Has anyone receved their T61 yet?

Looks like I'll be on the phone again all day today. I'm going to send both Lenovo and IBM a complaint letter. IBM is putting their name on this and as far I'm concerned share responsibility.

Probably has to do with the glitch in their system. Mine changed by equal amounts as many have that do not get pushed to august.

 

Mine was 6/11 and was pushed to August 2nd too... My Rep is going to get an ear full for playing stupid with me and I will threaten canceling both systems I have under his name unless I get some answers ASAP. (I ordered a 2nd system under SPP just in case Meyers EPP didn't get shipped)

 

that's a little malicious and overly manipulative on the customer's part, we would sink as low as lenovo. if all of the customers did that, no company will offer the generous return policies that they have now.

Tim Supples will soon post the result of their work over the weekend to fix the glitches, maybe you should just wait until then to make a decision whether you should part ways with lenovo or not.

 

Just got off the phone with a CSR. The 8/2 on mine is apparently a glitch and he quoted me as June 26th at the latest. I dont understand how these "glitches" have been going on for so long.

 

the first time i called them on 6/5 with my estimated date of 8/29, i was told 6/12-6/15 it would ship. i then canceled my order. but it came anyways. i guess it was too late. the 2nd T61 that i ordered (from lenovo) came yesterday. The other one I ordered on buy.com I have been using came last week(6/7). I called them yesterday and am working on getting this lenovo.com one returned to them.

 

Isn't it funny how you end up with 3 T61 and a lot of us are still waiting to get at least one...

 

Don't you understand that this is all BS. There is no correct estimated time as to when your computer is going to get out. On lenovoblogs, tim supples says it himself. The problem will be fixed when they figure out how to rebook all these screwed up orders. When that will happen and when your order will ship is totally up in the air. But I'm pretty sure that the june 26th date you got really means nothing.

 

That doesn't explain how people are getting theirs.

 

They are getting them because lenovo management is incompetent. Over a simple bezel thousands of orders have been rejected and lenovo is having problems re-booking them. Seems lenovo needs a new business model for their company, every part is so disconnected

I finally spoke to my rep this morning and he said that the new ship date of 8/02 was wrong (ya think!) and proceeded to tell me that the computer would ship out no later than 6/26 and maybe sooner. With 4-5 days of shipping time, that put my order out ANOTHER 3 weeks. I said this was unacceptable as I had placed another order (SPP + Coupon code) through this same rep on 6/7 with a ship date of 6/26 also.

When I asked him what the problem was, he said it had to do with the displays. I told him I was on the verge of cancelling and very frustrated and he said he would send emails to the warehouse to put both my systems on the "Critical Orders" list in order to expedite my orders if possible. So my question to all of you is, is this a load of BS or is there actually a "Critical Orders" list? Has anyone been been told this supposed info yet?

I'm really frustrated, but I know the minute I cancel Lenovo will start shipping these things out by the bus load.

 

I'm supposed to get mine Thursday (according to tracking). The canceled one from earlier is still in their system though I've written several times to tell them not to send that one (said they could not do a price match if I could not dup the specs and they changed configs so I canceled and got a less expensive machine with xp and no videocard).

I'll post if I get it.

 

Critical List is no bs.

When I worked at Mr. Gatti's and customers threatened to cxl late orders, we put them on the "critical list".

 

They got their computers BECAUSE the company is incompetent.

They can price drop all they want without having to retro price match as long as they keep mixing up required combinations.

I was wondering why in the world "Adding Bluetooth is required to select WXGA+"... now it all makes sense.

Moral of the story: make sure you are happy with what you are getting for what you are paying for now. Technology always drops. So long as quality hasn't dropped too much this generation, I am happy with the current discoutns.

Came a day early! Initial thrill kinda wore thin when I had to do a complete recovery as it cycled endlessly between starting and shutting down. Seems to be working at the moment though. I'll see what happens.

But I do like it. Will be trying to get used to the keyboard in the next days.

Dont worry about the darn Estimated Dates...mine says 6/27 but ended up shipping today (6/13). It is just whenever really for when it ships...estimated dates mean nothing right now.

No, I had the X3100 and Vista Home Premium.

 

Yes. I did. It came with the Quadro and Home Premium. I just returned it yesterday also. Lenovo should get it back today. Hopefully I will get a refund shortly too.

 

Leon2245, yes, they seem to change the options so you can't get an identical comparison. I went back to the site and they have XP Professional back up as an option on the T61 with graphics card. Darn frustrating. I do have an identical price comparison on the machine I finally ordered done I think on the 29th. Will see if the 4th of July sale is any better.

Can't believe you didn't get bluetooth... such a hassle to add it later.
