    ETA on P650SG with Killer 1525 is 12/12 - ugh :(

Otherwise I'd be stuck with the same problematic Intel Wireless AC 7260 - no way in hell will I do that.

Pictures? Though I don't really want a monstrous 17.3" laptop again. I want one much more svelte than the P170SM.

Seeing as I use bluetooth speakers and mouse everyday these are not minor issues. Plus, my Nexus 5 needs to connect to my laptop. That's a big flaw too.

I am really genuinely considering the switch to the Clevo P650SG now. I'm so sorry everyone :(

Sorry you're having probs Cake, I know how frustrating that feels. I'm really liking the laptop, it has a lot going for it. If you think that on balance the issues are hardware related I'd return it. From your description of the wi-fi/blueooth issue, it doesn't sound as though that will resolve itself. I've not tested bluetooth other than hijacking it so I can hook up PS3 controllers :)

Am just about to order some paste. Is there any reason why this would be a bad choice, i.e. there's no aluminium involved here is there? Coollaboratory Online-Shop

I don't know if there is aluminum to be concerned with in the p35x, but I have heard it is a bit harder to apply correctly. The ultra and the pro are probably the best available as far as thermal transfer.

Personally I went with IC diamond since I've used it before and had good luck with it, and applying it was the same as any other paste I've used. I don't care how good something is, if I can't apply it easily and quickly it won't work for me. I will likely never use anything like the metallic ones.

I assume you've tried just running with the windows version of the drivers rather than the Intel one, i.e. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...ects-on/66c21153-54a5-46a4-a4ad-cb30627a623e

Soo ive just caught up on this thread after a good solid few days of not following it. What are all those issues people are talking about? Are those hardware related or software related?

Also, the reseller i plan to buy this laptop from allows me to chose a wireless card. Should i get a intel AC 7260 W/bluetooth or a killer card?

I can't get a P650SG with Killer Gigabit 1525 until after Christmas from PCSpecialist which is too late for me. So, if I get it from Scan UK instead, there will be no fingerprint scanner, which I admit was a huge plus to my P170SM. If I get from MYSN instead, there will be a fingerprint scanner but it will come with Killer Wireless 1202, which I had been having issues with on my Clevo P170SM and also has a sandblasted finish instead of the the other one that I'd prefer.

The options are not looking favorable. What a pickle. Still don't know what to do. But time is running out for the return window - it's either inform OC UK on Monday of my intention to return or absorb the £1800 cost of buying this machine or try to find a fix to y issues (which has been going nowhere so far).

EDIT: I'll take my future questions about the Clevo to the relevant thread. I don't want to spam this topic with off-topic questions too much.

Since you're planning to return the P35X, and you have until Tuesday, then why don't you do a format from BIOS and do a clean install of everything.

All but the USB issue could be fixed by swapping in a different wireless card. I'm working on finding a USB fix for you now ;) I already figured out if I it my phone in the "Media Device USB 3.0 mode" the problem goes away, but that is temporary and it turns the radios off so no phone calls

I really don't know but I've tried every driver under the sun it feels by this point.

    1) Nexus 5 not disconnecting and reconnecting when laptop plugged into AC adapter but not on battery power (phone works fine with other laptops plugged into AC adapter).
    2) Problems with Intel Wireless 7260 card and bluetooth - laggy bluetooth mouse, high DPC latency spikes and severe interference with wifi download speeds whilst connected to a bluetooth speaker.

Do these sound like hardware or software issues to you?

I'm not sure how willing I am to spend the time trying to find a fix, seeing as I have so much coursework to do...

It appears Intel have a recognised issue here: https://communities.intel.com/mobil...-content?content=/api/core/v3/contents/186389
My advice for the Bluetooth issue would be to turn it off on the laptop and buy a Bluetooth USB adaptor until Intel fix it.

With the nexus connecting to the laptop my nexus 4 still doesn't connect to my work laptop (had the phone for 2 years and the laptop for more). I just use DavDrive app and I can browse straight to it when I'm on the same WiFi.

I purged Intel drivers from the system and just used standard Windows ones. Didn't work. Still the same issues present.

Need USB support for ABD which I sometimes use. Buying an external adapter is unacceptable for me. The inbuilt one should work. I will not compromise on that.

Actually I forgot that someone in this thread already informed me that DPC latency measurements are not accurate on Windows 8.1 anyway so ignore what I said there. The others remain serious problems though.

Yeah I wouldn't buy an external bluetooth adapter. I'm sure you could get an entire new wireless card cheap, and probably less than return shipping of the laptop too.

OK so got WiFi speeds to stay consistent when Bluetooth was connected to the speaker by uninstalling drivers for a second time. However, I was then faced with constant WiFi disconnections.

Was that with default driver or updated driver (or the same driver)? Have you considered disconnect the WiFi card and put it back in again (hardware version of turn it off and turn it back on)?

That's a point, was the WiFi card, aerial or power one of the things you disconnected or had to move at all when you took it apart to do the repaste etc..?

Wifi performance could be affected by the loose contact on the WiFi card. No one ever mentioned about repaste.

No, WiFi card was untouched during repaste.

WiFi works flawlessly with latest drivers and when not using Bluetooth. But using Bluetooth speakers sends download speeds down the drain.

I can't believe I'm the only one with this issue with the 7260...

I'm going for a refund. Not worth the hassle to go through this out of the box. The only thing I ever did was change msata's.

I had WiFi issues in it wouldn't pick up any WiFi signal. I had to uninstall the OEM Intel AC drivers and use the MS one after a reboot.

The screen is awesome and very livid with no dead or stuck pixels. No back light bleed either but 3K reso isn't for me especially when I wear glasses. W8.1 doesn't do good enough 200% upscaling, 100 - 150 are very good but way too small for my bad eyes.

This saddens me cuz I sold my MBP and wanted to get a portable gaming laptop. Probably end up getting the GS70 6gb but not sure if I like their top cooling since I have an U3. Probably have to return all the parts I got that was going to be used to mod my U3 for the P35X.

I really like the build quality of the case since it doesn't stand out like how MSI does.

I'm really pissed off at myself for buying into the thin and 980m hype. I had a GS70 6gb preordered and probably would be using it now but ai got impatient and changed which ended up biting me in the .

Since I paid using Amazon Payments it's going to take weeks to transfer 2.4k to my bank account to buy another laptop. Hopefully I can find a reseller that takes amazon payments.

If you want good thin and light notebook, go for a Clevo P650/651 notebook. Better cooling due to 3fan setup and you can buy 1080p IPS screen option from mySN.

Bro, with all the problems every single one of you are facing, I think I would return the laptop, it might die on you Wednesday, really scary thought... I always deal with a few problems with the new laptop but nothing serious, pretty much everyone from the initial batch had multiple BSODs *after* clean install... It just doesn't sound good.

I will most definitely use bluetooth for my mouse when I'm on the road, but that's it. If it gives me ANY problems at all I a going to just replace the wifi card as I have always had issues with the 7260 cards, I bought a new AC router before I got this laptop, hoping it would help, so we shall see.

I'm from the US and I dont like Clevo's and their 3gb versions for 970m or 4gb for 980m. Probably last time I'm going to import a computer due to the hassle if I end up getting a lemon again.

WHERE ARE YOU AW?!?!?! This is really frustrating, the laptops that I considered buying are dropping like flies.. gs60 4K, now p35x v3, probably in the future p650sg, I need a reliable manufacturer (AW) to offer 970m and 980m! I guess welcome 765m gaming during holidays :(

I don't know, other than the amazing GPU temps, the P650/651 CPU overheats and throttles pretty badly too - it reaches 100C and clocks down badly, which is horrible:

    csm_stresstest_3422834ff8.jpg

I think the maxwell GS60/70 are the most reliable when it comes to stress and thin and light and gaming.

Sad to hear cakefish is returning his. Day two after format and no crashes or issues yet. I dont have a bluetooth device enabled, but I have several AC7260's lying around due to intel supplier living nearby. I never had disconnects with it.

@Robo: I had the BSOD before undervolting. Only became more apparent over time. I also ran all sorts of repairs until I wiped out Gigabyte's OS. (they used a modified windows 8 with their boot logo)

Since then, all sorts of mods and changes worked without hassle.

It's not definite yet, but need to make decision soon.

I vaguely remember having similar connectivity issues with my Clevo and Nexus 5 now that I think about it. I remember it being an issue before, which forced me to use only WiFi transfers. Maybe that is not the laptop's fault after all. Though my old Samsung works fine with my Nexus 5...

The WiFi and Bluetooth stuff is definitely a problem though. I'll test it in my Samsung, see if that reproduces the same throttling behavior when connected to Bluetooth speakers.

If its an issue with wifi adapter, can try to grab a different one with two attenae and bluetooth since the card is easily accessible. Not sure how fast you can grab that though.

    This one compatible? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...ktdetailseite&emcs2=NW-013-IN&emcs3=NW-014-IN

I had WiFi connectivity issues with Killer N-1202 on my P170SM that I haven't been getting on this Intel card, which is the good news. It is only Bluetooth that seems absolutely borked on this card. But I use Bluetooth functionality a lot. Buying an external adapter is madness - I need all the USB ports I can get.

One day, you should invest in a USB hub if you need that many...

And not an external. I was thinking like an older card such as the 6300 intel series or such with bluetooth.

    Also: https://communities.intel.com/thread/56124

Edit: You may also want to disable power managment on the wifi card. Windows will shut it down when it thinks you're not using it (even when in use)

Would love to see you guys sort the problems out before Scan ship my CF2, all the talk about return/refund scares me.

BTW Cakefish, why don't you swap the WiFi cards between your 2 laptops? If there's no more problem, then it's a faulty card; If problem persist, then it's the driver.

What would be a quick way to do a scientific temperature test before and after a repaste? I'm thinking some game benchmark that uses the CPU and GPU to some extent, that I can leave running for 30 mins or whatever while logging. I want it predictable and repeatable. My paste looks like may get here today and I'd like to do it this weekend while I have time.

Sorry, I meant what would be a good benchmark to run to test the temps. I know how to log them. Or are you saying to use built in stress tests to get the temps? (I knew XTU had a stress test but wasn't aware that inspector did)

*edit* I feel like I'm on the P35X island and everyone is getting voted off lol

I would still run 3DMark as it uses a bit of both. Prime95 for cpu only, furmark for gpu only.

I have just tired opening up my Samsung to retrieve the N-6235 but it is a nightmare to disassemble and now several screws are stripped, making it impossible. I'll have to purchase one from online and install it. See how that goes.

EDIT: I can confirm that the N-6235 on the Samsung does not have the Bluetooth issue.

Sounds great if it worked this time around.

As for sound distortions with monitors, still happens but its not as bad as before... I assume it has to do with the weird speaker setup they're using. Otherwise, sound everywhere else is fine.

If I understand correctly, your Wifi antenna doesn't work and you found the 3k resolution to be too much for windows UI scaling.

Why not simply RMA and tell them to send you one with wifi antenna that works and 1080p display?

Same here, this is a review sample for quick testing.

Sad to hear some of you are having problems. I hope you'll get things sorted, either fixing it or getting refunds.
