting too hot in summer and whenever I play games, I have to put a pedestal fan facing the laptop on max speed (it looks pretty funny).

Convel mentioned that there was some erratic behaviour from his fans too, but doesn't seem to be as bad as mine.

Giannos, do you use processor intensive applications (such as games)? I have flashed the BIOS twice in case there was some issues, but the fans still don't speed up to max.

Just wanted to confirm that a crucial m4 msata SSD (128gb) works great with the p330. Very happy know with my machine, 8 gb of ram and a ssd disk makes everything go in lightspeed :)

Have you seen the new LG Ultrabook Z360? It comes with an IPS display? Do you think that this display may fit on P330?
From this close up, it seems that is of a similar shape of what we have on P330.

Until we find the panel being used it's hard to know if it will fit or not. Despite the more rounded corners, I'd say this is the most promising candidate so far. The entire framing looks very similar to that of our P330s with the same hinge placement and webcam built into the screen module (Shuriken). You can have a closer look at the Z360's screen in the video below:

LG전자, 풀HD 고선명 울트라북 Z360 국내 출시

Once we find the panel being used in the Z360, we can compare the mounting by looking at the backsides of the two panels. For future reference, this is from the P330:

Mate I've been looking all over the internet to find some information about the model of the screen on z360 and i couldn't find anything. Do you have any news about this IPS display and if it can fit on p330?

I think our best bet to get any further with this is to wait for the Z360's display module to show up on Alibaba or LaptopScreen. After all, this is a new model and the existence of a laptop with the same name from both Samsung and Lenovo doesn't make searching any easier.

    Hi!
Maybe a silly question but have you tried to use the fn + F11 combination? I did not realize that i had put my fans to silent until a few week ago. After i did change my heat problem is much less of a problem.

No, the fans still don't go up to max speed when it gets hot. I got it up to 80 degrees and the fans just maintained their cruising speed.

    Thanks though.

Finally I found out the model of the panel display used in LG Z360. The screenshot below is taken from a korean review of the laptop
    ( http://www.notegear.com/Content/content_view.asp?spage=10&gotopage=1&TNum=1466&kind=2).
It seems that the display model's name is LP133WF6-SSA1. However I can't find a single result on Google search

Hot on the heels of the Z935 getting announced, I finally found a site that has the panel of the Z360 for sale. I sent them an email asking about international orders and will let you guys know more as soon as I get a reply. In the meantime, you can check out the photos of the panel on their website. It looks awfully similar to what we have in our P330s.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unless you know someone in Korea that could forward the panel for you, the outlook of acquiring one doesn't look too good. I was simply told to place my order using another listing for the same item that includes international shipping. That's a straightforward enough task in theory but the site doesn't appear to accept non-Korean shipping addresses. I sent a follow-up email 12 days ago where I explained this issue and asked if there was an alternative method that I could use to place my order but recieved no reply. If any of you are still interested in replacing the panel in your P330s and don't feel like giving up just yet, beware that you won't get any response unless you write to them in Korean.

Has anyone's stock network card failed on them? Mine no longer shows up in device manager. Even after re-seating the card and double checking the FN-wireless keyboard switch it still doesn't show up. I think I'm going to try and replace it.

EDIT: Yea it was dead. Bought a Intel 7260 and popped it in and it's fine now. Dunno how the other one just pooped out on me.

I enjoy LG P330 very much. I believe is the best laptop I've ever had... Only if that screen was different. There are sometimes that i want to smash it. A top quality laptop with a screen. I would definitely sacrifice laptop's battery life for a better screen. I just can't stand it how bad the images look...
