are these people joking???? it's going to start getting real ugly if all these people who ordered weeks after me are getting their computers shipped out before me!

 

I got an email today asking me to take a survey about my experience with lenovo. It seemed to imply that the order had shipped but according to the order status it has not.

 

I think people who ordered core 2 duo processor T7700 got delayed and people who have ordered T7300 are now shippping! may be there is a shortage of T7700 processor! including T7500! as we haven't seen them shipping! unless some has already received those configuration!

 

i got an email for the on survey 5/26 (i ordered 5/9) and i got the T7300 and mine has yet to be shipped

The next day or two, the 15.4'' came out so I call on 6/1 to cancel this order. CSR said it takes 24hrs to cancel it will be canceled on Monday. Monday comes and it isn't canceled. Deceided to give Lenovo Tuesday to cancel it since we all know they aren't too good with giving out firm dates, but it wasn't. Call early Wednesday (6/6) morning, CSR wasn't sure why it wasn't canceled, said he was escalate it. So low and behold, around 8:30 that night, I get an email telling me it was shipped.

So maybe the secret is to call and cancel so they'll build it quick

 

haha that's quite a gamble though. either they'll build it quick, or you'll lose your place in line...

only two shipped cases in this thread. And both are CTO model with integrated intel. It seems to me that Nvidia chipet caused the delay, and this make me more confused why lenovo switch from Ati to Nvidia at the beginning. They never had problem with Ati. Nvidia not only have compatibility problems (64bit vista) but also the supply shortage.

 

did you not see my specs? Mine shipped with Nvidia card. I should get it on tuesday and hopefully return it on thursday or friday of next week. sigh. Oh I'm playing with the one I got from buy.com now too.

 

I have to tell you, the cancel thing worked for me without even trying. I ordered on Sunday 6/3 and cancelled on Tuesday 6/5. Well, last night they shipped the thing from China!!

Lenovo did redirect it so I would not receive it, but I changed my mind (since it actually shipped) and they were able to cancel the redirect. Short version is - I should receive it next week after cancelling it

Now, what do I do with the MacBook Pro I bought instead????

 

Kind of funny reading these stories of cancelling and the notebook shipping soon after.

 

My x60s' expected delivery date is 22nd of June, I hope it doesn't get changed to any later since I'll be traveling on the 28th for a couple of days and again on the 12th of July.

 

strange enough, here in france T61 is fully available in configuration with NVS140M / 14.1 WXG1 / T7300, got mine a week ago and full stock at suppliers.

Mine has and always had an Estimated ship date for today (6/11) and it's still reporting that via the order status online... will call my rep to get a more detailed update and post back soon!

 

mine was set to ship today and has been pushed back to August 2nd. don't know if it's gonna ship earlier or what. i havent gotten an email either.

I went with integrated graphics, 14.1 with webcam (the upper level resolution, WXGA+?)

 

Mine is the 2.2Ghz, 1GB (1 Dimm), 100GB 7200rpm, Intel Turbo Memory, NVIDIA Graphics, Vista Home Basic, DVD+-RW, 14.1" WXGA+ (1440x900), with a webcam.

Still trying to contact my rep for an update... Im hoping he will have a little more insight, although according to these boards that will probably be asking way too much. LOL

 

Let us know what the rep says...maybe something has change this week.

 

my order was similar to HKINGS, except I ordered Vista Ultimate, no webcam.

Supposed to ship today, and still no update to the website, my original ship date was 6/5.

 

I just spoke to my rep and he said that as far as he can tell, the system is still set to ship out today. He said there was nothing on my order or system showing any delays. I'll take it with a grain of salt until it really ships.

However if mine will be delayed, I am curious as to why my shipping date wasn't automatically changed to a future date at Midnight, or shortly there after this morning?

I guess only time will tell. Maybe it will get updated tonight once it's no longer 6/11. Any thoughts?

 

The girl I talked just told me she doubted it would ship today, that she hadn't seen very many ship, yet at the same time she thought it was just demand and not a part problem (How does that work? High demand but none have shipped?) and that it would probably delay until June 26th-ish.

 

Bummer... It's sad that every Lenovo rep seems to give a different story. I know don't know who to believe (although it seems a delay is inevtiable) but you would think that at least if they were going to come up with a BS story they would at least keep it to one and be consistent about it.

Why? 6/7 would have been his true estimate had it not sad 8/30 and no delays occured.

 

No way...I ordered mine on May 13th and it isn't shipping until June 19th (at least that's what it says). No way if he ordered a week later he received his already.

 

Hmmm! this is big BS! I have ordered mine on 5/18 and still it shows "In Process"! What did you do? What kind of laptop is this? Are you sure its definately T61?

 

I think we should all order dell and not cancel lenovo’s order. If dell becomes proactive and announces to match lenovo's EPP discount and 25% (memorial day sale price, and match lenovo's price), they will get many many orders and it will be a big loss for lenovo. We’ll keep whichever comes first but, and return another. if dell comes first (which is more likely) and wait for T61 to arrive, Once we get our T61, call customer service within 21 days to get RMA number to return the laptop. We can T61 return it and let lenovo suffer a big loss! If everyone does! that will teach a lesson to lenono not to jerk customers around. if we get T61 first we can just cancel DELL's order without them shipping to us.

What do you think guys? I'll keep watching dell's website for special offers!!!!!

Y'know what this whole Lenovo thing reminds me of? I was once at this Italian restaurant, and y'know, it was one of those multi-table affairs where a mob of us descended on the poor restaurant. Basically, everyone in the restaurant was at least somewhat familiar with the rest.

Well anyway, they had like 2 waiters and 40 tables. Just ordering food took like an hour, and then we waited... and waited... Finally one guy gets his food. Everyone's like "What did he order!" - and meanwhile everyone's making the usual jokes about how the cooks had to go hunting for the food first, had to grow the wheat or whatever bread is made out of these days, etc.

The food did come eventually, after like 2-3 hours. It was awful.

There's no real punchline, but the similarities are amazing: mob of hungry people in a restaurant waiting for food, and a mob of laptop-buyers on a forum waiting for their orders to ship. Brings back memories...

The estimated dates really dont mean much, just a set number of days out from your order and once it is reached it resets and does the same number of days again.

 

Ummmmm.....no it doesn't. The difference between 5/24 and 6/11 is NOT the same as the difference between 6/11 and AUGUST 2ND.

 

Got it at 2am. This is BS, if hte email says 1-30 days, then 8/2 shouldn't be in te system.

 

Anyone else think the lack of info is to avoid badpress? Anyone order with the shareholder discount? I wonder if I need to buy stock to get my damn computer.

 

At this rate, you are better off shorting the stock and use the money you earn to buy another notebook. This ordering system is ridiculous. I think the long term negative effect of downplaying the problem is much worse. It sucks that a company like Lenovo chooses not to recognize the problematic situation at hand.

 

yep, same email. Except mine was delayed from yesterday until 6/28, so I am a little luckier I guess.
