Mine took 23 days from the time I ordered it until the time I powered it up for the first time.
-
I called today and they stated that i have a "guaranteed ship date of tomorrow which is 4/10"
order date - 3/22
estimated ship date - 4/10
Come home to daddy (LG screen) ! -
well sorry guys it was nice meeting you all. My guaranteed ship date of 4/10 seems to have moved to 4/27 according to their website. I'm outta here. I don't trust a company that takes over a month to ship a laptop. apple.com (click) macbook pro (click) checkout (click).
-
Unbelievable! Ordered 4/2, shipped 4/7 from Hong Kong, delivery scheduled 4/10 in CA. And this for a custom configured 15" Flexview T60. Congratulations Lenovo!
-
Wow, if that same BS happens to me on Thursday, I may just have to join you. Albeit, I'm going to see if I can't get it shipped sooner by talking to them on the phone, since a thinkpad is, and has always been my dream notebook.... -
Well, I got off the phone with lenovo, and the rep contacted the supply dept. and said that my ship date will get pushed back to the 19th. Not as bad as the 27th, but still a ways away. So I'm currently debating whether or not to cancel my order...
-
Mine was delivered this morning at 10:00 am. That's 8 days and 2 hours for ordering! All I can say is that I think I'm in love.
-
cvec7, did you use the employee48hour coupon code on your order? I got a great deal on the laptop and it seems they want me to cancel. That is the only uncommon denominator, maybe? It makes no sense that these other people are getting theirs? I called and harassed customer service all day !
-
What wireless cards do you guys have? I read on a fatwallet forum that those with the Thinkpad A/B/G/N wifi (as opposed to intel) are all suffering delays....
-
3945 Intel , customer support actually told me vista premium is holding it up?
-
Haha, looks like we all have different stories. I did use the employee48hour code, and I do have the ABGN card, but their reps keep saying it's the screen holding it up... Tomorrow, I'm going to call them again, see if I can't at least get them to pay the extra for a saturday delivery, and see if I can't get them to throw in some other goodies for me... Otherwise, I'm likely to cancel and order a HP nc8430...
But if the rep this time tells me with certainty that it's the ABGN card, I'm going to tell him to change it to the 3945 intel...
The way I see it, there's nothing wrong with seeing if I can't get some free stuff. After all, this has extended past my 'guaranteed' ship date, and will be about a month after I ordered it. And I needed a new laptop a month ago!! -
Do some research before you take the Intel card vs the IBM card. I just got a T60 with the Intel card and am only getting 56K connects on both wireless and hard wired. When I plug in my D-Link Airplus card to the T60 it gets 100K. Haven't figured it out yet.

Well, I called them today to cancel the order and order a HP nc8430 through buy.com. But in doing that, I had to place the order on two separate credit cards which they would not do.
So I called lenovo back to re-instate the order and swap my wifi card out to the 3945 intel. Jonathan (the rep I've been speaking to) also put a rush on the laptop I believe, and is going to call me if the status changes.
I plan to call him again tomorrow, and have him place a call to supply to verify what was/is holding up my system. When I called today, supply had already gone home for the day. (4-hr. time diff. between EST and AST is not fun by the way...)
Mag_74, what card did you order yours with? Better yet, post up your "build" list or whatever, so that we can compare. Also, do you remember the name of the rep you spoke to?

Above is the config. I ordered. I dont remember the name of the rep though. Perhaps I will also look at some other options. -
Ok, so it looks like it is possible that it's the ABGN card, or perhaps the screen. Even though the number on your screen is different than mine.
On a side note: what's the max speed of the 802.11n card on the thinkpads?
Also, besides soarcw1, who (if anyone) else ordered a T60 8743 CTO with the WSXGA+ screen AFTER 3/24 and had it shipped already?? -
I ordered a T60 widescreen with the 256MB Fire GL today. The ordering system didn't give me the option to go with the Intel card - I could only choose the ABGN.
My screen is: 42T6598 SBB 15.4 W SXGA+/ TFT, and my estimated ship date is 4/30. -
-
I ordered a T60p, T7200, 2GB Ram (2 Dimms), ABGN card, 100GB HDD (7200rpm), using the employee48hour code.
Order date: 3/23
Original shipping estimate: 4/11
Actual ship date: 4/6
Delivered: 4/11 -

15.4" WS WSXGA+ screen by LG (13N7019)
a/b/g/n adapter (42T0825) -
Well, I had johnathan place a call to the supply dept. for me and verify what was holding the system up. It was in fact the screen, but he went ahead and put my laptop on a priority list for me, which is something they rarely do. So hopefully I'll be getting my T60 soon...
-
If you order a dock with your laptop, does the dock ship ahead of time? I only ordered my T60 and mini dock yesterday, but I just received an email saying that "All or part of your order has shipped." My order webpage hasn't updated yet, so I can't tell what they're shipping me.
Edit: yup, it's the dock. -
-
Wow I called yesterday and they told me my laptop would be shipped today, and
then today comes and the estimated shipping date is changed from 4/18 to 5/09 without even a notification email. -
Early last week I called, and they said my confirmed ship date would be 4/19... I called today, and my "confirmed" ship date is no longer confirmed. I was also not able to get an answer on when it would ship...
I'm extremely frustrated since I need a new laptop now, and can't get it. I would just cancel my order and buy a T60 WS through a reseller, but I won't be able to get close to the same price I did from lenovo.. -
That's the situation I'm in too. They said they ran out of the actual case housing for the laptop...
-
What? What model did you order?
The rep I've been talking to has been extremely helpful and has placed several calls to the supply department to see what's holding it up, and it's still the WSXGA+ screen... -
I ordered the 4:3 14.1 inch T60, I called today and they said that they were out of the laptop housing, or the case/body. I guess their out of a lot of parts.
-
I ordered mine on 04/13 and I'm just wondering whether that ship date will be realistic based on all the delays people are running into.
I may wait until the first part of May and call to confirm that it will be completed and shipped on-time, and if not, cancel and wait for Santa Rosa.

Wow, this is ridiculous on all the stuff they're running out of...
jjfcpa, I don't think you can tell on the exact components until once the unit has shipped and you have your serial number. -
I ordered one as well, on 04/16 and estimated ship date is 5/10

T60P
Ordered: 4/17/07
Est ship: 5/11/07
I made up a New ThinPad Advertising on TV: "We build Thinkpad in Ferrari standard...Every transistor is handcrafted, and every CPU is hand welded, tuned and tested by top level Executive to guarantee every Thinkpad is a soon to be formula one experience that you are WAITING FOR....EVER"
Seems like Lenovo taking so long that by the time I have my T60P, Intel will have the next platform "Penryn" released.
Since I'm not a hardcore Thinkpad fan and there're many sweet duels out there.......Remember what your GrandPa said "Son, don't give up the whole forest for one tree.."
Sager NP5760...... you be my new found love. -

With Santa Rosa being released on May 9th, which is my shipping date, I'm thinking more and more about canceling my order. There are some really cool features in Santa Rosa and why should I buy old technology?
I saw on the front page that Fujitsu has already announced 3 new Santa Rosa based laptops. I expect Dell to refresh their Lattitude line when they upgrade to Santa Rosa.
I'm leaning towards Lenovo because I've already got a dock, but then I've already got a dock for a Lattitude too. And with my Macbook Pro, I don't even need a dock... the sweetest setup of all. -
I guess I'm not the only one planning to cancel the order. 3~4 weeks process time is off the chart, the worst wait time in the entire laptop industry.
Lenovo is really testing their customer's patient. -
All you guys that ordered this week really shouldn't be complaining. I am, because I ordered mine 3/24...almost a month ago. And it very well could happen that they get in a shipment of LCD's in next week and have enough to build yours and mine.
They always overstate the estimated ship date so that they rarely have to push it back. Like mine did. -
I would like to point out though, LCD and computer components are a BIG thing in China, same place where ThinkPad is being build. I don't believe the "supply shortage" excuse and I certainly disagree customers should suffer for their mis-management/planning.
That also explained why Thinkpad is losing their market share:
http://www.hereshow.ca/news_detail.asp?nid=383
And their Stock $ is slipping:
http://stocks.us.reuters.com/stocks/overview.asp?symbol=0992.HK
And you are right, I shouldnt complaint. In fact Im making $ out of this. -
i ordered my T60 last christmas. it took about 20 days due to large no. of people buying.
-
If Lenovo had some decent models in the channel, then the CTO option would be less used, but as it stands, you can't find what you want at CDW or PcConnection.
Santa Rosa may be too significant to buy a laptop so close to its release without it. I expect to see Apple and Dell come out with immediate upgrades to their product lines as soon as Santa Rose is announced, or within a very short time. By waiting just 30 days, you could be using the state of the art in laptop technology without paying a penny more.
It's only if you HAVE to HAVE a Thinkpad that you will probably have to wait 60 - 90 days for Santa Rosa. Lenovo seems to be a little slow at getting new technology into their products; however, I was quite surprised that they offered the 802.11n option on the T60p CTO. This is my primary reason for ordering it because I use a new Airport Extreme at the office and do everything wirelessly. Hence, no docking station needed with my Macbook Pro. -
-
I think there're alot of Thinkpad choices out there. But every little different config changes the $ quite a bit, that's makes it itchy to pick a perfect one.
But like most of the Thinkpad buyer now, Im just catching the wave of discount. The T61 with the similar config that I have now, will be easily over $2000, just like when the T60 first out. Not to mention that if I want a T61 thats notability fast then a T60, my budget may need to increase 1.5x or 2x more.
Need it now, Buy it now its the golden rule. -
T60 might be cheaper at that point tho... and it might be available in widescreen for those who prefer it as well
-
http://www.trustedreviews.com/notebooks/review/2007/04/17/Intel-Santa-Rosa-Revealed/p1 -
Truthfully Santa Rosa would be a waste for me. Unless I can buy a T61 for the insane discount I received ($633 off retail) I think i'll stick with my current T60 order. -
Just an FYI even though i didn't order the t60...
Ordered the z61t yesterday... shipping estimate is 5/10..
I wish it was at least confirmed...
Looks like i won't be getting my laptop for my trip on 5/11 if it's shipped that day.. .. bah.. it would have been a good test drive...
How long did your T60 take to ship
