@woofy495 I called them Friday to upgrade to UPS Next Day Air and that has not been added to my order. I will call them tomorrow to make sure that is put on there and will inquire about stock status. Depending on how you paid it will stay on 0 for a day or more to verify the payment is not fraudulent. If it's by PayPal it will take a day but if you used a credit card or bank transfer it could take more.

Ooh I see. Sounds good! Hopefully everything goes smoothly haha.

Yeah I ordered with card so I'm expecting a call sometime in a day or two from them to verify information -- or at least that's what it says on their site.

I think Gigabyte is taking things a bit slow, I am following the US resellers closely, and all is saying they have no clue but should be next week. Just hang in there until next week folks, I think it will be ready next week.

Anyone else order from Xotic and got an update on their X7 yet? Just placed my order. Hopefully they ship ASAP, otherwise I'm going to have to procure the laptop with some other vendor.

I received an email yesterday afternoon for order confirmation. Apparently the x7 pro's "production time" is roughly 9-16 days after the order is successfully processed.

I ordered mine on Feb 28 (Pre-Ordered I guess). Its still in Phase 1. They said Aorus is a being a bit slow at getting the parts out to them.

@woofy495 that is standard order shipping time if you did not get rush production. Yes, they don't ship your order as soon as it comes (even if you have NO customization and it is literally put it in a box with a shipping label) in unless you pay extra (which is really BS IMHO).

Oh. I see. Thanks for the heads up. Did you get any customizations? Only things I added were IC diamond + clean wipe.

Ok. That's quite BS. If that is indeed the case, I will quite literally be very angry. With that said, it seems that Xotic still haven't received their shipment from Aorus, even though a rep promised me they will get them on Monday of this week, last week.

I got no customizations. Just added the freebies, Aorus B7 bag, and one of Xotic's laptop coolers.

First thing I'll be doing is adding in a 512GB SSD and an extra 16GB of RAM.

Newegg just got them back in stock: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834725005

Yeah... I really need the machines before Friday of next week. Sooner the better. I really don't want to pass on the goodies from xotic either.

I just got off the phone with them however, and it looks like they got a few on hand the other day, but they don't know inventory as far as new orders and pre-orders go. So hopefully they will call back ASAP to confirm.

I canceled my my Aorus order last night as I'd rather have the Clevo P650SG at this point. Unfortunately, my Aorus order just moved to stage 2 so I hope they can route the cancellation notice before it ships.

I've called them several times today to confirm my cancellation and change of order to a new order number for the P650SG so they can refund the difference to me. All the phone reps seem to see that my order is cancelled, yet it concerns me that it made to stage 2. I can't do anything else at this point as their "order analyst" will not pick up the phone, will not return voicemails and will not respond to e-mails!

I've just PM'd Hutsady@XoticPC on the forum and would suggest anyone else having issues contact him as he is very helpful.

UPDATE: Hutsady confirmed to me that everything looks good for my order change request. See you guys on the flip side! For guys that did order, looks like some other lucky customer is getting an X7 Pro.

UPDATE2: My phone sales rep called me a bit ago to double check I wanted to switch my order as they were ready to ship my Aorus. My Aorus order is officially cancelled and my Clevo order is open.

Ditto. I guess the only downside with Newegg is that, I won't be able to return if I do decide to do so. XoticPC would have gave me that, but wouldn't had been able to ship it out in the timeline I needed. So I ended up going with Newegg.

I was originally looking at the GS60 and GS70, but my needs changed to require 32GB of RAM. Plus, having dedicated GPU's help as GSYNC will not work with OPTIMUS so my only option was in fact this laptop.

Can't wait to get it Monday/Tuesday.

Anyone got it yet??!! I'm so tensed as to if I made the right choice. Also has anyone got any confirmation on what pane they are using?? I 90% sure that its IPS but need to be sure. All the review units never mention if its IPS or the panel number. Anyone investigated on this before?

Not yet. I'll be getting it Tuesday at the earliest. Already have 16GB of RAM extra to go in and 1TB Samsung 850 Pro. Machine will be flying. Will also do a re-paste.

All the review units / media sample say it's non IPS. AUO159D which is quite a nice TN panel, but not IPS. Only does around 75-90% of sRGB. I won't hold my breath for it being an IPS panel.

If it does end up being an IPS panel color me surprised. There has been traces that Aorus may use an IPS panel ( vBIOS version numbers that I've found ), but so far at least for US there has been no substantial evidence.

Have you gotten yours? It will be quite easy to see if it's IPS or not.

I was only moved to phase 1 on Friday. Going to be a while before I receive mine, I think.

That's weird, cookie - from all the reviews I read about the test samples, they all mentioned the x7 pro was outfitted with an IPS screen this time around. Going to be pissed if it isn't true...

I'll get mine by the end of the week (the order specialist said it will ship either today or tomorrow). I thought I'd save up on the air shipping charges and prolly buy a good USB DAC for it. Anyway, post your finding and experience with the laptop as soon as you get it. This Christmas gonna be guuuddd!! :)

They must have believed Aorus's marketing materials. AUO159D is not an IPS screen at all, unless they are using some magic revision that's not documented yet. Who knows, I'll get mine tonight, so hopefully will have an update for ya'll.

I also have a i1DisplayPro so I can run some profiling and get some ICC profiles for you guys!

I'll try to do a full review, but I mainly only have time on weekends.

Any requests? I think one is display type & quality, GPU performance & throttling.

For me personally is making sure the HDD SATA is actually SATA 3 @ 6.0gbps, otherwise my SSD is wasted.

Also check if the audio ports have crackling noises or any other distortions. Plus try doing the throttling and temp tests with fps locked at 60. Don't see any reason going above 60 if your screen Hz maxes out there.

It's actually not BS at all. They don't simply put it in another box and slap a label on it, in fact it goes through a full set of QA (burn tests/benchmarks/check hardware functionality etc). This ensures that you get a machine that actually works and isn't Dead On Arrival.

From their "About" page: Custom Laptops, Gaming Notebooks, Custom Gaming Laptops | XOTIC PC

Every detail of an XOTIC PC system is carefully scrutinized and perfected though our QA testing, a revolutionary system integration and inspection process. During testing, your system undergoes a lengthy "burn-in" process, a rigorous quality control inspection, full optimization of the operating system, numerous benchmarks and more, all provided free of charge to ensure your XOTIC PC system operates at peak efficiency right out of the box.

With that being said, I ordered mine through XoticPC and ordered the re-pasting w/ rush order and 3rd day shipping - so it should be here by Friday!

My brother got his last Friday, enjoyed it all day Saturday. He then booted it up Sunday morning for a while, was just sitting at the desktop idle, and the screen went dark. Never booted up again. He could tell it turned on by the lights coming on, but never output video to internal or external display again. Tried the usual stuff, battery drain etc but nothing ever worked. We're guessing either GPU/CPU or motherboard failed.

Now he is having to fight through Newegg to get it returned in a timely manner, they quote about 3 wks which means through all the holiday breaks he won't have it.

He really liked it though while it was working. Ironically I told him to wait to repaste, undervolt, tweak and all that until he used it a while to make sure it wasn't going to die on him. Who knew it actually would? Never had a laptop die on me yet (even my Compaq 1216 from 1996 still works great :) )

He should'e gone with Xotic. They run tests on it before its out. That helps to screen at least basic stuff and they also have pretty good support. Anyway hopefully he gets it fixed. I can only imagine the pain of not having your new toy on though the holidays. I eagerly await mine.

Oh god... I know they had a few issues with the older models where several people had defective units, but I sure hope that this isn't a continuing trend with all the machines we'll be receiving. Good luck to him, Newegg's RMA service is usually pretty good.

Second this. I hate to say it, but I'd like to see the statistics on the number of them which are received defective and don't even go out to the door to the customer.

Two issues are he wanted it overnighted as soon as it came back in stock to get it right away before the holidays, plus we live in Nebraska so he would have to pay sales tax. He wanted it NOW! Haha, I have to admit I am the same way.

I know. I'm being tempted to do express shipping too but I figured the waiting adds to the experience (feel like a kid waiting for it).
Also to the other point of xotic rejects. I'm not sure they would reveal that number but they claim that they do some tests and benchmarking before the laptop is shipped out to you. That should at least prevent the lemons.

Given the phone conversation I had with Xotic PC, they don't touch anything if you don't order anything on the laptop. It comes straight from Aorus then back to you.

If you do select one of their options, they stress test for you. I think you can also request them to run it through their routine also. In the end, I still got it faster from Newegg even having a friend reship it for me =)

I'll be starting an owners thread shortly once I unbox this bad boy.

That's interesting... based off of the information provided on their website I thought they would test all of the machines. I guess if it's not an "XoticPC System" they don't really care

Definitely start the owners thread... I'll be receiving mine from Xotic by the end of the week!
