Which one? I only see 1399 EUR or more.

I looked at Overclockers and they don't charge VAT for customer outside EU and since Switzerland never joined EU they would charge me £966.66 not bad.

Thank you! This price is really good and I already own a 256GB SSD so I don't need one. Alternate sends to Switzerland but they don't remove VAT and the price is not shown. I'll send them an email to have details.

No, there is not. However, mine is Australian delivery, ergo cannot be sure about other regions.
Some observations re Warranty I've retained the original LiteOn/Plextar 256GB msata (which I would normally reformat and install in an external drive). Hence, in the unlikely event a Warranty claim would be made I can return this back to factory install, assuming I first remove the 1TB Samsung Evo SSD.
Regarding noise, what noise? Is not an issue. The keyboard is a tad flexible between the F&J keys, yet this is not unexpected I tend to bounce these keys no matter the machine.
Two weeks prior to purchasing this I bought a Venom Blackbook which is based on a Clevo chassis, this is a good machine. However, as good as the Blackbook is I simply should have waited. The P34G is the better of the two from a useability point of view. I find the P34G easier to read 'though the Blackbook arguably has the better screen.
My take on this lappy on a rating of 1-10 is 9.5 on the other 8.
Love it, and the price AUD was much less than expected for a rig of this calibre.

    Thanks for the info man.
Would you say noise levels are ok for a small classroom or a library?

Can you comment more on this? I thought they had the same panels (both 14'' AHVA, the clevo one is based on the w740su).
Where do you notice the differences? (brightness, colors, movies, blacks) or is just a general feeling?

Firstly noise, not an issue would be more than comfortable using this in a library.
Display, I am nearly 60 y/o, thus it is a matter of which of the two is easier on the eyes. If you go back through this thread you will find some disagreement regarding the displays. I can confirm the Clevo based model most certainly has an IPS whereas the P34G is AHVA. My preference is for the latter.
Hope this helps, this is grand machine.

I'm no expert but I'll give my views on what I can.

The keyboard keys clicking noise is a bit loud for my liking. It's not very loud but I would have liked it to be a bit less noisier.

I had read on other forums that the speakers were rubbish but they are louder than my previous Asus G50V so I'm pretty happy with them. They do seem to lack bass but I judge speakers by their loudness so they perfectly fit my need.

The build quality is really solid, all my previous laptops were made of plastic so the aluminium feels top notch. Really smooth and cool to rest your palms on when typing, same goes for the trackpad it is fairly large and has a smooth finish.

I'm coming from a 15.4" 1680*1050 screen and this 14" FHD screen looks really crisp, love the matte finish. The brightness at 30% while indoors seems to be sufficient.

Overall I'm really happy with my purchase and it meets my expectations build quality wise.

Hi mo_danish, thanks for the answers. What are your thoughts on the battery life/fan noise? Played any games yet? How were the frame rates? Any chance of a video or pictrues of the machine? I think all the videos I have seen were preproduction models. Thanks!

    The screen seems awesome!

I'm a bit worried about the temperature though. He was only a couple of minutes into stress testing, but CPU temperature already reached 90 degrees. It probably wouldn't sustain CPU frequency if he kept it under stress for a while.

I understand you said that the display is crisp and you love matte finish, my question and my concern is about the graininess of the display, is your p34g panel grainy especially on white backgrounds? Does it have that sparkle effect like it is dirty and smudgy? Do you have the IPS Backlight bleeding glow when viewing all dark/black backgrounds?

    Thanks

You can expect anything from 3-4 hours of battery depending on the screen brightness. Right now I'm at 85% battery with screen brightness on 30 and Windows is showing 3hr 46min (just jumped to 4hr 07min on 84%). The fan noise again is dependant on what you are doing, right now the fan is off and the laptop is completely silent but if you push it it can get quite loud. The video by LaMMi will give you a better idea.

I haven't had time to do any tests yet, but here are some pictures :)

I think there is a bit of graininess on white backgrounds, I believe it is because of the matte finish. Looks a bit like it would if you had put on a low quality screen protector on your phone (doesn't bother me though, I hadn't noticed this until now). I've tried showing it in my pictures above, it's more visible in the last picture around the left hand side near am/pm.

There's no light bleed on any corners of the screen.

Awesome thanks! Would it be possible to get more pictures from the sides and at a distance? I'm finding it hard to get a good sense of the thickness, it seems relatively bulky from the pictures on gigabytes website.

Yes, that would be fantastic. I am looking at both of these machines. I'm a photo and video guy, so I am most interested in the display panel. Specifically, color fidelity, brightness, dynamic range, contrast, etc. After that, general build quality and durability.

From reading, it seems like the Gigabyte is the better machine. Beefier video card, and better build. I've read no complaints about the P34G keyboard, either. Everyone hates the one on the Sager. I will be interested to check out your head-to-head comparison.

I can't take the pressure, I'm swapping my w230st for one of these, the w230 is just too thick.. If anyone are worrying about temperatures, consider the IC thermal paste from xoticpc (or repasting yourselves). I have it on my 230, and I get avg temps around 75C when running prime95, while others are getting as much as 90. I can almost get it down to 70 if i manually turn the fan to its max setting, but for real world use that fan noise becomes too much...

Damn, that's bad news :(, is the grainy/sparkly effect on the panel severe? I hate grainy matte panels, of all the laptops I own and tried that's matte and 90% of them have this cheap and dirty/smudgy grainy/sparkly look on them except two laptops which are the clevo w230st and asus n550jv and they both had very clear non grainy matte panels , pls tell me the matte on this laptop is not very grainy?

Severe grainy/sparkly/smudgy panel ruins the viewing experience in my honest opinion and i'd rather use a glossy screen even if I had glare just so I could have a vivid and very clear panel. Obviously I still prefer a matte panel since it doesn't have glare but if it destroys the color and if it so grainy then it ruins the viewing experience. You would understand and people would understand what i'm talking about if you and they had a clear matte panel and grainy/sparkly panel in the past with previous laptops.

It's not very severe. My previous laptop had a clear glossy panel and this matte screen looks just as good to me. So it's nowhere as much grainy as to ruin my experience, but then that's just my opinion and I'm not too fussy about it.

Good news, it comes with the laptop.
I did not know this so it was a great surprise when I opened the box.

Isn't Xotic warehouse in like Illinois or someplace? I figured these would come by sea from Taiwan and come to port in cali, so ordered from a cali based seller based on that guess because I'm ridiculously impatient. My tracking shows delivery on Wednesday which is awesome.
Seems like I'm not the only impatient one here, lol.

Oh no :( I too prefer to have a glossy screen over a grainy one... My vaio S13 drives me crazy with it's super grainy screen, I hoped the gigabyte AVHA screen would be better than TN from my vaio. By looking at the pictures it seems fairly grainy but you can't really judge it without seeing it.

mo_danish did you order from affordablelaptops? This model is really nice with 256GBssd and 16GB of ram compared to the one from OCUK.
Also could you do a CrystalDiskMark of your ssd?

Thank you for all the informations ;)

Hi mo_danish, first i would like to thank you for your comments and pictures.

Could you do me a favor and test Prime95 and/or ( Linpack ) while connected to the charger running on full power for an hour or two and monitor the temperature readings of the cpu? I hope that temperatures will stay below 95 degree celsius and that the cpu won't throttle itself down. you can easily see if it throttles on linpack. if it takes the same time for each steps, it is unthrottled. if steps take longer after a while, it is slower.

    Thank you for your effort!

Others also with the p34g, what is the wireless card on yours?
