What I gathered is that they have updated the body and fans....etc to better handle temps in the V3.

I am like you, 870M is more than enough for me, and I am waiting for the prices for the V2 to get even lower as the V3 shipments start.

Keep us posted with what you come up.

I don't think they fixed the body. I saw a chassis in gigabyte's service centre a couple of days ago and it was exactly the same of v2. Fan were fine in v2, noisy only at max option. I'm sure the heatsinks will be the same, as is the same "supracooling" which doesn't cool almost nothing.

A rep from Gygabyte has stated that the cooling system had received some improvements, and that the chassis had been strenghened.

I have a question for the p35 owners.

Could you please tell me the exact weight of your laptop without the ODD ? Do you have one or two SSDs ?
Gigabyte is claiming 2,16 kg which seems wrong regarding the many different reviews on internet.

    Hi guys,

My webcam doesn't work anymore. It has vanished.... I can't find it anymore in the device manager and when I start Skype or AmCap, it just I don't have a webcam...

I can't really tell if it is because of the bios updated (FA0A) I did last week but is any of you having the same issue?

What it the model of the webcam? Where should I find driver for it?

Oh and btw, just checking this thread again and discovering about the P35W V3, it feel like MSI is send a huge F*** you to the P35W V2 owners! I mean better GPU, better body and better coolling system just few months after this one, it really disapoint me.

I just solved the problem with the screen bleeding in my P35W V2! I changed this horrible screen to a higher quality!
Samsung 156HL01-102 PLS - awesome screen from my MSI GS60 , it does not have any bleedings, and it has the best contrast and color gamut! it is fully compatible with P35W(K) and has the best performance I've seen on the 6-bit displays 20141024_190743.jpg

Wait for it. The 870m is a really hot GPU. The 970m is cooler and these have been proven by the various video reviews of MSI GS60's side-by-side comparison of the same laptop but with 970m and 870m on each side. I'm pretty sure it will be the same for P35.

If you don't need the video performance, go for the P35W v3 with 970m. Don't go for the P35X with 980m as it usually 300 dollars more expensive in the various sites that have them in pre-order listing. The 970m has surpassed last generation's flagship 880m in terms of performance so it should be plenty strong enough.

    Do all of them! Haha.

But seriously tho, im interested in the p35x v3 with the gtx 980m, which should have similar or lower temps than the v2 with the gtx 870m :)

A GPU with twice the power (well, 100 W vs. 125 W) can be running at a lower temperature? I now sort of feel cheated by NVIDIA. :p

Is there a backslash next to the left-shift key? Some models seem to have the backslash while others don't.

I've been following this thread well, thanks for everyone's efforts
    As I browsed through, however, I wasn't able to find comparison between P35W v2 and P25W v2
They resemble in specs pretty much (GTX 870M 6GB, Core i7 etc. etc.)
however structure-wise it seems P25W, given it's thicker and larger ventilation design can do a better job dissipating the heat than the thinner P35W.
Can anyone give me a link or tests to see if this be the case?

Ugh, my friend just got the Gigabyte P35w v2 from XoticPC and her screen looked horrible. Luckily, I have a Gigabyte P35K which I know has an IPS screen. So we use the program HWiNFO64 to see what kind of panel we have. Lo and behold, I have an LG LGD03A5 IPS panel where she has a Chi Mei CMN15B9 TN screen. Seriously pissed off and just sent an RMA for exchange.

Anybody having ethernet problems since upgrading BIOS? Since I upgraded to version FB0C / F008 my ethernet would not work after plugging it in when I have already been using wifi. Ethernet shows no DNS and if I try to disable / re-enable I will get a BSOD. I've tried upgrading the Realtek ethernet controller drivers to the most recent version, but that didn't help.

In case anyone is still watching this thread, I have gathered a list of URLs to download driver/software updates that go beyond what the Gigabyte Smart Update program has. For some Intel drivers, it's easier to just use the Intel Driver Update Utility.

Has anybody been running the Windows 10 Technical Preview? I'm wondering if I should upgrade when 10 becomes available, or if there are issues.

    Hi guys,

I just updated my BIOS via SmartUpdate and now my comput doesn't start anymore!

I have a "windows failed to start etc." and its ask me to repair my windows with the install disk (but of course, I have removed my optical reader so I can't do it (and I don't have the disk anyway...)) by going there : \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD

Anyone had the same issue and/or know how to fix it?

I have windows 7 with one SSD (with my boot partition) and two hardrives. On the BIOS, it say that the BIOS version is (still) FAOC I think. All the settings on the BIOS looks fine (but maybe I'm wrong).

    Thanks so much in advance!
