How long did your T60 take to ship

If it's pending that means they checked to make sure you have the available funds to pay for the laptop. They will only charge your card and take the money out when it ships.

 

ordered 4/20 estimated ship date 5/4

as of 4/25 held up for for reasons beyond UPS control in Ontario, CA.

That is not bad. At least you know that its on the way. But did you order preconfigured one or customized. and just to be clear is your screen 15" or 15.4" WSXGA+?

I've been following this thread since I ordered my t60p on april 16th. The order review said expected delivery on apr 30th. Then the "check order" screen says May 10th, and still "in process". Sorry to hear about all the problems, but glad to hear that the 15.4" screen bottleneck has been resolved.

Ordered t60 ws on 4/20 (thank you shareholder discount), Estimated ship date is 5/16. Hopefully they surprise me and send it earlier than that.

 

Ditto, I ordered mine on 4/19 with a ship date of 5/15. Cvec7 and a others have said that Lenovo has recently received a fresh order of WSXGA LCD's. Keeping fingers and toes crossed.

 

That's what our reps are telling us at least, lol. Mag's said they got them in eariler this week, and my rep said they got them in yesterday and today. Anyway, mine is supposed to go out Monday, MAYBE tomorrow, but likely Monday. If not, I'm calling back Monday.

Can anyone tell from the description/product numbers which companies manufactured the components (monitor, keyboard)?

 

Ordered on the 25th (yesterday) and my estimated ship date is the 21st of May. The estimate is in line with what you guys have been getting, so here's hoping we don't have any more delayed orders. ^^

Well, they were having delays on the 15.4" WSXGA+ screens. Their supply of WXGA screens was fine.

 

Guys, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the Sticky on the Lenovo forums. It will give you ALL the information you need to know as to looking up what brand keyboard and what brand LCD (as long as you have the WSXGA+ option) you have.

I'm going to call today to complain but... this is absolutely unacceptable

 

My delivery date is 5/10 and I'm seriously thinking of canceling and waiting for Santa Rosa. If I were you and they delayed me this long, I'd definitely give them a piece of my mind and cancel. I'm seriously thinking there will be some really cool new laptops with the release of Santa Rosa and I'm betting you'll be able to order them in June.

 

My T60 was enroute two days after the order was placed (4/26), but it is not scheduled for delivery until May 3. Certainly not complaining, and would definitely go ballastic if it took 45 days to get my order ... I would not only call to complain, but demand a discount or credit of some type for such pathetically bad service. Stillwater, my guess is that your state has something called the Consumer Sales Practices Act, which prohibits companies from engaging in unfair and/or deceptive trade practices ... might be worth mentioning in your telephone conversation with an IBM Customer Service manager.

Acaurora - No offense taken. I did read the sticky. I also tried the "parts/serial number" link without success, coming up with nothing ("no listing"). And I do not appear to have any of the keyboards identified in the "sticky" post itself ... So perhaps I am just in the remedial group here, but I could not locate the answer to the question ... which is why I asked the question on parts.

 

That's because the FAQ doesn't explain the "serial number" part of the parts look up.

After it ships... check the ORDER STATUS page.. near the top .. right when the parts listing begins.. you should see a new line that says something like "serial number" or "serial no."

THAT'S where your serial number is.. I didn't get mine through email or anything like that..

the product number would be the very first product number.. i'm not sure how to explain that part.. but it's the number that's NOT listed in the parts list... more like in the title row...

I think my laptop is stuck at UPS... even though it's currently in this stage and says "in transit" as status....

Just called in again, according to the rep they have the packing slip printed and it may ship anytime now....

 

You had me up until that part. Yes customer service with regard to having enough stock on hand to satisfy incoming sales orders are poor, but there isn't anything anyone can do because they did not take the persons money. If they charged the persons account and withdrew the money and they have no idea when the product is shipping then you would be correct, that would be illegal.

At this point the only thing anyone can do is call and complain like cvec7, Mag and a few others.

 

Rod ... agree, and there would be no harm/damages if the "consumer" has not paid for the product.

In my case, Lenovo put a "hold" for the amount of the purchase price (from my checking account), as soon as I placed the order ... then they ran it through upon shipment. But there is likely a "consumer transaction" under the CSPA as soon as the "hold" is placed.

 

Feel sorry for you man, I am waiting for my to be here on 5/18 but, with you reply a doubt that. Keep us in touch on your changes.

 

I've been a long time dell user but I decided to go back to my IBM roots (my first computer was an Aptiva) and purchase a Thinkpad T60. I placed my order on 4/25/07 with the specs shown below. Estimated ship date 5/21/07 . This thinkpad better be worth the wait. Anyone know any tips or suggestions that can help prod my order along, or for that matter anyone know of a good customer service rep that can actually explain to me what is holding my order up ?

Well, According to my rep, there's a ton of backorders for the WS they have to fufil first. Mine and mag's *should* be among the first to go out.

On a side note, I called and asked, "What can lenovo do to make this right?" And so my rep spoke to his manager, and the manager told me I could get something off the site for free up to $100, or 10% off my laptop, whichever was cheaper. The $100 option was cheaper, so I got the warranty extended and a targus wireless optical mouse.

 

I needed a new laptop ASAP and couldn't wait for a custom-made one to be built and shipped, so I decided to just get a pre-configured system (T60 15'4" WXGA) with the "buy today/ship today" option. Yes, more expensive, but the customer service rep said it would get to me within 4 days using 2 day shipping.

Yeah right.

Apparently they're low on inventory and the ship date keeps getting pushed back. Now they say it will be shipped in one week (9 days after I placed the order), which even if accurate would be too late for my needs.

I keep calling customer service for an update, and they tell me that they're trying to expedite the order but at this point I don't put much stock into what they say.

 

Cvec I ordered my T60 on 4/19 with a ship date of 5/15. From the impressions you have any idea if it sounds like i'll get it on time.

I'd think you might just get it in time..depends how backed up they are, and how many screens they have. Supply SHOULD NOT be a problem. (As in, there better not be a problem w/ the supply...)

ranoobu, Yeah, I could've, but I have no use for the car adapter. I already have a 400 watt inverter, and I'm never in the car for more than 30 mins anyway. Never go on road trips because in Alaska, there is no where to go, haha.

 

Wow your in Alaska? I'm just the opposite i'm on a Florida island 3 blocks from the beach.

Haha, yeah. Moved up here in August. I was born in Miami, so I'm in the exact opposite place from where I was born. The snow here just melted like last week...all 80" of it...

Yeah, I can't imagine supply being a problem really, esepecially since the T61 will be eventually be introduced in the 15.4" WSXGA+...

Ha, not really. Never been much into sports. The closest thing to sports I keep tabs on is off-road racing... WRC, Dakar, Baja, SCORE, CORR, ect...

 

Well, I called today and asked for Jonathan (the guy cvec recommended). He wasn't there, but I left a message, and he called back later. Supposedly he placed a few calls and got the parts needed for my laptop, and it should ship on monday! I hope that will actually happen... if not, I'm definitely going to try to get a discount on it or something. I really want a ThinkPad, because I think they're the best laptops out there and I rather detest most other brands, so I'm willing to wait a little bit... just not two months.

not yet, it is really annoying. I called in today and unfortunately got a bad rep, she told me that it will ship early next week. I asked her if she can confirm that it is indeed going to ship, since I have been hearing it for so long. The reply was- "there is no guarantee". Perhaps this is the first and the last time I am dealing with Lenovo, anyways with even the IBM name gone from the laptop starting from T61, there is really nothing that interests me in thinkpads anymore......

 

Yeah, I know what you mean. I called up one time, and asked them to confirm it for me. Of course the ass just looked at the screen and was like, "Well, uh, it says here it's scheduled to ship out by the 1st.." Another time I called, and immediately asked the rep to transfer me to Johnathan. (the extremely helpful guy I've been dealing with; ext # 32992) He was busy, so the rep asked me if he could help me with anything, so I asked him to call supply and confirm a date for me. No dice, he wouldn't budge. So I got through to Johnathan, and of course he called supply for me.

I highly recommend next time just calling 1-866-248-4465, optn. 4, ext. # 32992 to talk to Johnathan. He's a A++++++++ guy. That's what I always do, and it's to the point now where I can just call him, and be like, "Hey, it's nick.." and he knows and remembers who I am, haha. Once I finally get my thinkpad, I most certainly plan to call up lenovo, ask to speak to a manager immediately, then put in a really good word for Johnathan. Not sure if it will help him out much with the upcoming lay-offs though...

Yeah, after this, I am certainly not pleased with lenovo. Not sure whether my laptop after this will be a lenovo or not...depends if the quality is still there a few years from now...

I can afford to be a little more patient then others. My T60 has a ship date of May 15th. If it gets delayed further it will give me the option of looking at the Santa Rosa Thinkpads. Also it might buy me a little extra time just in case Lenovo decides to slash prices even further. If they do or the T70's are resonably priced I may cancel my order. Any delays could work to my advantage.

 

You right man, my suppose to be shipped on May 18, I agree with you on that. It gives us some time to think about options, and who knows if may be Satna Rosa will be a good option at that time. From other hand I can wait a bit, I still using my old laptop which runs good enough for other month or two.

Well see, the thing is, I ordered my T60 because I knew I'd need a laptop, and that my current one wouldn't last long. It called it quits on Monday... Which is why I'm mad it's taken this long... I ordered a new one because I needed a new one the day I ordered it...

 

You have every right to be upset then. Fortunately my Dell laptop will last awhile as long as I don't open and close the lid repeatedly. The hinges are cracked and Dell no longer sells the part (4 yr old lappy). That's where super glue came to the rescue.

I hope your Thinkpad gets shipped out next week.

 

Just to let you guys know, I ordered my WS T60 about 4 days ago and it shipped this morning

 

I'm in the same boat as you. My old laptop is slowly dying and I really need a new one. If this one keeps going for another month or two, then Santa Rosa might be an option. Hopefully Lenovo gets on the ball here, and I won't have to resort to that.

I assume you ordered just the WXGA screen, or it was a pre-configured model... If it was a CTO with the WSXGA+ screen, I will kill you.

When I ordered my T60, it seems that ATI X1400 is bound with WSXGA+. So it seems that superpig did not have ATI X1400 in config either?

 

Thats only if you get the 14.1" model.

 

RefinedPower is right. The one I just ordered is WXGA with the X1400. It was cheaper than same config with 14" screen.

 

My laptop shipped today! I'm so happy! :-D cvec is right - Jonathan is an awesome customer service rep; definitely ask for him if you're having problems. I only hope my laptop will get here by the end of the week! (standard UPS shipping, so you never know).
