Really weird, somehow, recentely, my screen started working properly again so my screen doesn't disconnect when I close the lid. And I didn't do anything. Possibly some Windows Update.

Hey, any of you play Halo for PC? I notice that when I talk to other people, I cannot see my own typing, just a grey box but with no letters. This only happens to my S1 Pro and not my desktop.

Does anyone know how I configure the Direct Media Button in Vista Ultimate to start the MediaPlayer instead of the MediaCenter?

Found out on my own how to disable the MediaCEnter and how to enable LG DMB service again...

Start >> Control Pannel >> Media direct , then just choose Media Plyer :)

After reading this thread regarding the drivers and compatibility I was hesitated to upgrade to Vista so what I did is installed a test dummy Vista on my S1 and found out the driver issue isn’t that bad. Basically before doing any thing go to LGe website and download ALL the driver they have for Vista for S1 laptops and put them on a CD or any other external device, then do a Full format by deleting all partitions and redistributing them as you prefer (for me it was 40GB C and the rest for D). After installing Vista just install the drivers you download them from LG sit, and that’s it,.,. everything is working ok even the finger print device …

This is not XP, there isn't a Media direct thing in the control panel, in both views.

Thanks to guillerone's link in the post, now all can close their laptop lids without a problem. Although this is not an official solution but it still works ;).

    1. Log in using the administrator account, only that account works.
    2. Start, type in Device Manager and press enter.
    3. Click on System Devices
    4. Double-click on ACPI Lid and go to the Driver tab.
    5. Click on Update Driver...
    6. Click on Browse computer for driver software.
    7. Click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
    8. Untick 'Show compatible drivers'.
    9. On the right-hand side list, scroll down and select 'Volume manager', sounds stupid but works.
    10. Once done selection, it should prompt you to restart your computer. Restart.
    11. Your lid should now work properly when opening/closing!
:D Hope this makes it easy.

it is not for me, i think.

I checked it last night to see if they released anything new for my laptop, and they didnt, but the download site looked fine to me...

anyway... when the hell are they planning to release an Update Manager (I even forgot its real name!)

Does anyone know why any Vista sidebar Gadget that shows your wireless connection status doesnt work? they all show it as disconnected, but windows says im connected. Probably is becouse I installed the Intel Wireless PRO crap driver appart from the inbuilt in windows

By the way, ATI released a new update for the graphics card.

Does anybody here use dual screen? Because when you use it, you get to choose the position of the two monitors, but every time I do something fullscreen, locking computer/screensaver or games, the position tends to reset and the screens don't match up again.
    Can anybody help me?

They released an update for this graphics card, ATI Mobility Radeon X1600.
lol, why would I post non-related ATI news.

But if you're saying if the update is useful, I think updates are always good, so I just go and install it.

Have you tried checking the checkbox to see all device, uncompatible device or something similar?

I have another technical issue
For the very first time, I brought my laptop to school. I started doing this, but recentely, my laptop have been turning on by itself several times and because of that I ended up with 0% battery left a few hours later. I have to do my powerpoint presentation on my teacher's laptop with only 128MB RAM :( . Any people have similar problem?
I think this is a very serious issue, no laptop I ever know will turn on by itself. Maybe because of some vibrations that caused it, but still it's not suppose to be like that.

it didn't start by itself, I guess your lock switch was not locked so one of those media bottuns got pressed while in your bag (assuming they are on the outside of your notebook).
