    Hi everyone,
I noticed a high pitched sound from my laptop's speakers. Does anyone know where I could find the speakers in retail, as they're easy to replace ?

    Cheers

Been having a ***** of a time with my X3+ lately. First off the left screen hinge froze so it ended up breaking the screen when I opened it and now I'm not getting any sound. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers on Aorus's page but not getting any sound from both speakers and headphones so I still think it's a driver problem. Havn't sent the computer in yet for the hinge because I've heard its a long turn around time and can't be without my laptop that long. Anyone have a good tips on how to get this damn audio back working? The delete reinstall driver BS isn't working.

Do you have Command & Control installed? You may want to take a look at this: http://forum.aorus.com/forum/gaming-laptops/support/1555-speaker-problem-x7-pro

Solution from that thread: "Symptom: No sound through the notebook speakers
Potential Cause: A bug in the bios, sound card firmware or driver. (Possilbly a bug in Windows with way it handles mute)
Interim Solution: Use Command & Control version 1.8.6 (Get it from : X7 Pro-SYNC -> Support -> Utilities)

This must be a bug somewhere, and the notebook speaker is muted by default when you first boot into Windows (although this mute is not reflected anywhere in the UI)
This happens all the time with any versions of Realtek driver (Even the Windows default generic driver suffers the same issue.)

It seems that Aorus was aware of this issue because they implemented a quick fix in Command & Control 1.8.6 and it actually unmutes the sound automatically in approx. 11 seconds after logging into Windows. (Either Start-up Process or Automatic Service does it.)

Installing Command & Control 1.8.6 is the recommended interim solution.

There is actually one manual way to unmute it without relying on Command & Control.

Try Fn + F7 (Mute function) and change the volume. <-- This will unmute the sound. But it can't be a proper solution because we don't wanna be doing this this every time we log into Windows."

This affects everyone (X3, X5 and X7) with the new C&C update.

Overclocked slightly for the GPU only, increase my GTX 870M from 941Mhz to 1006Mhz, RAM from 5000Mhz to 5500Mhz.

CPU, no. But I undervolted it with the same clockspeeds for slightly cooler CPU Temps.

Awesome thanks man, prevents me from having to do a fresh install. I'm also not too happy with the new C&C since it took away my ability to run fans at max. Still gotta send it in for this damn hinge just don't want to be without my computer for 2 weeks.

According to a post from a gigabyte rep on overclockers.co.uk a new version of the x3 with (at least) an updated cpu is due to be released within the coming few weeks. No surprise really .

I just got the aorus x3 plus v4, and I'm liking it, but there's one big problem. There is a ton of flex around the right side of the keyboard where the 'i' and 'j' keys are. If I press hard on it the flex seems to stop for a while, but then it comes back. Is this happening for anyone else? It really detracts from typing on it.

The keyboard feels like it's glued to the bottom or something, it sticks slightly but pops back out.

Sent it for RMA along with one of the fans making a vibration noise at high rpm(seems like bad bearings).

Well they just announced the aorus x3 v5 a month after the released the v4, that's plain ****ty.

I have one question for which I didn't find an exact answer.

How is the interpolation to the resolution 1600x900 and 1920x1080?
The display is the only thing that holds me back from buying this notebook.
OK maybe also the missing harddisk slot but it's acceptable.

I'm sorry if someone posted this already but the "Search in thread"-button is missing here...

I think you can already order it at xoticpc. It might be a pre order but I couldn't find the actual tag or note on the product page so I'm assuming it's ready to be shipped.

What is the build quality like, compared to say an XPS 15/Razerblade 2015? I am potentially considering an X3 Plus v5.

I received an X3+ V5 yesterday from what is probably the first working batch of laptops, since they had some QC issues that delayed the launch. Still no word on a U.S. release, but shipping from the U.K. works fine.

Happy to answer questions if anyone has any. Very happy with overall build quality so far.

I'm looking into Aorus X3 Plus V5 version. Beside from CPU and SSD upgrade, the touchpad seems replaced by a glossy surface and powerbrick size down with USB charger function on it. Anyone got it on hands and share any comments?

Hi all, I just pulled the trigger on an open box item from newegg for $1230 (4th Gen)...

It comes with i7 4860HQ, 8GB Memory and 256GB SSD, GTX 870M. It was too good a price to pass up. I am replacing an Alienware M11x R2, so I'm expecting a spectacular performance upgrade. I'd figure I'd add a 256 GB SSD and then Raid 0 the two SSDs. Does anyone know what the factory SSD is that comes with this laptop?

To all Aorus X3 plus V3 users,, supposing its your work PC , do you have it permanently attached to the AC or you alternately use batter juice and AC connection( during charging process)..
Does any long time users of the said notebook can share their experience about this matter?

Hey, first off, hope you`ve enjoyed your purchase, I was wondering if you could comment on battery life, idle temps, speakers and any issues you`ve had since receiving the laptop? I`m also wondering about fan noise under cpu load only since I encode a lot, thanks very much in advance.

The new Aorus X3+ has some decent hardware in it. It's overpriced more so than Alienware, though.

Can build a Z170, 980Ti Hybrid SLI desktop for the same price as this 13" Aorus. :p

Lately my wireless has been giving me problems. I don't know if windows 10 did an update but I havn't be able to connect to already known networks and connectivity has been flaky. Anyone have a link to a good known wireless driver. Thinking about buying a killer wireless card to see if I have better luck with that.

I have the Aorus X3 plus 5 and can confirm the power brick is small. I can't compare to previous revisions since I've never seen them, but it is smaller than I'm used to and does have the USB charging port built into it.

The touchpad is glossy. I don't use it much since I rely on my gaming mouse, but the feel is comfortable to me. Touchpads are a very subjective thing, though. Hope that helps.

Will they make the hinge better? Ugh I am torn between Aorus and the New Razer Blade.

My guess is that since these are only a few months from the last version they will be the same in most other ways. Looks like they upgraded the keyboard and the touchpad has a glow? or color to it. But otherwise i would expect the same creaky build quality huh?

Can any Aorus X3 owners comment on the build quality and material of the notebook? I hear some say it's excellent ( no flex, near MacBook and Razer Blade )and I hear some say it's meh with regards to the hinge/display lid and keyboard deck.

I'm looking to purchase one refurbished for $1200 and it's the v5 variant.

Well I haven't logged on for quite some time, but good to see this thread is still up and running. I've been using my trusty first generation X3 since Sep 14 and it's been fantastic. I am shortly going to plump for the new X3+ V7, probably from Xotic given the options they have (dead pixel guarantee, diamond compound, etc). Not clear when it will be in stock, but hopefully fairly soon.

    Petrov.

    Hi Guys , Just wonders any one here got X3 V5 running windows 7 ? i'd like to find out what's ur WEI scored are,cos my X3 plus with i7 4860HQ,n GTX 870M scored : CPU:7.6 / RAM : 7.9 / GPU : 7.8 & 7.8 / SSD : 7.9 - n it's had GTX870M , but GPU scored 7.8,while my X3 V5 with i7 6700HQ and GTX 970M, scored : CPU : 7.7 / RAM : 7.9 / GPU : 7.5 & 7.5 / SSD : 7.9 , but it's had GTX 970M which is more powerful than GTX870,but GPU scored worsen than 870 , only 7.5 , it's should be higher than 870M , right ? some thing not right here,if any one had your X3 V5 running windows 7 n willing to share ur WEI score,will be appreciated,thanks so much guys.
    BTW i knew lots of people said only running bench mark,then we get better,accurate result,but i'm just felt some thing wrong with my X3 V5,cos my MSI GS60 2QE with i7 4710HQ n GTX 970M with 6GB DDR5 get 7.7-7.9-7.8 & 7.8-7.9 , while my ROG G751JT with i7 4710HQ,GTX 970M with only 3GB DDR5,but scored CPU : 7.7 / RAM : 7.9 / GPU : 7.9 & 7.9 / SSD : 7.9 ! 3 of them scored as i expected,but only the skylake AORUS X3 V5 scored the worse !

Benchmark it. If it's in line. Then great. Then it just means it's not running at full potential whilst running the windows experience index probably down to the software setup maybe.
That's the main reason people on here stop takao go so seriously and it was dropped in later versions because it never measured stuff accurately.

I found it to be quite lacking. Only tested it though. Havent owned one long term though. I still dont udnerstand why Aorus/Gigabyte choose to destroy the frame integrity by cutting out a large hole in an aluminum plamrest so that they can glue in a plastic keyboard tray instead of cutting out the individual key hole itself so it would retain its strength.

    Hi Mate
Thanks 4 ur adviced ! i did run some benchmark on 4 laptop today,n the results are OK as i expected,at the end my AORUS X3 V5 was scores second between 4,just a little bit behind my ROG G751JT,but i'm happy cos the G751JT was factory O.C,n it's big,run cool, quiet,so no complaint ! the X3 V5 even beaten my GS60,so i can relax now,as i know there nothing wrong with it,i did run AS SSD,Crystal Disk ,Unigine,PC Mark7,3D Mark11 and the score are inline : G751JT on top, then X3V5 Second,GS60 Third, nad lastly is my X3 Plus ! so again, thanks 4 ur responded (only you) n adviced my friend ! have a nice day, cheers.
    Kind regards.

No worries. It was the only way to be really sure since I've experienced seeing older graphics card being rated higher than newer and stronger graphics cards personally and other users back I. The day when running the wei score was a thing around 2012 on this actual site lol
