Just check the dealer list of LG Canada, PC Com
    is not on the list.

Look like they are selling grey product
WITHOUT warranty & lie to customer.
Price also look like it's a grey import.
If you want to save $200 & DON'T want 3 Yrs warranty,
go ahead to buy the grey product at PC Com.

    Hope this help.....!

    MysticGolem,

pacific notebooks, is not on the LG dealer list as well.

"Grey Product" in chinese mean "Water Goods 水貨 "
Which is not from official Distributor (Like LG Canada),
private import from other country maybe new or referb,
so no warranty from Local Support like LG Canada.

talon, are you saying then that since Sonaggi is not listed there either (I just checked) that they do not offer a warranty either?

posts around NBR seemed to imply the warranty is global too, so shouldn't it still be valid here?

MysticGolem, I just found the reseller search function here:

    http://ca.lge.com/en/Product/wherebuylist.do?categoryId=000000

warranty is global, but only if the product is
buy from an authorized dealer. If you are NOT buying
from an authorized dealer, Local Warranty is VOLD,
    global Warranty is VOLD too....!

Again, Pacificnotebook, Sonaggi, & PC Com are not
    authorized dealer, No Warranty.

NoteBook Outlet is authorized dealer at pacific mall & on
the Dealer list. My Fan work there, PM me if you need
    the contact.

Hm... I gotta go check that out, but I wouldn't be surprised if the warranty is valid at all the places.

BTW, I'd be careful of Notebook Outlet. Lots of horror stories about them.

Umm, Funny... I have no problem with Notebook Outlet.
And the link maybe just a very few special case.
I know Pacific mall have many grey product store.
But Notebook Outlet is for sure a Authorized Dealer of
many Brand name & is the only Dealer in pacific mall of
some brand & price is good if you are looking for
    Official product with warranty.

If you want to save few hundred & don't need warranty,
go to the store that can offer you about $150-200
cheaper. That's the real grey product price.
Don't buy from non dealer but save $50 only &
think you have a warranty because the
non dealer lie to you that grey product have warranty...!
    ;)

I don'tk now about those cases, but my own experience trying to help a friend get something fixed was definitely not good.

Basically, her laptop wasn't charging well - you had to wiggle the DC plug on her laptop around to get it working. So something there was loose. Simple repair right?

6 trips, 4 months and $150 later... no fix to the laptop, and the battery latch was now broken. So another friend and I went to Notebook Outlet with her the next time. There was a girl who basically 'guaranteed' that the laptop would be fixed, blah, blah, blah. Last I heard, it still was not fixed.

Definitely not recommended for any repairs. I guess new laptops might not have the same issue.

I'm going to check out the grey market issues though. I want to make sure I have warranty on my laptop. Will post back when I get a definite answer about the warranties. The laptop was definitely an English versino though, so I'm not sure where it could have been intended for (since they're not sold in the US).....

yah the hurricane i understand where you coming from...the weird thing is who is right.

But overall I personaly, won't ever buy anything from Pacific Mall...my friend told me not to..he's asian and he knows alot of this place, he says roughly 50% of stuff is black market...and im like really... i didn't know :(.

Stick with Canadsys!, they got low prices and TOP service... the Markham locations is litterly right around the corner from Pacific Mall.

Canadasys is trying to get the LG Models... according to LG I called them 1 week ago, they said several LG models will be available on the 15-20th... so its already the 18th and we got 2 more days.. hopefully on Monday all futureshops and other stores that are Official Dealers will have them and hopefuly some on display :D.

Lets literly wait like 1 week before we make mistakes.

    Thanks,

    MysticGolem

Actually pacific notbook is very trust worthy, and what i ment buy asian is casue they are asian dealersa lol, but they are very professional. And Warraty and support are alwaysd given. They are good. But still no one is telling to buy a prodcuts without having to ask questions befor eu buy.

I don't know if any of u are smart enoguh to ask the most important questyion before u buy stuff.

Final Works Pacific notebook is very trust wortthy

As for notebookoulet..they are **** they are outdated, most of there notebooks are old, slow with importing new models.

If you really want anothger turst worth place. www.canadacomputers.com they always very pro too and i know one of the sales people in there, and they are always trust worthy as well. And also warranty stuff is all good too.

For you case, I don't think it's Notebook Outlet Problem.
If your fan know how to take care her lappy, the
DC connection will not broke at the first place.

Normal people will not apply any force to the DC
plug area to broke it. If you know electronic, you should
know once the contact Pading is peeled away from the
main circuit board, there is no good way to fix it. Even
after fixed, you need to extra baby care it. But in her case,
she will just use it as before, she just don't know how to
    handle her lappy. LOL.

If her lappy have warranty, manufacture will replace
the main board. If it's out of warranty or she buy grey
product with no warranty, then she is just too cheap
not to replace the new main board and ask for alt. way
to fix. Even the original plug area can't stand for her
miss handle, for sure the Fix will not stand for her abuse!
    Broke --> Fixed --> abuse, broke --> Fixed --> abuse -->
Fixed --> abuse...... Turly your fan's Own problem.. She is
taking others advantage because the 2nd, 3rd fix are free.....!

Other member is right, Pacific Notebook sometimes have
newer model faster & Notebook Outlet's model is not as
new & fast. I also go PacNote to check the new Grey import
Model & ask questions. But I will never buy there because
most of Pacific Notebook carry are Grey product with no
warranty. I will wait until Canadian channel released.

Notebook Outlet is not as fast because they do not sell
any grey import. All their notebook are from Canadian
Channel, Canada is know for slow of Tech gadgets. I also
find that few people at Notebook Outlet are not that
knowledgeable. But there's also a cool guy which is
extremly knowledgeable with the products & other
new technologies. The picture will change if you find the
right person. Don't know if it's good to post his name
here. Try looking for ANDREW at Notebook Outlet only
if you need good advice & warranty product. But he is
quite busy with customer, you need to wait sometimes... LOL

Aiite, guys.. don't get too worked up about this stuff... just stay away from Pacific Notebook, and if you feel comfortable with Notebook Outlet then by all means go there I AM NOT VOUCHING FOR THEM!

I only Vouch for Canadasys, www.canadasys.com, use them, they've been running for roughly 7-8 hours, Excellent prices, and superb customer service, you can even see on, www.notebookforum.ca.

If they do not have the laptop you want.. Then check out the ASUS Brand if they still don't have what you want, look on this forum and have other help you find the notebook rite for you and where to buy it... this is the FORUM, we all help eachother to make eachother as a happy as possible with laptop decisions.

Currently Canadasys might be trying to become an official LG dealer, im not sure, they have not updated me regarding this yet :(

So lets jsut wait and see, and yes futureshop will be recieving these laptops and you can see them there and you even get a short return policy if you ever have to... Release on th 20th Hopefully

    Thanks,

    MysticGolem

Anyone know if the T1 uses a regular 2.5" Hard Drive? If so, is it user accessible? Looking at the pictures over at NoteGear, there doesn't seem to be a HD access cover on the bottom of the notebook.

Actually, if YOU know electronics, you would know that a power issue on a circuit board can easily be repaired. My friend with the laptop did Computer Engineering @ UT years ago, and I myself did Engineering Science. What are your credentials?

Its starting to sound like you work for Notebook Outlet. I wonder how you got the LG T1 before it came out...

Yes, power issue on a circuit board can easily be
repaired, But contact Pading is peeled away from the
main circuit board is another story Mr Engineering Science.

I have T1 before release is because the LG Manager
(East GTA) of Notebook Section is my fan. Like I said
before, T1 is quite Good, but I still perfer IBM & My Z60t
when I need to meet my Client.

I called LG Canada to check on my warranty status as well, and apparently it was valid, and they had no concerns with my purchasing the laptop at a store that wasn't on their list.
