Is the Delta 330w the same one that came with the alienware 18" laptop?

The Delta 330w is the same for all laptop vendors. It may have started with the AW 18, but it is used by many vendors for their highest end laptops.

It's also made in a form for servers, in a nice little slide in hot swap module, about the same area as the portable version, longer and narrower to fit the purpose.

Anyone have any idea why windows explorer takes 23 seconds to populate the contents of my downloads folder, only has around 1GB in it? Win 10, on a Liteon PCIe SSD.

It's not the size, it's the item count that affects the load time. More items means it has to stat the file and get the details many more times than for fewer files.

You are downloading too many small porn images.

Try downloading porn video instead, fewer files per MB means stating fewer files to load the folder.

There's only 20 items in the folder. All the porn is on the 48TB EMC SAN.

Downloading all that porn brought Malware, and it's having fun encrypting your files as you open each folder?

Yeah, I wasn't going to get into it with Misjah, for some reason he brings Gremlin's with him that no one else seems to have :D

20 files in a folder, and it's taking "a long time" to load... his SSD is probably dieing... sigh...

Please tell me my pc is alright...

I can't upload the image at the moment but in XTU, when I am running prime95, the temperature climbs to 92 C with the blend test on all 8 threads. This is the package temperature. The core temperatures are another story, Core 1 and 3 run generally cooler than the other two cores. Core 2 and 4 are often running at or near the same temperatures. They seem to be locked together. The package temperature also corresponds to the highest temperature of either core 2 or core 4(generally core 2). The temperature difference over here was about 6 C (86. 92. 87. 91 c respectively). My settings are 37x on all 4 cores, 34x on the processor cache ratio, -110.3515625V on the core voltage offset, 75A Processor core IccMac, 107W for turbo boost max power(110W for short power max) and 15A System Agent ICC max. I have been facing high temperatures ever since I got my X5, the fans sort of pulse, the right vent doesn't exhaust as much air as the left one, but this is the 1st time something like this is happening.

    Pls Help!!!!

A core differential of 6c isn't great, but it's not bad. 10c or more is considered worth investigating - checking the heatsink / plate for proper pressure and fitment around the whole of the CPU.

If one side of the heatplate has better contact or higher pressure than the other side then you can get a paired core differential like you are seeing. It can also be uneven paste, or maybe a too thick thermal tape on one side of the plate causing it to not close or be able to apply full pressure to the CPU.

6c isn't enough to worry about, your laptop is "alright" :)

Most laptops with multiple fans output more heat from one side or other other, they aren't supposed to be putting out the same heat. One is for CPU and one is for GPU, and usually the CPU is putting out all the heat, except when gaming when the GPU is doing lots more work.

    @Shauryya Pratap Mishra

Nah, prime95 results are enough, and it's fine.

It's easy to get caught up into a manic testing cycle over nothing, your temps in such a slim notebook are fine with prime95, normal use will never get close - and the core differential temps usually don't show up until the extreme's of load so you likely won't see that at all during normal use.

Just run your games and apps, and enjoy your laptop :)

Yeah, well, his CPU temp at high Prime95 load is below thermal throttling, that's enough to know.

It's enough for a thin laptop, have you looked at this thing? :)

He could try "small FFT" to bump up the load, but it's really too much to ask for this thing to take as heavy a load as a full sized laptop.

People with OCD temperature watching shouldn't get a thin laptop, try to run it like a full sized laptop, and then panic when it gets hot.

    Why torture the poor guy?

Say, what is your monitor name in device manager guys?

My G-Sync is not working at all....screen tearing is through the roof. I have already tried to re-install nVidia drivers, the ones that come with the laptop and the ones that are the latest. Nothing is seeming to fix this. Please help

Are you sure you have it enabled? And are you sure that the FPS is below the max refresh rate of the display (you need to either cap the fps to be below the max refresh rate or enable v-sync or fast sync).

OK, so you have G-Sync enabled, like so:

and panel model comes under 'hardware ID' in 'properties':

Both are as you say, albeit instead of AUO there is MEI96A2, corresponding to the difference in panels, but G-Sync still doesn't work

Hey guys. My Driver Update software wont work. Think its ver 2 (the latest one) strangely the. 1.7.3 from the webpage works fine. If i update it then the problem arises again. Any ideas? Im on a clean install of win 10 with the remaining drivers fully updated and on the latest BIOS

I would like to try to lower my cpu temps.

what I have tried: running xtu, only trying to undervolt a little bit. This consistently resulted in bsod. fortunately reboot fixed it. Which makes sense because I understand on this laptop, xtu settings are not saved between reboots.

So I have an undervolting question: what steps are you doing to get a decent undervolt?

I'm on 2.0.2, seems fine. I assume "won't work" means doesn't instantiate, doesn't run, the drivers update window doesn't open?

What are your temps at present?
Have you repasted? (I can't remember if you already said).
    What clocks are you running?
How much have you tried to undervolt so far?

Was wondering if there was any other way to control fans besides command and control, tried speedfan to no avail. It really bugs me out how even on lowest setting they are going at 30% and are still rather loud

Late response, but using C&C overclocking GPU and CPU to max that C&C allows, I get thermal shutdown in about half an hour when running wildlands at ultra on my laptop screen 1080p, with stick on feet extended and a zalman cooling pad. I have not repasted. I think I tried undervolting 0.50. Since writing my original post I believe my problem was from having C&C running and then undervolting. I tested with a fresh boot, no C&C, then XTU and undervolt, and it seems stable in about a 1 hour test.
    Thank you for the reply.
By the way did you ever get your laptop repaired it's been 4 months or so right?

When saving the edited bios.rom I got an error (I can't remember what now) and then whilst trying to flash it I got an error about it being 'unsigned'.
