Ordered from xcaliburpc as they were the only ones with stock in the US I saw. Hope to have this on Wed. Can't wait to check it out. Thanks to all on this site for your help in research on this purchase.

I ordered from Gentech on Thursday (shipped Friday). Even though their site said "Preorder" they actually had them in stock. They just didn't have a large inventory, so they didn't want to get people's hopes up. Call Ken before you order to check stock.

:( . I'm a lil sad, but Gentech never replied to my sales inquiry I sent them last week so I started to think I'd order elsewhere. They were the first place I looked based on this site and their site (liked the layout). Then I checked exotic, and then excalibur. Excalibur says 1 in stock and their EBay site says more than 10. If I find a problem tomorrow I'll cancel and call Gentech, perhaps their phone customer service is better.

Maybe I'm just Amazon spoiled. :)

    Thanks for the reply.

    Can someone clear this up?

Also, IBuyPower is selling this laptop for quite a bit cheaper than any other place I've seen, including xotic. They are currently offering it for 1599 with a free mouse included. However I believe they do not include the 128 GB msata. Anyone have any experience with them?

I can't clear up the IPS screen discrepancy, but as for the ibuypower, they're reputable. If you put in the 128GB msata drive, plus the 1 TB drive, and put the blu ray burner back in it comes out to roughly the same price as everywhere else. Nice they let you customize all that if you want. You do get the free mouse, which is nice that you get something for "free".

Only bad part about ibuypower is their lack of mSATA options compared to XoticPC and GentechPC, you're limited to 2 x 256GB mSATA drives.Price is very comparable though.

Ibuypower gives you a basically 70 dollar value with that mouse and that mousepad, not to mention that it's a weighted gaming mouse, so I don't know; if you value that kind of thing it's okay, I considered the Ibuypower deal HARD cause I mean it comes up to the same thing when you add the external SSD. but, Gentech has free IC Diamond Thermal pasting (0.01c) and they check the build since right now I'm currently freaking the heck out about heating issues..(most likely because my HP-G62 got wiped out due to heating issues)

I plan to put my own paste on. This won't be my first time doing such a thing. I'll take temps with a thin coat and thick coat. When I built my PCs in the past I used to sand my heatsink with crazy high grit on a diamond stone (flat) and then apply the paste with a razer blade on the cpu and the heatsink. Have to pull out my kit. (Water and phase cooled custom PCs in a past life).

I have P35G, does not feel plastic to me, especially compared to Sony SVS15. Very solid build. The coating is a fingerprint magnet though due to being very smooth.

I just opened mine up. The bottom is plastic for sure. The lid seems to be aluminum or aluminum over plastic. Even with the bottom being plastic, the machine is nice and solid, and it seems to have a metal internal frame. No build quality complaints here.

Just ordered mine off of GenTechPC. Hopefully this laptop will last me through my 4 upcoming college years, because a lot was invested in this. If a 5 year old Toshiba Satellite with overheating problems and bad reviews still works well for me, then this should be a piece of cake.

Here in Germany it is very hard to get to this laptop, but i think XMG sold the barebone version. It was released 2 days ago under the name XMG C504, check it out if you want. XMG lets you customize the laptop (maybe similar to ibuypower? i don't know, i'm not really familiar with ibuypower).
My question is what would you rather choose? (GTX870m + 8gb of ram -> 1502 euros) or (GTX860m + 16gb of ram -> 1457 euros)? what do you think, performance wise, would be better? I am planning to use this laptop for many years. In the long run i may upgrade the ram, but for now even 1500 euros is really really pushing it to the limit. I can't go higher than that.

870M is 20% to 30% more powerful than the 860M, personally I always go for the better GPU.

For all the owners can you answer a few questions since I'm looking to get his model over the MSI GE60 Ghost Pro and seeing if this will be the laptop for my friends daughter who starts college in Sept.

    1. Whats the difference between the P35W v2 CF1 vs CF2 models? I seen some online stores with both models and the specs seem the same but wondering if there's a difference.

    http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-P-P3...B00JPCJP3C/ref=psdc1_t2_B00JPCJNTS_B00JPCJP3C

    But Adorama has these

    http://www.adorama.com/GIP35WV21.html

    http://www.adorama.com/GIP35WV22.html

On those the difference is 8GB/128gb vs 16gb/256gb (128x2)

    2. How easy is it to change RAM & mSATA drives?

    3. How is heat, I seen a few reviews but what about others?

    4. How is fan noise?

Does Fan Tweak - Auto mode do anything? On my system the fans never spin up to max when I set it to auto mode, even when the CPU and GPU get to 90c and the area above the keyboard gets too hot to touch.

So have anyone tried undervolting the CPU and/or GPU? The MSI GS60 got some benefits out of that. Problem is that they are using a custom VBIOS to achieve GPU undervolting, which probably requires someone of knowledge to develop it.

I'm sure there are some good tutorials on this board, flashing is kind of scary, but undervolting's almost risk free in comparison to doing something like overclocking.

Here's an oldie but goodie. http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...arket-upgrades/235824-undervolting-guide.html

Ok so i got a chance to test it with normal use and it lasted more than 4 hours with normal web browsing with 50% brightness and the battery had 32% left. I had no time to keep testing but that's average so it should go up to 6 hours or more with same use. I'll test gaming Tomorow and see how much is that

Here are some temperatures of the P35K recorded by GenTech after a run of 3DMark.
    2a2686edc1.jpg

Hopefully the temperatures of this model will be on par, if not better, although I would expect the GPU temperature to be quite a bit hotter (870M vs. 765M).

Im thinking of getting this or the GS60 Ghost Pro (Non 3K). Are there any large differences between then such as disadvantage or advantages? I know the P35W has a DVD drive that could also be used for extra HDD.

My primary worry are temperatures, screen, and also the Wifi. The Wifi on the GS60 seems to have a problem, would the P35W also have a problem if I upgrade to the 7260, or is that a problem only on MSI laptops. Im guessing temps would be similar. Im just hoping the screen is better as the glare on the GS60 seems to be fairly bad in bright areas.

Build quality is good. Aluminium top and plastic bottom. Feels solid.
Only possible downsides would be noise since temps are ok (read the posts of the thread).
I am only waiting for WhiteBoy to tell us more about battery time under load,
and noise in dB under load and normal use.
