Seriously? That is beyond my wildest dreams of battery life for a gaming laptop. I could barely get that much using the optional slice battery with my envy.

And the battery is easily swappable just like any other average laptop, not permanently jammed in there like the rMBP, right?

    I own v2.

    Battery swappable? Not sure.
    Battery EASILY swappable? Definitely not.

Keyboard flex is obvious, but only if you exert pressure far beyond the amount you do when typing. But it's always good if they've improved it.

    Good luck guys. I'm envious

Once CakeFish's review is up, if all is well I think I'll toss my order in for the 3k model w/ the 980m, then I'll order the 1x16gb sticks and test them if it works then this literally IS the perfect laptop, if not gonna seek out someone to help update the MRC code for the Bios to get it to take. As much as I LOVE the design look of the P-651 I can't repeat myself enough on how they screwed that laptop w/ giving it such a poor battery + halfing the vRAM and making people think its future proof w/ everything that's coming out. I've lost respect and hope for Clevo as of this release.

Before I get overly excited, are we getting the CF1 model in the US?

    3K & 4860HQ?

My main issue with laptops is CPU performance.

Also, I've put in a word with a gigabyte rep regarding 2x16GB dimm modules, I hope to hear back soon.

I'm torn between this and the X7 pro.

Woke up and checked my email for OC.uk and my P35Xv3-CF1 is on its way. 2-5 day ship time from the UK to the my location in the US. Was hoping 2 but I can't be any happier since now I know I'll finally get my laptop that I've been waiting for awhile. Waiting is such a pain especially for someone who is so impatient. Thanks to everyone who talked about the P35x, Cakefish and Sandwhale for ordering from OC.uk or I'll would of never known they had it in stock.

@Sandwhale: GB has global warranty if we run into issues right? OC.uk told me to check my local GB sadly about warranty.

I'll do a mini review whenever my laptop arrives. Going be be adding a 250gb or sticking with the 128gb ssd as boot and get a 500gb Samsung ssd for programs for sure. And hopefully, stock thermals are good by GB or I'll have to change it.

If it's anything like the P35W v2 it will be easily accessible and swappable internally, just not an external quick release:

Woot! UK is 5 hours ahead of me, so by 11am my time hopefully you have it in your hot little hands and starting to throw up some initial impressions. :) I normally don't browse at work, but today will be an exception. :p

    God, I'm excited. Matt please!

My 2007 MacBook needs replacement... still deciding between 970M and 980M. I bet 970M will be enough for me and I can wait for stock, but... let's see how the 980M is cooled, and maybe I will change my mind :)

Agreed, 970M should be enough and brings cooling and the required budget back down, but maybe the 980M can be cooled enough and maybe the budget can stretch... ;)

The 970m would of been perfect for my type of gaming since I typically play RPG games like D3, Wasteland 2, Dragon Age 3 & Pillars of Eternity (when it's going to be released). And MMO'S like FFXIV A Realm Reborn but I figured why not go 980m for a few hundreds more with a better CPU, 3K and 16gb RAM. Even more future proof with a 980m over 970m. The best part is it comes with 8gb VRAM and I CAN GET IT NOW instead of waiting.

Matt is on #80. I'm waking back now from my lectures.

Walked past one of the local computer stores (super overpriced compared to online)... oh you wouldn't believe how tempted I was to drop in and buy a 240GB Sandisk SSD to replace that evil HDD! I resisted, as my Samsung 850 Pro should be with me within a week at most.

The thing is if I start to go future proof, I'd spend £3000 as nothing will be enough lol

In my opinion a fullhd, 8gb and single ssd is enough and easily upgradeable to 16 GB and raid. I still have my concerns with 3k and escalation in Windows, not games.

My doubt is on the graphics card :p

Cakefish, would you also tell us what you think about noise levels? Really keen to see what you think. If I can comfortably play it in close quarters with another person nearby without driving them completely insane, I will be interested.

If noise is a tad much, I'd be keen to get feedback on if undervolting and/or a re-paste would reduce thermals and allow the fans to relax more, on the p35x/w

That'd be great. A dB level measurement beside the fans (i.e. like Xotic's reviews) and one at ~ head level, min to max. Grab an app for your Nexus 5 and let us know.

    Cheers

I wouldn't worry about future proofing with laptops since new technology is always around the corner. Intel will release two CPUs this year. I would focus on getting a laptop that will play the games you want.

I do think this laptop with the 980m should last the console generation as long as you are ok with dialing down the bells and whistles as it ages. I really hope the heat and noise has been addressed by Gigabyte.

Now I remember why I cant switch... I ordered one with a purple keyboard on CF4, The CF1 on OCUK cant be customized with that yet. The only thing I lose out on is the i7-4860HQ. Not sure how much that would impact performance (a difference of 100 MHz... probably very very negligible). Also, if I cancel, I won't get all my money back right away... so waiting just to buy it may take longer than a week. What you think?

Hmm not sure how it works but I wouldn't think the keyboard color would matter since they haven't even received it yet to modify it (don't they change some LED's out after they receive it?). Also they shouldn't have charged you yet either (HID didn't charge me yet)

I'd check on the cancellation policy then. Personally I would cancel and re-order, actually I did do that lol.

I guess if you're at your limit that could be a problem, otherwise it won't hurt to have that extra charge for a few days.
