did not read the correct volume

knew about this, but i did not want to use another app in order to use the drive. did not matter since i use a "very" larger ext drive for "not always needed to access" data anyway

    cheers ...

I figured as much. 100 GB 7200 RPM here I come.

I'm still debating on if I want to go with 1X1 GB stick or go a full 2X1GB and deal with the hassle of taking out the keyboard. I'm thinking no, since I can't seem to find a a better AMD processor with this socket type than what I already have. That kind of sucks, but it's not really going to bother me either.

I use this rig primarily for gaming with the games that wont load onto my other rig with Vista. I'm too lazy to find the drivers to make them work. :p

try disabling the keyboard device in ur device manager first. visually check the ribbon that connects the kboard to the mobo. i have just replaced mine not too long ago. it is not expensive

IIRC you can set the wireless adapter to be 'always on' in the BIOS. You can also run the 'Broadcom Wireless Utility' from the Control Panel.

also I've tried the broadcom wireless utility and whenever I enable it, it shows that the wireless radio on my computer is disabled or turned off.

hi guys... i'm back. i now have a new problem. after using this laptop for several days after i got the wireless working. now is a new story. it won't turn on at all. here's the scenario. The laptop turned it self off, then the power light on the bottom part of the keyboard won't lit up at all. when you unplug the power adapter, then plug it back in, it will lit for a couple of seconds then goes off. basically, the laptop isn't getting power at all. any advises? thanks!

I would check the power brick before anything else, they are notoriuos for suddenly deciding to quit working, Thats why there are so many on sale in ebay

It looks like the block between your wall power and the notebook input power

oh, the power adapter. I believe that this thing is not the problem. because if you unplug it then plug it back in again, there's power. also, testing it with e voltage tester and it passed. I believe that something in the laptop shorted.

when i plug the power at the back of the laptop, the power logo down at the bottom will lit for 1-2 secs, then die. if I redo the steps, it will just do the exact same thing.... bummer...

Voltage is NOT the same as actual power draw, if you can find another power adaptor to try or another laptop with same volt/amp requirements go that way FIRST. BTW does the battery have onough charge to power the laptop??

ya know when I first saw your posts you had keyboard issues , I wonder if you could recheck your power button ribbon cable as you had to move that strip in order to get to the kb screws, it has a very small ribbon cable that is easly messed up.

Sorry if I'm missing something here ... I logged in to see the pictures on this thread (I need to figure out how to remove the keyboard), but I don't see any pictures.

    Have they been deleted?

Quite possible, since it is an old thread, even though it is a sticky one :D

Threads older than 6 months are usually candidates for "close"!

    cheers ...
